My truck started having the extended start a couple of years ago. It seems when it's warmer outside, sometimes, it will crank for an excessive amount of time before it will start. It was very intermittent and hard to determine exactly when this would occur. Someone told me it was the fuel pump and that the fuel pumps in certain Ford Super Duty models were just faulty. A couple of weeks ago, I was pulling onto the highway from a stop. My check engine light came on and the truck almost stalled. There was a vehicle that had to brake suddenly to avoid this. Now I notice that when I give the truck gas when it's in a higher gear, it hesitates and starts jerking back and forth. I can't drive it now. I know it's the fuel pump. I also have a neighbor that has a 2019 F-250 truck and his truck is doing the exact same thing right now. He said he's had the extended crank for a few years occur to him as well. He contacted the dealership and they told him it's a known issue with the fuel pumps in the Super Duty trucks. There are many videos online of folks reporting the exact same thing as my truck and my neighbors truck. However, we have gas engines and not the diesel engines. I feel the recent recall should be extended to all Super Duty trucks and don't just think it's an issue with the diesel trucks. I'm just wondering if anyone has looked into all the fuel pumps Ford is putting into their Super Duty trucks. It's crazy how so many people are having problems with them whether they have the gas engine or the diesel engines. Thanks!

Truck lunges forward when at stop light, in drive and foot on the brake. Almost rear ended another driver. Did this several times. Also, when merging on highway and try to pick up speed the truck bogs down and hesitates almost got into two accidents because of this. Also loud clunking and banging on start up and when idling.

In Re REPEAT complaints, 22S09 NHTSA Recall Number22v087 Stephanie at Ford Recalls arranged for Lenoir City Ford to do a quick inspection of the UNDERBODY INSULATION. We agreed no other work was to be done. L.C. REFUSED to inspect the underbody insulation in re this NHTSA Recall. The Service Writer was caught LYING TO ME 4 TIMES, demanding they could not do the Inspection without an appointment (Ford Rep said she had arranged otherwise) then stated they had to inspect wiring (irrelevant) and driveshaft (irrelevant, no loose insulation so there cannot be driveshaft damage). I put a Google Review on line (K8BYP) with all these details. This is the THIRD Ford Dealer that has refused or failed to inspect for this safety hazard.

Truck has 46,000 miles on it. While driving and reaching the speed of 55mph the truck stayed violently shaking, causing me to reduce speed to steady the truck. This has happened on more than one occasion, and seems to be getting worse. The truck was manufactured at the Kentucky plant in December of 2019.

Same as my previous Complaint dated yesterday, 10/3/2024, Ray Varner Ford, a Ford Dealer, tried to sell me the wrong Power Steering Fluid for this truck. I gave the Vehicle year, make, model and VIN # and they still tried to sell me passenger car steering fluid. Varner Ford LLC 2026 N Charles G Seviers Blvd, Clinton TN 37716 on Invoice [XXX], on which I purchased brake fluid but rejected the wrong PS fluid. This 250 3/4 ton truck uses Ford Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), not power steering fluid, and adding the wrong fluid will result in system damage, failure and possibly accident if steering control is lost. A mechanic at a local Tire and Lube business told me that adding this incorrect fluid will result in damage to the seals in the PS system, so apparently this is a known problem. I am an Engineer in several capacities (Electronic, Mechanical, Automotive) and have studied motor vehicle fluids and lubricants in chemical and physical properties details. 2020 Ford 250 TRUCK, not light passenger veicle. A Ford Dealer, Ted Russell Parkside, 9925 Parkside Dr in Knoxville TN, sold me the WRONG POWER STEERING FLUID FOR THIS COMMERCIAL VEHICLE (TRUCK). Invoice [XXX] dated 10/02/2024. The purpose was routine maintenance on a nearly new truck. They sold me passenger CAR Power Steering (PS) fluid, not the correct Motocraft Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) : 1. ) as clearly specified on page 367 of the vehicles Owners Manual 2.) as obvious by looking at the dark red fluid, its obviously Ford ATF I took the steering fluid back to this Ford Dealer who blamed the mistake on a computer printout, which is a false excuse considering point 1.) above. The Parts Manager tried to blame me for the mistake stating I hadnt supplied the vehicles VIN number so they could look up the correct fluid. That was a deliberate LIE as: 1.) The Owner can find the correct fluid without knowing VIN as in 1.) above 2.) The Dealers Parts Employee neither asked for the VIN nor went out to get it as the vehicle was on their parking lot at the time of sale, 3.) An attempt at Blaming the Victim (me) which is a deliberate deceptive tactic Replacing the steering fluid in this heavy truck with the wrong, passenger car fluid, will result in fluid failure because normal PS fluid does not have the high pressure additive chemicals that are in the correct ATF. The wrong fluid will not lubricate the steering pump or rack in operation, especially at heavy loads, and cause excessive metal-to-metal wear and probably longer term steering failure which can result in accident or death. This further could be a deliberate fraud, as the un-knowing vehicle Owner would see system failure at some time in the future without being able to link the steering failure to installing the wrong fluid. THis vehicle was purchased new from Ray Varner Ford, CLinton TN. Ford issued a Safety REcall notice for insulating material contacting the driveshaft. I took this vehicle to Varner who said they inspected it but found no defect. Last year, the vehicle was seen by the Ford Dealer in St Augustine FL, who told me the Safety Recall had not been addressed. When I explained that Varner had (at least claimed to have)_ inspected it, the Rep said "if so , they didnt enter it into the computer system." I have contacted Ford who essentially ignored the matter.

I attempted to return to 65 mph again and it started shaking even worse. I pulled off at the next exit examined the truck and it looked fine. I just drove it home at 50 mph. No warning lights or maintenance lights came on.

The headlights have failed multiple times causing bulbs to stop working or “blow”. Changed headlight bulbs approximately 4 times in the 18 months. Safety became an issue due to decreased lighting while driving. Also becomes a safety risk due to not being able to have the vehicle properly inspected by the state of WV. The problem has been discussed with the local ford dealer multiple times with no further progress other than discussions. No warning lamps or other problems prior.
