9/25/25 My truck accelerated on its own, in drive, while turning and a downhill situation. It revved high, about 2000 RPM but I was able to pull over to get it in park to stop revving, and turned it off. It restarted and when I arrived to work that trip, it did the same in reverse while trying to park. Had to hold brake hard to get truck to stop. Took to dealer did who did SW update to transmission module. 1/13/26 truck again revved while pulling forward in Mc'D's drive through, worker mentioned "that could have been bad", I said yes I thought they had fixed. Had to hold brake hard and shift into park to stop it. 3/31/26 It revved to about 2000-2500 rpm while stopped at Moine Rd. and 585 with car waiting in front of me with 55MPH traffic crosswise. I was able finally get into to park to stop it while holding brake hard to keep from moving, and turned off truck. Took to dealer who had truck for a week, engineers said to return to me (4-10-26)because they could not duplicate or find error code or problem. 4/13/26 SEL light came on, threw evap code P!CEA-00, they did SW upgrade to PCM. Thought it was fixed. About 2400 miles later on 7/10/26, while waiting at red light with car in in front of me it lurched and revved to 4000 RPM, worst time ever, tires where spinning, would not go in park, Brakes fully engaged, put in neutral, and not 100% sure that stopped back tire from spinning. Thankfully it just rained so there was a loss of traction. Pushed off button that shut truck down. Drove home, is at dealership now. This is a VERY dangerous situation. Stellantis needs to address it. There were no codes for this or any time it happens. I really don't want to lemon law this truck as it can't be rebuilt now, but not sure it's worth risking my life or the life of others if they cannot find what is causing it. I shouldn't have to buy a dash cam for my tach and feet to prove this! I have seen on Ram forums this is happened to others as well. Sad & scary all 5 TIMES!

The engine bucks, stalls and misfires. It is a safety problem as it can stall when pulling out into traffic. The problem has been reproduced by the general manager (Tony Coogle) at Sandy Sansing Ram dealer in [XXX]. Yes, the vehicle has been checked by the dealer three times. No, there are now warning lights. The problem first appeared right after I purchased it in August 2025. Since then I have taken the truck in 3 times for repair and each time the dealer has claimed a fix, but the problem continues. Called Stellantis Customer Service( case #XXX) 5 times and they just keep telling me to take it back to the dealer. The dealer has already had my truck a sum total of about 2+ weeks and no fix. After sudden stop at sharp right turn, engine has no acceleration; appears to be in limp mode;. Dealer did not inspect, just said they hadn’t heard of it happening before.. this has happened twice in less than 6 months. No warning given. I have already had the cluster changed twice for other issues…seems to have a lot of electrical issues.

Engine shuts off while idling and also while driving. While driving, the condition most commonly occurs at speeds under 10 mph, but it has occurred on public roads and highways. When the engine shuts off, the truck violently engages Auto Park while the vehicle is still in motion. The condition occurs multiple times per day. There are no warning lights or messages prior to the shutdown. The condition began after a software update performed by the dealership and has been occurring for several months. The vehicle has been returned to the selling dealership for diagnosis and repair on one prior occasion. Following the repair attempt, the condition has continued and appears to have become more frequent. I am concerned that the unexpected engine shutdown and automatic engagement of Auto Park while the vehicle is moving creates a significant safety hazard and may cause damage to the transmission or drivetrain while also creating a possibility of causing an accident while operating vehicle.

The Throttle response is very slow when slowing down and then trying to take back off you are half throttle or more before anything happens, i have had to pull off the road to keep other vehicles from hitting me because the vehicle would not go. There has been a few times on the interstate that the throttle would not accept throttle at all and i would have to keep mashing it to finally get it to respond. I have had the truck at two dealerships and they tell me it is normal and the throttle is acting as it should. This is going to get me or someone Killed!!!! My friend bought a new 2026 ram truck and he says the same thing so this is a newer model ram problem.

