My 2015 Land Rover Range Rover underwent recall-related suspension repair work at Land Rover Orlando. Shortly after the repair, I began hearing an extremely loud noise from the front of the vehicle. The noise was severe enough that I informed the dealership I was afraid to drive the vehicle. I sent videos of the noise to the dealership. After reviewing the videos, dealership personnel advised that the issue was likely related to the air strut assembly or control arm bushings. The vehicle was later inspected by an independent mechanic. During that inspection, it was discovered that the front brake caliper bracket mounting bolts were not properly secured. On the driver's side, mounting bolts were reportedly missing. On the passenger side, mounting bolts were found extremely loose and could be removed by hand. The mechanic documented the condition with photographs and video evidence. The brake caliper bracket is a critical brake system component, and I believe this condition created a significant safety risk. Had the bracket separated or shifted while driving, it could have resulted in loss of braking performance, vehicle damage, loss of vehicle control, a crash, serious injury, or death. The abnormal noise began shortly after the recall repair. I reported the issue to the dealership at that time. The condition was later confirmed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle is currently undergoing repair. I am submitting this complaint because the condition involved a critical brake component and occurred following recall-related service work.

Known Recall Issue: The failure pattern aligns with known manufacturer defect categories involving: •Engine torque / internal engine failure conditions •Cooling system failure leading to overheating Shortly after I purchased my 2015 Range Rover, I started to have repeated and escalating safety-critical failures involving sudden loss of power, engine malfunction, and vehicle shutdown while driving at highway speeds. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of complete or partial power loss while in motion, resulting in near-collision events. Despite repeated repairs by authorized dealerships, the underlying defect has not been resolved. The failure pattern suggests a systemic mechanical defect involving engine performance and cooling system integrity rather than isolated maintenance issues. The primary safety concern is sudden loss of propulsion while driving at highway speeds, which has occurred on more than one occasion. These incidents present a significant risk of: •Rear-end collisions •Loss of vehicle control •Serious injury or fatality TECHNICAL FAILURE PATTERN Observed progression of failure: •Oil leakage / burning smell •Internal engine degradation symptoms •Cooling system failure and overheating •Electrical instability •Final engine shutdown / seizure events This suggests a systemic mechanical defect affecting engine integrity and thermal management systems. REQUEST FOR INVESTIGATION I respectfully request NHTSA to: 1.Investigate potential safety defects in this vehicle and model year 2.Evaluate whether similar failures are occurring in other vehicles 3.Assess adequacy of existing recall coverage 4.Review risk associated with sudden engine shutdown while driving 5.Determine whether recall expansion or additional safety action is warranted

My car has 58000 miles And the alternator failed on the way due to valve cover gasket leaking oil on top of alternator to and ultimately fail. Due to alternator failure the cars driving features shutdown within few seconds all the warning lights came up and emergency braking, suspension and gears stopped working. This is a serious concern as the car systems shutdown this could have put me in a dangerous situations in mountains

I HAD BACKED IN TO THE GARAGE AND TURNED THE 'KNOB' TO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, I HAD REMOVED MY SEATBELT BUT NOT EXITED THE CAR YET AND THE CAR WENT BACKWARDS WITH SOME FORCE AND BREAKING DIDN'T STOP IT, ONLY AFTER I HIT THE BUTTON TO CUT IT OFF, MULTIPLE TIMES, DID IT FINALLY SHUT DOWN. MY HUSBAND WAS BEHIND THE CAR, GETTING READY TO GET THE GROCERIES OUT OF THE REAR. THIS VEHICLE STRUCK HIM AND WENT THRU THE KITCHEN WALL OF OUR CONDO. HIS LEG WAS STUCK UNDER THE TIRE WHICH THAT WAS TURNING ON TOP OF HIS CALF. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THE CAR WAS IN PARK BC NOT ONLY WAS THE KNOB SET AT P BUT ALSO THE P WAS ON THE SCREEN. ONLY CERTAIN BECAUSE I'M ALWAYS CAUTIOUS DUE TO THE PROXIMITY OF DISTANCE OF EVERYTHING IN THE GARAGE AND TIGHT QUARTERS.

THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND I EXITED THE VEHICLE. I WENT INSIDE AN ADJACENT BUILDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE. I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND OPENED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I PICKED UP MY KEY FOB AND PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY AND STRUCK A PARKED CAR AND PINNED ME BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE OPENED PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. MY HAND WAS PRESSED BETWEEN THE CAR DOOR AND A LIGHT POLE IN THE PARKING LOT. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND PRESSED THE ENGINE BUTTON AND THE GEAR SHIFTER EMERGED AND WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER THEN SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE PARKING BRAKE CONTINUED TO ENGAGE AND THE TIRES WOULD NOT ROLL FREELY.

