Towed RAM pickup to dealer for failing to start. Battery/shifter problems found and fixed. While driving the truck from service center, dealer tech found NO BRAKES. Subsequent diagnosis found failed BRAKE BOOSTER MOTOR failure. Sucessfully repaired. This incident could have been lethal under different circumstances. It shows a VERY unnecessary design flaw which is putting an electronic controlled component into the braking process. Historically the brakes have work reliably with strictly a mechanical/hydraulic process. Moreover, there is no emergency break pedal as I have subsequently discovered after the fact.

While driving on the highway, I first noticed the vehicle becoming difficult to steer. The steering felt unusually heavy and sluggish, as if power steering assistance was reduced or failing. Shortly after this began, multiple warning lights illuminated across the dashboard. At that point, braking performance also became severely compromised. The brake pedal felt soft and traveled nearly to the floor with very limited stopping power. The vehicle required significantly increased distance to slow and stop, creating a serious safety hazard in active highway traffic. The combination of reduced steering assist and severely degraded braking performance made the vehicle difficult to control and presented a significant safety risk. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop and it was later towed to a dealership. At the time of inspection, the battery was found to be dead. I had recently returned from a 5-day trip and the vehicle required a jump start before this driving event. The dealership replaced the battery and stated the vehicle was operating normally after repair. However, the incident involved progressive loss of steering assist followed by significant loss of braking performance at highway speed. I am reporting this as a serious safety concern because multiple critical vehicle control systems were affected while driving. I am concerned about potential recurrence of this issue and the risk it presents to driver and public safety. The vehicle is available for inspection.

The trailer brake module causes trailer braking and lights to work inconsistently. There is an existing recall but I am 3 months in with no status of when they can fix my issue. I am on a waiting list with 2 nearby dealers and cannot safely use my truck for towing which is what I bought it for.

4-14-2026 3:25pm Temp 70 degrees. Dry pavement. I was approaching a red stoplight at 50mph. I pressed on the brake pedal but the brakes didn’t seem to be working well. I was slowing down but not like normal. I pressed harder. I heard the truck getting louder inside the cabin. The truck was not braking well at all. It was slowing down but it was not stopping. Alarmed, I pressed even harder on the brake pedal. I heard my tires squealing over the other loudness coming from the truck. Smoke came from my tires. I managed to finally get the truck stopped my switching the gear selector out of Drive. I pressed the Stop button to stop the engine. I turned the truck back on. The “loudness” I had heard earlier returned. The truck was still stopped and in Park with my foot still on the brake pedal. The tachometer on the truck was at just over 4000 RPM - far above normal idle of ~1000 RPM. The engine had been revving trying to drive the truck forward even though I had my foot off the gas and on the brake!

Our 2025 Ram 1500 is subject to a safety recall involving the trailer brake system. The dealer confirmed that the defect may cause trailer brakes and trailer lighting to fail. We were advised that there is currently no repair available and that parts may not be available for up to a year. Because of this defect, we are unable to safely tow our travel trailer, which is a primary intended use of the vehicle. This creates a significant safety concern, as failure of trailer brakes could result in loss of control while towing. The issue has been confirmed by an authorized dealer. No repair has been performed because a remedy is not yet available. The condition is ongoing.

While towing a loaded horse trailer, I received a red "trailer brake" warning light on the instrument cluster indicating that the trailer brakes were no longer connected. I confirmed that the trailer brakes were not working by attempting to activate them manually with the trailer brake controller. There was no response from the controller and no brakes on the trailer functioned. Within about 3-4 minutes of the trailer brake issue, I also lost all trailer lights on the trailer. When this happened, I decided to pull over in a safe area and attempt to check the trailer connections. All trailer connections were securely installed, free from any damage, and had functioned flawlessly for days prior. I was forced to continue to my destination without trailer brakes or trailer lights despite being stuck in a substantially strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and low visibility. When I reached my destination, I called my selling dealership to report the issue. I was told by the service advisor that they had "hundreds" of trucks on a wait list and that Ram was only sending them one repair part per week. He also stated that they hadn't recently received any parts and had no idea when more would become available. Their only suggestion was to "call and complain" to corporate, and that there was nothing more they could do. This incident with truck occurred on March 20th 2026. I had already called the dealership on March 6th after discovering (via NHTSA site) that my truck had been flagged for the trailer brake control recall. The dealership gave me the same response previously. "We have hundreds of trucks but no parts, call back in four weeks". At that point, I had not received any official documentation of a trailer brake control module recall from Ram. I did not receive my official letter from Ram until March 21st, the day after my incident.

