I was made aware of a potential issue with my vehicles steering knuckle breaking where it connects to the upper control arm. I was also informed that Land Rover has done a recall in the UK for this same issue. I checked my vehicle and it does indeed hav a crack in the steering knuckle. This could have caused a catastrophic issue if it had broken completely at any road speed. This needs to be evaluated as soon as possible, before anyone dies.

The vehicle has significant cracks in both front end knuckles. This appears to be an issue in 2014-2016 L405 models. Both the Canadian and UK authorities have issued recalls for this issue. Fortunately I discovered this issue before complete failure as I came across a video highlighting this issue on YouTube. The channel is called ‘LR Time’. The vehicle had been in for a state inspection and suspension work twice in the last two months and the JLR dealership failed to identify the issue either time

AS I WAS BACKING OUT MY DRIVEWAY I HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE AND THEN NOTICED THAT MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE HAS COLLAPSED MAKING THE CAR UN-DRIVEABLE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A DANGEROUS LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THERE I WAS TOLD THAT RANGE ROVER IN CANADA AND THE UK HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME MALFUNCTION. MY RANGE ROVER HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICE BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS AT LOW MILEAGE FOR THE YEAR OF THE CAR. NEVER HAD ANYONE WHO INSPECTED OR DID WORK ON THE CAR SAW ANY EVIDENCE THAT SOMETHING WAS READY TO BREAK. IT HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED AT A COST OF $8031.68. I REPORTED TO LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA THEY HAVE DECLINED TO RECOGNIZE ANY FAULT ON THEIR END AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR WHEN THEY HAVE SEEN THIS IN OTHER COUNTRIES ON MY SAME MODEL AND YEAR. HERE IS THE CANADIAN RECALL #N759 FOR STEERING KNUCKLE COLLAPSED.

My 2015 range rover had a catastrophic failure of the driver side steering knuckle while underway. This caused me to lose control of the vehicle and the wheel almost fell off the car. Fortunately, I was going less than 30 mph. The failure was caused by the regular application of brakes approaching an intersection. Without the support of the steering knuckle the wheel has no support and the steering and braking are compromised. The vehicle is currently at the landrover dealership in Bedford NH and has been inspected and the repair is estimated to cost 7900. An additional 3000 to replace the passenger side steering knuckle as well. There were no warning lamps or signs of the failure prior to the incident. The car has very low mileage for age and is exceptionally well maintained. Upon further investigation I discovered that hundreds of owners around the world and in the USA have experienced the same random failure on their 2015 model Range Rover. Both Landrover Canada and Land rover UK have issued safety recalls(N759 recall number) for the same year and model of my vehicle. Land Rover USA has not issued a recall and I think this is a major safety issue for this vehicle. The NHTSA should look into this. Clearly there was a bad batch of parts in the 2015 year and they have subsequently redesigned the parts. I've uploaded a couple of example letters for the international recalls. Yes the part is available for inspection or you can google it and see 100s of similar failures.

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission inadvertently shifted from the drive(D) to neutral(N) and the vehicle lost motive power. A bystander helped shift the transmission into park(P) and then into drive(D). The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle failed to restart while at the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

1. The EPAS system detached from the steering rack (caused by the three bolts that attach the EPAS to the steering rack being fractured and corroded due to saltwater ingress (inter crystalline corrosion) causing a loss of steering control. 2. This caused loss of steering control and presented a potentially catastrophic driving condition. 3. The problem has been confirmed by a JLR dealer. 4. This problem has been recognized by Canadian authorities who issued a recall (Transport Canada Recall #2018-180). Further, in the UK, the UK Government DVSA secured and agreement from JLR tp "fix upon failure" which may have been changed to a general recall. Lastly, BMW of North America issued a letter in September, 2018 proactively recalling all cars possibly affected by this issue to be inspected by their service departments and corrective action taken free of charge. 5. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to failure.

