The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine sputtered and the vehicle failed to start. While opening the hood, the contact became aware that the insulation on the wire connected to the fuse box had melted. Additionally, the lid on the fuse box was melted. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering). The vehicle was without power and was towed the next day to the dealer. The contact was informed that wires needed to be repaired to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Additionally, there was an abnormal burning odor coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer stated that the failure could not be duplicated and that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer again, diagnosed, and determined that the turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,167.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH in Electric Mode and attempting to merge onto the highway, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving uphill in Electric Mode at 35-37 MPH. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road on both occasions. The vehicle was restarted and pulled into a parking lot. The message "Electric Mode Unavailable" was displayed, and the vehicle entered Gasoline or E- Safe Mode. The vehicle was towed to the dealer on both occasions; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure had occurred a third time, while driving in Hybrid Mode. The contact was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact stated that during each failure, the battery charge exceeded 85 percent. The contact stated that the failure started after several software updates were performed under past recalls. The dealer replaced the steering damper and the front shock absorbers; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the second dealer, where the rear shock absorbers were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