The vehicles Auto-Start-Stop (ESS) works intermittently. Multiple occasions where the system was turned off and the engine quit and would not restart without putting the vehicle in park. Recently the ESS has gone months without shutoff of the engine. However, occasionally it will shut off the engine. Multiple times the engine has shut off while the vehicle is moving, which was very dangerous. Typically after a stop at a traffic light, you begin to drive and the engine quits. This requires you to put the vehicle in park to attempt a restart.

NHTSA Safety Complaint Draft Vehicle: 2025 Ram 1500 VIN: [XXX] Mileage at First Incident: 3920 Mileage at Most Recent Incident: 13,000 (approx.) Complaint Summary: My 2025 Ram 1500 has a recurring safety critical defect that causes the truck to suddenly and unpredictably decelerate from highway speeds (around 70 mph to 55 mph) down to approximately 5 mph, even though the engine RPMs remain around 4,000. This creates an immediate risk of being rear ended or causing a multi vehicle crash. Full Description of the Problem: While driving at normal highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses propulsion without warning. The truck slows rapidly to about 5 mph, dealership verbally described as “limp mode” to protect itself, despite the engine continuing to rev at high RPMs. During these events, the dashboard and infotainment system display incorrect and erratic information, including: - Transmission indicator switching into 4WD, Park, or 1st gear while the vehicle is moving - Navigation activating on its own - Screen freezing, glitching, or displaying inaccurate data This defect has occurred multiple times and is unpredictable, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. Repair Attempts: I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Ram dealership on multiple occasions for the same issue: - Repair Attempt #1: 03/20/2025 - Repair Attempt #2: 10/02/2025 - Repair Attempt #3: 10/30/2025 - Repair Attempt #4: 11/17/2025 - Repair Attempt #5: 05/12 2026 The dealership has replaced PCM harness, transfer case control module, DTCM, performed software updates and claimed the issue was resolved, but the defect continues to occur. They have also stated they “cannot replicate” the problem, despite multiple documented incidents. Safety Risk: This defect poses a serious risk of collision, especially at highway speeds. The sudden loss of propulsion and incorrect gear display could easily result in a rear end crash INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle has a dangerous hesitation and delayed acceleration when I am coasting and then reapplying the accelerator. This occurs in scenarios such as approaching a yield, slowing for a left turn on a green light, or slowing to merge where I reduce speed but do not come to a complete stop. When I press the accelerator to resume speed, the vehicle does not respond for a significant period. The truck fails to accelerate even with substantial throttle input, including pressing the pedal to the floor. After the delay, power may return suddenly. This delayed response creates a serious safety hazard in traffic. The hesitation occurs at the exact time immediate acceleration is needed to clear an intersection or merge into traffic. This has created near-miss situations due to the vehicle not accelerating when expected. Warning lights and diagnostics: No check engine light is illuminated during the events. The issue occurs without any visible warning indicators on the instrument panel. Conditions: The hesitation is most noticeable during coasting and throttle reapplication at low to moderate speeds, especially when slowing but not stopping. It is not limited to one specific road or location. Service and repair attempts: The vehicle has been presented to a dealer on 06/30/2025, 07/09/2025, 07/17/2025, 08/01/2025, and 02/06/2026. Additionally, I called and confirm there was no software update, recall, or corrective action to be taken on 03/25/2026. The dealer stated they could replicate the issue but could not identify a solution. No permanent fix has been provided.

Vehicle is shifting it self to park while driving and your truck will lock up in traffic, digital instrument. Cluster will go black then come back saying restart required before you can start driving and get out of harms way. Digital cluster will flash while driving causing the turn signals to malfunction and you can not see how fast you are going. It is also causing the transmission to get stuck in the current gear it is in not allowing for acceleration. You have to turn truck on and off to get the transmission to shift. Purchased truck in feb and has been at dealer for this issue to know repair 3 times now. There is finally a recall explaining exactly what is going on with my truck yet my vin is not included I have been telling Chrysler this is a major safety issue I have almost been in several major accidents because of this!