I was driving at around 40mph, my vehicle turned off with all the lights in the dashboard being turned on. I had no power steering or breaks in my vehicle. With no ability to break my moving car I pulled into a parking lot almost crashing with another vehicle. I couldn’t turn out my car in parking and the lights in the dashboard stayed on.

The first major problem was when the truck just didn't start 11/25/2025. The truck was towed to the dealership. The dealership said it was a bad electrical fuse and I picked up the truck. There were no warning lights on before the brake failure. Last week, 12/18/2025 my brakes failed while I was driving my son home from school; thankfully we were in our development and going very slow so we weren't harmed. I was driving like I normally do, and went to brake, and the brakes weren't working, the pedal was to the floor. There was just no resistance with the brakes at that time. All the warning lights in the truck were flashing. After we rolled to a stop in the grass, I turned the truck off. I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't go on. I waited a few mintues and tried again and it turned on. I was a few houses away from my home so I attempted to drive it again very slowly, and the brakes worked again. The truck got towed to the dealership, and the dealership is saying they can not find anything wrong with the truck now. There must be some kind of major electrical issue going on, but the dealership says they can't find anything wrong.

When applying brakes there is an audible chirping noise from the front driver side wheel well area. There is also a similar noise while driving (and not applying pressure to the brake pedal) when going over bumps/holes in the road. Concern initially reported to dealer in Spring of 2025, dealer confirmed hearing the noise under both situations listed. Dealer removed then greased and re-installed components in brake caliper. Noise subsided for a few months, however it has since returned. In addition there are now evident issues with braking ability when traveling at speed.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that immediately after purchasing the vehicle, the contact experienced issues with the brakes. The contact stated that while driving at 80 MPH, several messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The ABS warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond immediately. The vehicle eventually came to a rolling stop. The contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while reversing out of the driveway, several messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact stated that the brakes failed while at the dealer while an employee was test driving the vehicle. However, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer replaced the auxiliary battery, and the park assist module was reprogrammed. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the blind spot sensor had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,504.

My vehicle makes a rattle noise in the front brake area. I took the car to the dealer for warranty twice to have it checked, and they told me that some parts in the brake pad area are vibrating, causing the noise. They solved it by applying grease where the part is installed, but the sound returns after a short time. This is a problem for me because a new car isn't supposed to make that type of noise. I'm also worried that this problem could develop into one that ultimately affects the performance of the vehicle's brakes. I believe the part name is Disc Brake Pad Spring Kit (68545609AA).

While driving all the brake system warning lights come on, even the anti-lock brake system light, and we get a warning stating emergency active braking system error message. The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor when we tried to pull off to the side of the road. This has happened multiple times now and at 1st the dealership couldn't replicate the problem. The it happened yet again and we got video evidence of the brake failure while driving. I did file a claim with Stellantis because the dealership can't get the brake system control module needed to hopefully correct this issue and they said they can get the part to the dealership on 10-5-25. At that point the dealership will have had the truck for 36 days.

All major braking and safety systems have failed, including the parking brake, 4-wheel drive, cruise and adaptive cruise control, lane departure warnings, blind spot monitoring, and parking collision alerts. These failures occurred at the same time, and we believe there may be additional issues not yet identified. Our local dealership (Barry Sanders Supercenter, Stillwater, OK) attempted multiple repairs before opening a service ticket with RAM/Stellantis. We were informed the part needed to fix the problem is backordered for approximately one year. This extended delay means we must continue driving a vehicle without critical safety systems or park it indefinitely, creating both a financial and safety burden. The loss of these features greatly increases the risk of collisions, especially in bad weather or on highways where adaptive cruise, lane departure warnings, and blind spot detection are essential. Online searches show this is not an isolated issue but a recurring problem in 2025 RAM 1500 models, suggesting a broader manufacturing or design defect.

