9/25/25 My truck accelerated on its own, in drive, while turning and a downhill situation. It revved high, about 2000 RPM but I was able to pull over to get it in park to stop revving, and turned it off. It restarted and when I arrived to work that trip, it did the same in reverse while trying to park. Had to hold brake hard to get truck to stop. Took to dealer did who did SW update to transmission module. 1/13/26 truck again revved while pulling forward in Mc'D's drive through, worker mentioned "that could have been bad", I said yes I thought they had fixed. Had to hold brake hard and shift into park to stop it. 3/31/26 It revved to about 2000-2500 rpm while stopped at Moine Rd. and 585 with car waiting in front of me with 55MPH traffic crosswise. I was able finally get into to park to stop it while holding brake hard to keep from moving, and turned off truck. Took to dealer who had truck for a week, engineers said to return to me (4-10-26)because they could not duplicate or find error code or problem. 4/13/26 SEL light came on, threw evap code P!CEA-00, they did SW upgrade to PCM. Thought it was fixed. About 2400 miles later on 7/10/26, while waiting at red light with car in in front of me it lurched and revved to 4000 RPM, worst time ever, tires where spinning, would not go in park, Brakes fully engaged, put in neutral, and not 100% sure that stopped back tire from spinning. Thankfully it just rained so there was a loss of traction. Pushed off button that shut truck down. Drove home, is at dealership now. This is a VERY dangerous situation. Stellantis needs to address it. There were no codes for this or any time it happens. I really don't want to lemon law this truck as it can't be rebuilt now, but not sure it's worth risking my life or the life of others if they cannot find what is causing it. I shouldn't have to buy a dash cam for my tach and feet to prove this! I have seen on Ram forums this is happened to others as well. Sad & scary all 5 TIMES!

The engine bucks, stalls and misfires. It is a safety problem as it can stall when pulling out into traffic. The problem has been reproduced by the general manager (Tony Coogle) at Sandy Sansing Ram dealer in [XXX]. Yes, the vehicle has been checked by the dealer three times. No, there are now warning lights. The problem first appeared right after I purchased it in August 2025. Since then I have taken the truck in 3 times for repair and each time the dealer has claimed a fix, but the problem continues. Called Stellantis Customer Service( case #XXX) 5 times and they just keep telling me to take it back to the dealer. The dealer has already had my truck a sum total of about 2+ weeks and no fix. NHTSA Safety Complaint Draft Vehicle: 2025 Ram 1500 VIN: [XXX] Mileage at First Incident: 3920 Mileage at Most Recent Incident: 13,000 (approx.) Complaint Summary: My 2025 Ram 1500 has a recurring safety critical defect that causes the truck to suddenly and unpredictably decelerate from highway speeds (around 70 mph to 55 mph) down to approximately 5 mph, even though the engine RPMs remain around 4,000. This creates an immediate risk of being rear ended or causing a multi vehicle crash. Full Description of the Problem: While driving at normal highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses propulsion without warning. The truck slows rapidly to about 5 mph, dealership verbally described as “limp mode” to protect itself, despite the engine continuing to rev at high RPMs. During these events, the dashboard and infotainment system display incorrect and erratic information, including: - Transmission indicator switching into 4WD, Park, or 1st gear while the vehicle is moving - Navigation activating on its own - Screen freezing, glitching, or displaying inaccurate data This defect has occurred multiple times and is unpredictable, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. Repair Attempts: I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Ram dealership on multiple occasions for the same issue: - Repair Attempt #1: 03/20/2025 - Repair Attempt #2: 10/02/2025 - Repair Attempt #3: 10/30/2025 - Repair Attempt #4: 11/17/2025 - Repair Attempt #5: 05/12 2026 The dealership has replaced PCM harness, transfer case control module, DTCM, performed software updates and claimed the issue was resolved, but the defect continues to occur. They have also stated they “cannot replicate” the problem, despite multiple documented incidents. Safety Risk: This defect poses a serious risk of collision, especially at highway speeds. The sudden loss of propulsion and incorrect gear display could easily result in a rear end crash INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On Friday evening, while driving my new Ram 1500 Tungsten on a freeway, the engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost power. I was traveling at highway speed at the time. Almost immediately after the loss of power, gasoline began pooling underneath the truck. Because of the visible fuel leak and strong gasoline odor, my wife and I exited the vehicle and stood well away from it due to the potential fire risk. We were stranded on the side of a busy freeway in the dark for over an hour while waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle was ultimately towed to a Ram dealership. The truck had approximately 3,766 miles on it at the time of the incident. As of the date of this report, the vehicle has been at the dealership for 6 days and has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. I personally visited the dealership and observed that the vehicle is still sitting in the same location where it was placed when it was towed in. This incident involved a sudden loss of power on a freeway combined with an active fuel leak, which created a potentially dangerous situation due to the risk of fire and the hazard of being stranded in traffic. The vehicle is nearly new and had fewer than 4,000 miles at the time of the failure.

As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguisher that a bystander had given me, but it was just too late in the truck was engulfed in flames.

There have been systemic cylinder misfires (each cylinder), anomalous electrical architecture behavior, and transmission calibration irregularities. The check engine light indicated multiple cylinder misfires, which I understand from the dealer is a common issue with the 2025 model. As the driver, there are a few major issues: Chassis Vibration-pronounced shaking or shuddering transmitted through the steering wheel and seat, particularly during the first engine start of the day or idling. Idle Instability-An erratic or surging idle, where the tachometer needle fluctuates noticeably without any throttle input. Throttle Hesitation-A distinct stumble, lethargy, or loss of power when attempting to accelerate from a stop or while merging. It also requires more energy to accelerate, and stops faster. This problem has been addressed at three (3) CDJR dealerships now, and is still ongoing. The car only has 26k miles on it.

