Sometime between backing into my parking spot at work, then backing into a parking spot at the dentist, My Tailgate released/lowered. When I backed in at the dentist, my back up camera seemed to malfunction, so I just used my mirrors. Apparently, the camera was just pointing at the ground. Sine you can't see your tailgate in the mirrors; I could not see that it hit the retaining wall at the back of the space.

My telematic control module has intermittent connectivity. The check engine light comes on and off and the go's, on star and wifi comes and goes as well. This vehicle has 52k miles on it and is only 2 years old. The shop I took this to said it is VIN specific so the dealer is the only place that can fix it. This is a safety issue due to no onstar as onstar claims to be a safety feature. This needs a recall because this issue is all over the place on gm products.

I have had to replace 2 batteries due to the tailgate opening and shutting randomly even when parked, and ruining my batteries. You recalled the 1500 HD's for the same issue... but yet not this model when it's clearly happening to 1000's. I'd appreciate it being fixed

I am filing this complaint against General Motors (GM) and its affiliated dealership Kunes Chevrolet for the unauthorized installation of a surveillance/tracking device (LoJack) in my vehicle, which resulted in severe personal harm, digital exposure, and downstream targeting. On [XXX], I purchased a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado from Kunes Chevrolet in Morrison, Illinois. I was never informed that a LoJack tracking device had been installed in the vehicle. On [XXX], I appeared in person at the same dealership to confront suspicious activity tied to my vehicle’s GPS data. A service advisor confirmed the presence of a LoJack unit and printed a removal ticket, which should be recorded in GM’s internal service system under my name and VIN. This constitutes verifiable, documented acknowledgment of the unauthorized installation. Consequences of This Violation Include: •Illegal geolocation tracking without consent •Suspected sale or exposure of my driving data to third parties and possible defense-linked contractors •Multiple impersonation attempts, including suspected social and professional infiltration •Psychological harm, loss of employment, opportunities, and repeated digital sabotage •Multiple homicide attempts on my life •FOIA-confirmed military interest in my location (Air Force Case #: [XXX]) •IRS and identity manipulation, suggesting systemic misuse of my physical address, GPS logs, and digital footprint INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving down the road I let off the accelerator to start applying brakes for a red light I was approaching, then the vehicle shut completely off and down shifted hard. After that it restarted a second later but had no power steering and no brakes. At this point I was approaching the red light with no brakes and power of my vehicle, the other traffic had a green light now and was crossing my lane of travel but I was luckily able to make it through the light in between vehicles without causing any harm to myself or others. After making it through the light I was rolling 10mph still helpless but seen a gas station on my right and rolled into their parking lot and drove towards a curb and used the curb to stop my vehicle. The vehicle had the following warning lights and messages: Lane Change Alert System Off, Brake system failure 62mph top speed, service traction control, service ESC, and trailer brakes disabled service required. I then got the vehicle towed to the dealership while still on and in the running position with all the codes still active. The dealer was able to scan the truck in and see the codes but told me they wouldn’t be able to get to it till the following week so they parked the vehicle and turned it off. When they got to my vehicle the following week they sent me a text and said I quote “Hey ****** its **** from Chevy, I do not have the best news lol he can not get it to act up and there are no current codes he has driven and nothing has happened, as of now there is nothing further he can do”. After receiving that text I called them to just be told they can’t get it to do it again and there is nothing they can do. But I told them I refuse to pick up this vehicle because it had a critical safety issue. This vehicle suffered a catastrophic failure, brakes and steering were lost in an intersection. If not diagnosed properly, this poses a threat to life.

On [XXX] the automatic tailgate on my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado began opening and closing without reason. This obviously poses a potential safety issue. After investigating, I found that there is a recall on 2020 to 2024 Silverados, recall # N232426400. I called Penske Chevrolet in Indianapolis to schedule a time for them to confirm the tailgate switch short and execute the recall service. I was informed by Penske that my specific VIN was not included in the recall. This is not acceptable. Reporting indicates there are a number of other Silverado owners in the same position. Please investigate, as the current state of the recall is most certainly not inclusive of all vehicles that are affected. There should be no hesitation by Chevrolet to broaden the recall INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

GM Case#[XXX] #1 A- On [XXX] vehicle sensors disabled breaks while driving on [XXX]. B- Driver Displayed Alert. a- BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62 MHP TOP SPEED. b- TRAILER BRAKES DISABLED SERVICE REQUIRED. c- SERVICE ESC. C- Concerned by alerts proceeded to exit highway, the breaks where unresponsive. This required pressing break pedal to the floor. It took over 400ft for the vehicle to come to a complete stop. Fortunately no other vehicles were on the exit ramp, a major accident was avoided. D- On 10/30/2024 took vehicle to Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall and explained break failure and provided pictures of driver alert messages. E- On 11/1/2024, 3 days after, Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall Technician communicated that vehicle was mechanically fine and were unable to duplicate the problem. I accepted the vehicle back with 5,901 miles of use. #2 A- On [XXX] vehicle sensors disabled breaks again while driving on Miami city street. B- Driver Digital Displayed flashed following Alert Messages. a- SERVICE TRAILER BREAK SYSTEM. b- SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. c- SERVICE ESC. d- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. C- Having experienced this back in October, I knew what to expect. Unresponsive breaks, fortunately on 2nd occasion I was driving slower on a city street and was able to coast to a stop. D- On 4/10/2025 took vehicle back to Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall for the same problem, break failure. I once again explained to Technician what happened, showed them pictures of the Alert Messages. E- Vehicle as of today, 5/18/2025, remains at Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall for a total of 39 days and is yet to be repaired. Given the severity/danger of defective break sensors defects there is “nonconformity” that under the Lemon Law is defined as a defect or condition that substantially impairs use , value, or safety of the vehicle. These 2 incidents make this vehicle unsafe for drivers, passengers, and general public in proximity. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was in stop and go traffic, the truck engine turned off I could not get it to crank. I was stuck in the middle of a busy road for at least an hour until the tow truck driver got there. Since the truck has electric shifting for the transmission, I could not get the truck into neutral to at-least push it to a safe place. I was informed by the dealership that there is no neutral override unless the vehicle is running. The shifting and fuel system “fuel module” failure is a know problem from GM and need to be recalled. If this would have happened on the interstate I don’t think the outcome would be great. The truck is a little over 1 year old and has under 15,000 miles. Very dangerous situation.