When turning my car on, I received warning lights for the ABS, Stability Track, and Traction Control systems. These stated they had all been deactivated. The Check Engine light also illuminated. I was in a safe, open lot location so I put my truck in drive to confirm this was not a dash/technical issue. The brakes were in fact almost completely deactivated. It took me over 100 feet to come to a stop. The brake pedal had slightly retracted also causing more issue in trying to reach the brake pedal. Once stopped, I checked the VIN and discovered this recall for the vehicle. The major complaint comes from the recall repair process with Ram/MOPAR. I took the truck to my nearest Ram dealership. Once in, they advised I needed two sensors replaced in the front wheel-well per the recall guidelines. The service department of the dealership further stated they could only order ONE sensor per month per dealership. Not per vehicle, per person, etc. They could as a dealership only order one sensor a month, meaning nobody else could come in for this recall repair while my FIRST sensor was being replaced. Now I am stuck waiting over a month for the second sensor to be ordered. They refused to give me a courtesy vehicle to drive for the time being so I am forced to drive my Ram with this recall issue with a major safety concern. I contacted Ram/MOPAR about this to find out if the dealership was correct in the part ordering statement and they could not give me a straight answer. Considering the brakes are about the most critical piece of safety equipment in a vehicle, I find this by Ram completely unacceptable and opening the door for potential bad things down the road.

I am writing as a concerned RAM owner facing a severe safety risk due to the unresolved OEM trailer brake controller (TBC) issue. I bought my truck to tow a travel trailer, which I cannot safely do without resolving this. Background: • Purchased 2025 RAM 1500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 (VIN: [XXX] ) in March 2025. My previous 2022 RAM’s TBC is incompatible with 2025 due to CAN-bus/electrical changes—this was not disclosed at purchase. • On April 3rd 2025, Mopar support incorrectly told me to buy PN 82219232AA. I later found I needed 82219240AB, which I ordered. Delivery was repeatedly delayed, then canceled in May with no alternative offered. • Opened Case [XXX] with RAM Customer Care on June 10th 2025—no resolution since. • I confirmed my truck is pre-wired with harness 68601443AA and only needs module PN 68569520AB and dash switch PN 68618899AA. I sourced these and scheduled install at Serra Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM for July 28th 2025. Initially told they could do it, but upon arrival, they refused, claiming it must be done at the factory. This is incorrect. Mopar document 82219232AB [XXX] ) provides dealers official instructions to install/activate the TBC, especially when the truck already has the factory wiring. Safety risk: I used a CURT Bluetooth brake controller as a temporary fix. It frequently loses connection, making it unsafe during sway, high winds, or oscillations. If it fails mid-trip, I lose trailer-only braking. Request: 1.Immediate coordination to install/activate the OEM TBC (Sales Code XHC + proxy alignment). 2.If not feasible, replace the vehicle with one having a factory TBC at no cost to me. Auto Emergency Braking. It is available for inspection. Dealer has verified multiple instances of error codes from this issue. Dealer claims they cannot replicate it, but this has happened numerous 50+ times and occurs before and after vehicle is taken in for service for this issue. Vehicle has been inspected by manufacturer. Warning lamps appear, error message displayed saying "service required" and automatic safety email is generated by FCA and sent to me. Issue first appeared 3 days after purchased and 197 miles on odometer. Manufacturer refuses to properly address the issue. Engine failure has also occurred during this time while actively driving, but I have no idea if its related.

The brake pedal goes to the floor when starting the truck. The dealer has confirmed it. It is available for inspection. My safety and others are in possible danger from failing brakes. The dealer has confirmed the problem. The manufacturer has been involved with the dealer. They opened a "star case" that has not resolved the defect. So far, the problem has only affected the truck while starting. The brake light did come on one time while driving. The truck has been in the dealer service for over 40 days with no resolution. The dealer said on the worksheet that they tested other similar trucks on the lot and were able to duplicate the problem in them. The problem started shortly after I took possession of the truck. I was told that it wasn't a problem and it would go away. I now have 5700 miles on it, and it still malfunctions. I took possession of the truck in Sept of 24.

Since purchasing the vehicle in April, I have had a continuous problem with the brake's and brake system's. The red dash warning chime and red warning light have come on. I have brought the car in 4 times to the dealer for repair, to no avail. This happened before I put 100 miles on the car and has continued. I currently only have about 680 miles. The dealer has "worked" on on it for almost 2 months (bought the car 3 months ago). The following codes keep being set (scan attached). 2 Anti-Lock Brake System Code : C05D2-00 - Master Cylinder Piston Position Higher Than Expected. C0597-00 - Brake System Control Module 'A' Performance. 1 Instrument Panel Cluster Code: B12B7-92 - Instrument Panel Cluster Display. 1 Integrated Trailer Control Module Code: C10C7-00 - Electronic Trailer Brake Control Output.