4-14-2026 3:25pm Temp 70 degrees. Dry pavement. I was approaching a red stoplight at 50mph. I pressed on the brake pedal but the brakes didn’t seem to be working well. I was slowing down but not like normal. I pressed harder. I heard the truck getting louder inside the cabin. The truck was not braking well at all. It was slowing down but it was not stopping. Alarmed, I pressed even harder on the brake pedal. I heard my tires squealing over the other loudness coming from the truck. Smoke came from my tires. I managed to finally get the truck stopped my switching the gear selector out of Drive. I pressed the Stop button to stop the engine. I turned the truck back on. The “loudness” I had heard earlier returned. The truck was still stopped and in Park with my foot still on the brake pedal. The tachometer on the truck was at just over 4000 RPM - far above normal idle of ~1000 RPM. The engine had been revving trying to drive the truck forward even though I had my foot off the gas and on the brake!

First I would get a check engine light and infotainment screen would go black and odometer started blinking. Restart required. Occasionally the key fob is not detected. Reset the check engine light twice. Once at Huntington Beach RAM and once at Sunnyvale Chrysler. Both times the technician was unable to determine cause of fault. Slowly the failures became worse. The vehicle infotainment system and safety features that controls propulsion and ADAS intermittently started to fail and ultimately the truck started to stall. This stalling occurred 15 minutes after a service oil change and tire rotation at Sunnyvale Chrysler / RAM. Had to tow vehicle back to Sunnyvale. Batteries changed. Tech stalled on test drive after about 5 miles. RAM app still oddly indicates low battery, even though Sunnyvale replaced both batteries. Additionally, the trailer tow module (under recall) information / status on the infotainment screen menu started flashing. The trailer tow module recall was not installed as scheduled, even though parts were checked and available, however due to parts shortage, dealer indicated sales vehicle get priorities for the modules at this time. The screen started changing status without touching the screen or menu buttons. This is a serious condition I feel warrants complete check out and repair to avoid safety concerns due to failures / hazards in the operational effectiveness of the vehicle systems / controls, that could increase risk of an accident ,that might lead to vehicle or property damage, injuries or other catastrophic events. On Friday evening, while driving my new Ram 1500 Tungsten on a freeway, the engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost power. I was traveling at highway speed at the time. Almost immediately after the loss of power, gasoline began pooling underneath the truck. Because of the visible fuel leak and strong gasoline odor, my wife and I exited the vehicle and stood well away from it due to the potential fire risk. We were stranded on the side of a busy freeway in the dark for over an hour while waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle was ultimately towed to a Ram dealership. The truck had approximately 3,766 miles on it at the time of the incident. As of the date of this report, the vehicle has been at the dealership for 6 days and has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. I personally visited the dealership and observed that the vehicle is still sitting in the same location where it was placed when it was towed in. This incident involved a sudden loss of power on a freeway combined with an active fuel leak, which created a potentially dangerous situation due to the risk of fire and the hazard of being stranded in traffic. The vehicle is nearly new and had fewer than 4,000 miles at the time of the failure.

As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguisher that a bystander had given me, but it was just too late in the truck was engulfed in flames.

There have been systemic cylinder misfires (each cylinder), anomalous electrical architecture behavior, and transmission calibration irregularities. The check engine light indicated multiple cylinder misfires, which I understand from the dealer is a common issue with the 2025 model. As the driver, there are a few major issues: Chassis Vibration-pronounced shaking or shuddering transmitted through the steering wheel and seat, particularly during the first engine start of the day or idling. Idle Instability-An erratic or surging idle, where the tachometer needle fluctuates noticeably without any throttle input. Throttle Hesitation-A distinct stumble, lethargy, or loss of power when attempting to accelerate from a stop or while merging. It also requires more energy to accelerate, and stops faster. This problem has been addressed at three (3) CDJR dealerships now, and is still ongoing. The car only has 26k miles on it.

While driving into town, the dashboard illuminated with every warning light before the vehicle suffered a total electronic and engine shutdown. This happened twice—the second time while I was mid-turn in an intersection. Several vehicles had to slam on their brakes to avoid a high-speed collision with my stalled truck. I had to get the vehicle towed as it is fundamentally unsafe to operate.