While driving on the highway, I heard a loud pop and then my car lost acceleration. When I tried to press on gas, it made a loud whining noise and struggled to get above 40-50 MPH. I took it to mechanic and they said that the turbo had a defect and wasn’t working properly. Had to replace entire turbo

My car has 58000 miles And the alternator failed on the way due to valve cover gasket leaking oil on top of alternator to and ultimately fail. Due to alternator failure the cars driving features shutdown within few seconds all the warning lights came up and emergency braking, suspension and gears stopped working. This is a serious concern as the car systems shutdown this could have put me in a dangerous situations in mountains

Front right knuckle cracked and separated from upper control arm ball joint causing front lower control arm ball joints to fail and inner CV axle joint to separate and also cause damage to air spring. The part failure occurred while I was driving and the vehicle lost all control. I feared greatly for my safety and if I were on a highway, I could've crashed into other vehicles. The manufacturer has recall campaigns for this exact issue in the UK and Canada, but not the US. The vehicle was repaired at a manufacturer dealer at my expense. The manufacturer is aware of the problem with my vehicle. There were no warning lights or signs whatsoever. The part fails without warning.

Iam writing to express my deep concern regarding safety recall N759v2 issued for 2014-2016 Range Rover L405 vehicles in the United Kingdom and Canada. It has come to my attention that this safety recall has not yet been formally announced for the same vehicles in the United States. I am the owner of a 2015 Range Rover HSE, with the VIN: [XXX] . As a responsible vehicle owner, I prioritize the safety and well-being of myself, my passengers, my children, and fellow road users. The lack of a safety recall announcement for the same vehicles in the United States has raised concerns about the safety of my vehicle. Given the seriousness of safety recalls and their potential impact on public safety, I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC to issue a recall in the USA to conduct a thorough inspection of my vehicle to ensure it meets the required safety standards. I believe it is crucial to take proactive steps to address any potential safety issues promptly and to ensure the safety of all individuals on the road. My attempts to contact JLR have been unsuccessful despite a number of USA based vehicles falling in the VIN range having failed steering knuckles. I would appreciate it if you could schedule an inspection at the soonest available date and communicate the details to me. Additionally, if any safety-related concerns are identified during the inspection, I request that appropriate actions be taken to rectify them in compliance with the highest safety standards. I am including comprehensive details about the safety-related recall to elaborate further on this matter. Threads on this matter are widely available online: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

During routine maintenance (motor oil change), I discovered the transfer case leaking oil from a sealing cap. Upon further investigation, I discovered Land Rover is aware of the issue and they have a Technical Bulletin (LTB00834NAS1) for the repair. I contacted Land Rover Corporate and the local dealer, they both refused to repair it free of charge since the vehicle is out of warranty. This is a safety issue and Land Rover should repair it with a recall. If all the oil leaks out (transfer case only holds approx 1 pint), the transfer case would seize and potentially cause a crash.

I was driving on the highway and my turbo went out. My car has not been the same since. I’ve taken it to the deal many times but the engine is not the same and the car shakes when idol and does not properly accelerate

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and slowing down to merge into traffic, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the RPM revved however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated the "gear box fault" warning light was illuminated. The contact coasted off to the side of the road. The vehicle came to a stop and the contact turned off the vehicle. When the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle failed to shift into drive and instead remained in neutral. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the secondary battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V614000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The contact has stated that the vehicle is no longer in their possession.

Steering completely went on my car. Thankfully I was just backing out of the driveway. I had to have the car towed to the dealership b/c it was completely undrivabe. If I had been driving on the highway, I don't know what would have happened. Absolutely no warning lights came on. The issue is a bolt snapped due to corrosion. The Land Rover dealership told me they need to replace the steering gearbox. I have done some research and have found this issue has been recalled in the UK and Canada but not in the US. The dealer acknowledged this is a known issue but that it has not been recalled in US yet.

