About to buy a used car?
Will it car — or will it lemon?
Pick any year, make, and model. We turn every complaint, recall, and investigation the U.S. government has on file into one honest verdict: Buy, Caution, or Avoid — with the math shown.
VINs are decoded with NHTSA vPIC and never stored.
Fresh verdicts
Recently checked by other buyers — updated straight from NHTSA.
How it works
1 · We read the government’s files
Every owner complaint, recall campaign, and defect flag NHTSA has for that exact model-year — thousands of records, fetched fresh.
2 · We score it honestly
Complaint volume (adjusted for how many were sold), crash/fire severity, recall load, and whether problems are still piling up. The formula is public.
3 · You get a straight answer
Buy, Caution, or Avoid — plus what breaks, at what mileage, and what to make the seller prove before money changes hands.
Why trust a website with a silly name?
Because we have nothing to sell you. No dealer listings, no sponsored placements in the score, no “certified” badges for pay. The verdict is computed from public data before any link is rendered, the scoring formula is published in full, and owner reviews are shown as a separate signal — never blended in. When we add affiliate links (parts, VIN history), they’re labeled and they never touch the math.