The auto stop/start "feature" does not work properly. When it malfunctions, the vehicle goes into Park and requires to be turned off and back on again. This happened to me coming out of my neighborhood at a yield sign. I stopped very briefly as it was a Yield sign. The engine shut off and it threw a MIL. I had to turn it off and back on. I took it to the dealer who said they did a flash upgrade and reset the MIL. Since then it has done it to my wife multiple times. One time was at an intersection and she panicked which caused more delay in getting the vehicle going again. It almost seems like a stall. When I disable the stop/start with the button on the dash it (obviously) does not have this problem. The auto stop/start needs to be eliminated from vehicles without fear of voiding warranties.

While operating the vehicle, the engine shut off unexpectedly and without warning while the vehicle was in traffic. In one incident, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light and, when the accelerator was pressed after the light turned green, the engine cut off and the transmission automatically shifted into PARK. The vehicle became disabled in active traffic with other vehicles behind it. A similar incident occurred previously in a parking lot. The vehicle began sputtering and then shut off when shifted into reverse, again forcing the transmission into PARK. These events occurred after the vehicle had recently been returned from an authorized dealership where it was reported that all issues were repaired. The malfunction appears to involve the engine, electrical system, and powertrain, specifically a loss of engine power combined with an unintended automatic shift into PARK. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently back at an authorized dealership for service. These failures placed my safety and the safety of others at risk by leaving the vehicle suddenly disabled in traffic, blocking lanes, and creating a risk of rear-end collision. One incident occurred during morning rush hour with surrounding vehicles, increasing the risk to other motorists. The problem has occurred multiple times and has been reported to and inspected by authorized dealerships on several occasions. Diagnostic testing, software/system updates, electrical inspections, and component replacements have been performed. Despite these inspections and repair attempts, the problem continues and has not been resolved. Prior to and during the failures, warning messages and alerts appeared on the dashboard, including repeated ParkSense warnings and other system alerts. In some instances, additional warning messages appeared at the time of the shutdown. These warnings have occurred intermittently since earlier service visits. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized dealers

Check engine light is on and off for the past month. The day before I took it to the dealer the light went off. I went into my vehicle appointment, and the check engine light was off and there were old codes for the fuel temperature. He reset the codes, and the engine light went off. I drove off and obtained fuel the next day and when I filled the tank, the check engine light went back on again. On December 21st, 2025 I drove it to an AutoZone for the free engine code diagnostic tool/test. The code that presents itself is "Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Intermittent". This is the second issue with the vehicles electrical system. The first was two weeks after I bought the vehicle in March 2025 the vehicle would not start. Come to find out, the electronic shifter was wired wrong from the factory and a whole new was ordered and installed. I will have to take it back again to the dealer.

Despite multiple repair attempts, the vehicle continues to experience significant, recurring issues that substantially impair its use, value, and safety. Since purchase in April from Hebert’s Town and Country, the vehicle has been in service nine (9) times, totaling approximately 50 days out of service. The last four service visits were for the same issue and the same diagnostic fault code, demonstrating a persistent, unresolved defect. The check engine light is currently illuminated again. The primary unresolved issues include: recurring check engine light with repeated fault codes, multiple battery replacements, the vehicle being completely inoperable and requiring towing, and the auto start/stop system shutting the vehicle off and failing to restart while stopped in traffic. These conditions present clear safety concerns and have persisted despite repeated repair attempts by authorized RAM dealerships. All service records and diagnostic reports are available for review. This vehicle was previously submitted to arbitration. While the arbitrator acknowledged manufacturing defects, the conclusion that the defects did not substantially impair the vehicle and were “separate and distinct” is inconsistent with the diagnostic evidence. The repeated appearance of the same fault code across multiple visits indicates a single, recurring nonconformity rather than unrelated issues. Since the arbitration decision, the vehicle has continued to experience the same problem and has been returned for additional repairs. The vehicle is now awaiting inspection by a manufacturer field engineer due to the dealership’s inability to diagnose or permanently repair the defect, further confirming that prior repair attempts have failed. In good faith, I contacted the manufacturer’s retention team to seek alternative resolution options, including replacement or trade-in, which were denied. Please confirm receipt of this request in writing and advise on next steps.