While pulling out onto a very busy highway in North Dallas, I had to "step" on it in order to make the turn. Immediatley after making the turn I went to "step" on it and the truck shifted into Neutral with heavy traffic. Luckily I was able to coast to a turning lane safely. Once stopped I was able to place the truck in park. However, after shutting off the truck it was never able to restart. This night was an extremely cold night with subfreezing temperatures. Not being able to start the truck meant no heater and myself and my girlfriend quickly became very cold. After calling OnStar we waiting almost 45 minutes for roadside assistance. However, they were only coming to try and jump start the truck and had to request a second roadside assistance to come and tow the vehicle. The vehicle could not be shifted into Neutral and a flatbed truck had to be used and the truck had to be drug up onto the tow truck. When I first stopped the truck and shifted it into Park, the engine was still running and sounded normal. It just could not be shifted into any gears. However, the GM dealership is telling me the engine seized up and needs to be replaced and could take 4-8 weeks just to locate an engine. Although no one was hurt or injured thankfully, the safety risk when this happened could have been very bad and deadly. Not to mention not being able to have heat during extreme cold temperatures is a safety concern. Had the truck not been able to be parked in a safe area, and not being able to be shifted to Neutral, this also could pose a safety risk.

Transmission seal failure caused fluid to leak, transfer case had metal present and had to be flushed, multiple electrical issues where there was no sound and buttons on back left of steering wheel wouldn't function, vehicle put itself in neutral when passing and gave a conditions not favorable for shift change when I tried to put it in park. Eventually put itself in park and I was able to get home. Dash went black, ticking sounds quickly escalated to the motor blowing thankfully close to a dealership on 1/2/2025. My tailgate randomly opened while the vehicle was parked this fall on three separate occasions. I see there was a recall (N232426400) but it only included the Canadian equipment. Can we be certain the Canadian equipment wasn't used in my vehicle? If the Canadian equipment was faulty it's not a stretch to think the American or other equipment could be too.

Within weeks of buying the truck the Auto STOP/START quit working. I never gave it much thought until after a service visit and it was again working. I asked the dealer and they said the battery voltage dropped below a set level, turning off the Auto STOP/START. It quit again days later and has never worked again. There is no apparent reset. My battery voltage is normal, I have a REDTIGER F7N 4K Dual Dash Cam running 24/7 but it is drawing 4.5 to 5 watts; the car is rarely left parked for more than a day. I was initially bothered that there was no On/Off for the Auto STOP/START but I am even more frustrated that it is no longer working and no apparent reset short of taking the truck to the dealer for service.

On approximately 6 occasions over the past 12 months, either the right front turn lamp or left front turn lamp failed. Most recently this occurred on 8/27/24. When this happens, the entire front head lamp does not work. A warning on the dash shows as "Check Left/Right Front Turn Lamp" and the audible turn signal click is faster than normal. Turning the truck off for approximately 15 minutes fixes the issue until it returns again at random. Having functioning head lamps and turn signals is critical to safely operating a vehicle.

MY Vehicle (2023 Chevrolet Silverado) has been in the shop over 9 times due to issues with the radio. I bought Truck on June 2 and since then have had truck in several times due to a radio issue. Each time i have taken truck in i have been told it's a "Software Update" should be good now. Spoke with GM Customer care and their exact words were shut the radio off drive without it. The radio volume with go full blast while driving even when the radio is turned down low. When this happens, it scares you some wheel jerking. I could see someone getting hurt while this is happening, upon looking at a few different forums i am a part of this is a concern and affects a lot of drivers. The fact GM customer care simply states just shut the radio off is a real concern, We as consumers pay a lot of money for these vehicles this in my opinion is not the correct response. They don't have a fix for this yet is also what the woman from customer care had to say. this truck is over a year old. how is this possible? GM is aware of this issue but has done nothing but continue to put people's lives in danger. I don't think telling their buyers to turn off the radio and drive without it is what should be getting said.

Multiple random electrical issues, including, but not limited to: 1) "Service ESC" warning activates causing the truck to have greatly reduced speed and power. Extremely dangerous at expressway speeds in heavy traffic. 2) Electrical system & engine completely shuts down with no warning. Extremely dangerous for obvious reasons. Temporarily remedied by disconnecting/reconnecting battery, thus resetting the system. Problems have been confirmed by the dealer, Bomnin Chevrolet- Dadeland. Supposedly vehicle has been inspected by a GM "TAC" technician. Vehicle has been and is currently in the possession of the dealer off & on approaching 2 months with no resolution.