Check engine light is on and off for the past month. The day before I took it to the dealer the light went off. I went into my vehicle appointment, and the check engine light was off and there were old codes for the fuel temperature. He reset the codes, and the engine light went off. I drove off and obtained fuel the next day and when I filled the tank, the check engine light went back on again. On December 21st, 2025 I drove it to an AutoZone for the free engine code diagnostic tool/test. The code that presents itself is "Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Intermittent". This is the second issue with the vehicles electrical system. The first was two weeks after I bought the vehicle in March 2025 the vehicle would not start. Come to find out, the electronic shifter was wired wrong from the factory and a whole new was ordered and installed. I will have to take it back again to the dealer.

Bought 2025 Dodge Ram on 9/9/24. Since then I have had it into the shop 10+ times. There is a check engine light that comes on. Engine runs VERY rough and erratic. Had issues driving away from a stop light, chugging, lack of power. Making a left hand turn is taking my life in my hands! Each time at the dealership, they run the codes. P0300 is the primary. They just say its a known issue. Manufacture is working on it. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW!! They have never actually done anything to the vehicle other than run diagnostics and turn off the light. In fact the last time I picked up the vehicle 9/12/25, they didn't even turn off the light. Tech said, "whats the point?" I have elevated this with the manufacture Case94136984. There reply was that its not dangerous and a fix is coming. Have you ever tried to make a left hand turn and the truck stops and starts chugging??? Even the dealership stated this IS a safety concern. Question of the day: This is a 2025 Dodge Ram. Are they STILL selling these vehicles with this known issue??? If they have fixed it in new sells, then FIX MINE! I have records of each time the light has come on, had it into the dealership, and been turned away because "there's nothing we can do, Dodge wont let us do more"

I am leasing a 2025 Ram 1500 Bighorn from Stellantis. In the less than a year I have owned this it has been to 2 dealerships over 5 times. I hired Handy Law Offices to file a lemon claim . Stellantis was supposed to respond by May 26 and here it is June 9 and they still refuse to acknowledge the problems. And to top it off, I found a positive wire with a split open covering and Summit Automotive in Fond du Lac Wisconsin refuses to fix it, even though they sold me the truck. In talking to other dealerships, this is a shorting hazard and possible fire, but they said Summit has to fix it. I want to know what legal avenues I have to get rid of this truck. I have learned that more and more of this year truck is also experiencing bad problems that Stellantis refuses to acknowledge. And if my truck catches fire there will be additional lawsuits for negligence against Summit Automotive.

Vehicle was being driven at highway speed at about 0555. There were no warning lights including no battery or low voltage warnings. Suddenly every warning light came on and all systems failed. Engine had stopped and computer had shifted vehicle into neutral. Power steering and power brakes had failed as well. At least one driver side rear tail light went out (I think forward headlights as well but not sure). The vehicle was still coasting at highway speed!!! Engine would not restart. I was extremely lucky to not be in an accident as the vehicle was suddenly essentially undrivable while traveling at a high rate of speed. I was lucky to be able to get it to side of road safely but in different traffic conditions this likely would have caused an accident as it was impossible to increase speed, and extremely difficult to steer or brake. The car is at dealers for repairs. I suspect this is a failure of the PCM software and eTorque system similar to the recall put in place to 2019-2023 ETorque models with the V8 (mine is V6 and a 2025). THIS IS A HUGE DANGER AND RISK. With no warning the vehicle becomes undrivable while it is being driven!! Had I needed to stop quickly I could not. Had I needed to turn quickly to avoid something I could not. Had I needed to accelerate to avoid being rear ended, I could not.

At only 1600 miles on the odometer, I took the car in for oil service and ABS recall. Dealer inspected, said I was OK. They then Flashed the EBS module with new firmware. 4 day's later (less then 6 miles since dealer visit and arriving home after a brief 45mph, 6mile trip, the check engine light came on. As I was 2 blocks from my house, proceeded home. Engine was in limp mode. Suddenly the warning chime sounded, all warning lights came on. Stopped, tried to change gear selector to "R", car would not change gear. Could not select any gear, forward, reverse, neutral or park. Warning messages would not stop. Chime occurred about every 2 seconds, messages from "no forward breaking", No ABS, call dealer, no side blind spot, do not shift transmission. Car was on a hill, and would not go into park. Unsure about break's, so had to chalk wheels using rocks. Could not shutdown engine. Tried to press "stop" button many times, including holding the stop button in for 5 seconds then for 30 seconds. Engine still would not shut down. Finally after several minutes, and many presses, engine finally stopped. Car would not restart, and could not be moved out of the street. Finally a tow truck arrived and he pulled the emergency manual neutral strap, located by removing a panel by the left drivers side knee. Dealer has had the car for over a week, no loaner or rental car, and are very bad at keeping me up to date and returning phone calls. Last I heard was "waiting on approval and ordering parts". As I said, this is a brand new (2025) truck, with only 1600 miles on it.

Engine light comes on every time I put gas in the capless gas tank. It’s a brand new truck, only put gas in 3 times since owning it and engine light has come on each time, light goes off when gas level reaches around 1/2 a tank. Paid short of $60,000 for the truck should not be happening.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2025 Ram Ram 1500 Quad Cab verdict →