The Land Rover dealership inspecting my vehicle for routine service, found that both front spindles (right and left) had significant fatigue cracks in the metal of the front spindle assembly. The dealership stated it was a critical safety issue, and the entire front spindle assembly could break off or detach from the car while driving. The dealership will not allow the car to be driven in this condition. This vehicle has only 38,350 miles on it, and it is exclusively used for commuting between home and work. It has never been used off-road or in any improper manner. The metal (aluminum) used to forge the factory spindle assembly is defective and will prematurely crack under the weight of the vehicle and poses an immediate and potentially fatal danger to the driver and occupants.

Two month ago , i bought this 2015 Landover Evoque a week later i smelled fuel gasoline odor , after a close inspection , found gasoline leaking from the right rear of the vehicle's tire above the gas tank , am a mechanic by hobby , started digging in online and found the same issue with other landcovers see below (( Makes/Models/Model Years: LAND ROVER/LR4/2010-2016 LAND ROVER/RANGE ROVER SPORT/2010-2013 Mfr's Report Date: August 12, 2021 NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V-635 Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP:MOUNTING PLATE/FLANGE Potential Number of Units Affected: 111,746 Problem Description: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2010-2013 Range Rover Sport and 2010-2016 LR4 vehicles equipped with 3.0L V6 or 5.0L V8 engines. Vehicle has stress cracking bilaterally on front bumper where it meets the fender , looks like it is due to heat or excess tension from headlight. Cracks are split down the sides symmetrically and end result is requiring a brand new bumper at thousands of dollars. LTB00738NAS2 Is a technical bulletin describing exact issue but land rover states this bulletin doesn’t matter to me as I am out of factory warranty and there is no recall. The bumper being adrift reduces safety of the vehicle and interferes with alignments of sensors used for parking, collision avoidance, and other ADAS systems.

2015 Evoque cam failed and ruined the engine at 68k miles. The cost of the repair exceeds the value of the car (about $17k). No one will fix it for this reason. It shifted into neutral unexpectedly causing a potential traffic hazard. It was impossible to move it out of the roadway without the assistance of a tow truck (parking brakes lock, and gear selector becomes useless.) After some research this seems to be a fairly common known issue. This is very unsafe, and financially devasting on a financed car. There were no warnings and no prior issues up to the time of incident.

After driving the vehicle for 30 miles or more and parking in the garage, a very strong gas odor fills the garage; the vehicle has to be parked outside in the driveway.

MY CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO A DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES REGARDING WHAT I BELIEVED WERE SEIZED AND LEAKING MAGNERIDE SHOCKS. WHEN ON FREEWAY AND CAR HIT A BUMP THE WHOLE CAR WOULD GIVE A LOUD THUMP AND STABILITY WAS SERIOUSLY COMPROMISED TO THE POINT TURNS DID NOT FEEL SAFE IF THERE WAS A 'ROUGH' ROAD. DEALER FAILED TO RECOGNIZE IT EVEN AFTER ME BRINGING IT IN AND STATING THE PROBLEM AS THEY SAID THAT ISSUE WOULD BE MORE RARE. HAD A THIRD PARTY INSTALL NEW MAGNERIDE SHOCKS... 2 WERE COMPLETELY SEIZED UP IN EXTENDED POSITION ALMOST TO THE POINT THEY COULDN'T BE REMOVED AND A THIRD WAS LEAKING. THERE IS NO MENTION OF ANY SERVICE, LIFESPAN, OR MAINTENANCE ON THE MAGNERIDE SHOCKS. WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF SUSPENSION REMOVAL, BOTH FRONT AXLES WERE BROKEN AS THE INSTALLER NOTICED THE FRONT AXLE THREADS WERE STRIPPED AT THE HUB AND ONE NUT SIEZED AND ANOTHER WAS DANGEROUSLY LOOSE... ENDED UP NEEDING TWO NEW FRONT AXLES AND WHEEL BEARING. THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE REACTION BETWEEN THE METALS, THE HUBS ARE ALUMINIUM AND THE BOLTS ARE STEEL AND THAT CAUSES GALVANIC CORROSION AND CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD THERE BE SHEARING OR BREAKAGE WHILE DRIVING IT COULD BE LETHAL AND IT'S A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW.