09/06/18 I WAS STOPPED ,WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, WAITING TO TURN LEFT BECAUSE THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SUDDENLY, WHILE I STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND I HAD TO VEER AND SWERVE TO MISS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. 09/07/18 IT WAS ABOUT 10:50 AM AND I WAS PREPARING TO PARK NEXT TO A STORE. AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK, AGAIN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL AND I WAS THRUST UP THE CURB, ACROSS A SIDE WALK AND THRU THE STORE FRONT. EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, IT WOULDN'T STOP. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND THE STORE MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE SLOWED ON ITS OWN. IT WAS PLACED ON A TOW TRUCK AND DELIVERED TO THE H&H PREMIER AUTOMOTIVE IN OMAHA. LAND ROVER ENGINEERS AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY ARE INVESTIGATING MY CASE NUMBER WITH LAND ROVER IS 8000569280 I DO HAVE PICTURES IF YOU EMAIL ME I CAN ATTACH THEM TO THAT EMAIL. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS. I'M AFRAID RANGE ROVER WILL NOT ADMIT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A MAJOR RECALL BUT SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE KILLED IF THIS CONTINUES.

AT AROUND 12:40PM ON JULY 10TH, 2018. MY COUSIN AND I WERE PARKING THE 2015 EVOQUE IN A GARAGE DRIVEWAY. THE DRIVEWAY HAS A SLIGHT DOWN SLOPE AND 3 OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME SO BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED TO MANEUVER. AS I WAS COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED HARD AND QUICKLY. I TRIED TO HOLD THE BRAKE BUT IT SEEMED IT HAD NO EFFECT. THE CAR ENDED UP HITTING THE END OF THE GARAGE STRUCTURE. 911 WAS CALLED SHORTLY AFTER. ON JULY 12TH, THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS ALREADY DEEMED THE CAR A TOTAL LOSS.

TAKATA RECALL, ON THURSDAY , 7-7-16 I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 40,000 MILE CHECK UP/OIL CHANGE/UPDATE. LAND ROVE/ NIELLO IN ROCKLIN, CA KEPT MY CAR DUE TO ADDITIONAL NEEDS SUCH AS ECO STOP MALFUNCTION. WHEN RETURNING THE RENTAL ON WEDNESDAY THE 13TH THE SERVICE MANAGER [XXX] HAD ME PAY AND SIGN MY 5 PAGE RECEIPT/ INSPECTION. AT THIS TIME [XXX] MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKES WERE GETTING LOW AND NEEDED TO BE CHANGED FOR NEW BRAKES OR THE CALIBERS/ROTORS COULD DAMAGE, WHICH IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP HAD 3 WHOLE BUSINESS DAYS TO INFORM ME ABOUT BRAKE PADS BEING LOW BUT FAILED TO DO SO IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEN WHEN CHECKING OUT THEY TOLD ME I COULD HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED IN MY HOMETOWN PROVIDING ME THE PARTS NUMBER. THE VERY NEXT MORNING I WAS DRIVING IN MOTION ESTIMATING 15 MPH. ON A 25 MPH STREET I LIVE ON, DEGARMO AND ESPLANADE. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED THE BRAKE WENT TO THE FLOOR. IMMEDIATELY I HAD LES SCHUAB TIRES MEASURE THE BRAKE/ROTORS/CALIBERS. THE TIRE CENTERS MEASUREMENTS DIFFERED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT ROCKLIN. MANAGER FROM LES SHCUAB TOLD ME THESE PARTS HAPPEN OVER TIME NOT RESULTING FROM A SUDDEN CRASH. I COPIED THE MEASUREMENTS AND ASKED LAND ROVER ROCKLIN AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF NORTH AMERICA TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN MEASUREMENTS SINCE IT CAUSED MY CRASH AND I PAID OUT OF WARRANTY FOR EVERYTHING WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. THEY TURNED DOWN THE OFFER TO REVIEW MY PAPERWORK. SINCE THE CRASH THE SAFETY RECALL P091: OR (NHTSA) 16V- SINCE THE CRASH THE SAFETY RECALL P091(NHTSA16V-614 HAS CAME OUT AND THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY HAS CLAIMED TO DO UPDATES & FIX THE ISSUE I HAD TO GET AAA TO TOW ME DOWN AFTER THE ISSUE WORSENED ON VEHICLE. THEY HAVE BEEN IN MY OPINION NEGLIGENT, UNETHICAL, UN-PROFESSIONAL. BY REPORTING THIS I HOPE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING IN A WORSE CIRCUMSTANCE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (3-door) verdict →
