Steering u-joint sticks and prevents steering wheel from turning without a catch/hitch . Not evident at lower speeds but is prevalent at speeds 50 and above. The photos attached show the part and one picture shows a YouTube video showing the EXACT problem. The video title is shown in picture: Dangerous Steering Problem And it is very scary at the higher speeds when it sticks and you have to exert force to move it to right or left. Trying to stay in a lane is a problem!! Electronic steering was checked by dealer last year and they found nothing as they probably didn’t test drive it at the higher speeds; has continued till today and after a road trip yesterday I went online and found this information!

The vehicle is a 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. While driving in traffic, the engine suddenly stalled and shut off without warning. This created an immediate safety risk as the vehicle lost power in the middle of active traffic flow, requiring me to quickly maneuver to avoid blocking traffic and potential collision. The issue appears consistent with a fuel delivery or fuel pressure failure, as the engine restarted immediately after the stall. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had shown intermittent warning signs including check engine light activation and suspected misfire-related alerts. The problem has not yet been fully reproduced or confirmed by a dealer as a root cause, although the vehicle has been presented for service and was found to have no active recall tied to the VIN according to the dealership. No formal inspection or diagnosis confirming the exact failed component has been completed yet. No police, insurance representatives, or manufacturer inspectors have examined the vehicle at this time. Warning lamps (check engine light) and possible misfire-related symptoms were present prior to the failure. These symptoms appeared intermittently over the weeks leading up to the stall, particularly after periods of low fuel operation. Based on the symptoms and behavior, the incident closely matches known fuel system issues reported in similar Ford Mustang EcoBoost vehicles, including those associated with fuel pressure loss leading to engine stall while driving. The suspected system involved is the low-pressure fuel delivery system (fuel pump or related components), which is available for inspection upon request.

I scheduled my appointment to get the recalls taken care of and the car went into "protective mode" as soon as the call was made. I took it into the shop and now I have to pay for the diagnostic to turn my adaptive cruise control back on. The cruise control is a subset of the recall issue and I am being charge. It is at Metro Ford in Tupelo, Mississippi. I called the Ford recall center for help, but they put me off and said I should get a call from someone next week. I am paying for the diagnostic and repair because I have to and I need my car, but Ford is running a recall scam.

This recall describes a known safety-related defect which can stall the vehicle while driving, thus increasing the risk of a crash. After 8 months without developing a remedy, that danger remains every time I drive my beloved Mustang. Is Ford waiting for numerous deaths due to this issue before making the cure a reality? What is the explanation for the lack of a cure? Evidently Ford has produced a fine looking automobile which should sit in one's garage instead of confidently driving it.

While driving approximately 45 mph and entering a highway, my 2022 Ford Mustang GT California Special suddenly lost power and shut off completely. The engine stalled without warning, creating a dangerous situation with surrounding traffic. I had to coast the vehicle and restart it. This vehicle has an open safety recall (NHTSA Recall Number 25V455 / Ford Recall 25S75) related to a low-pressure fuel pump failure that can cause engine stalling while driving. The recall has been open for several months, and there is currently no available remedy or repair from the manufacturer. The incident I experienced matches the recall description exactly. Despite the known safety risk, the manufacturer has not provided a fix, leaving the vehicle unsafe to operate. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others due to the risk of repeated engine stalling at highway speeds.

On April 6th, the AC in the car began stalling and a few days after the engine started making all sorts of noise and failing and ultimately stopped working. I kept the car in my garage until I was able to obtain the money to replace the engine. I just yesterday picked up my car from the shop that replaced the engine (where I paid $13,000). The car is back in the shop and having same stalling issues.

Rear camera is not working. When I put the car into reverse I get a blue screen and then an error message stating my rear camera is not available. The sensors still work, if a car/object is close to me the car does beep but I cannot see behind me using my camera. This puts my safety at risk because I cannot see behind me as well as I could with the camera and could potentially hit a car and/or object. My car is at a Ford dealership right now getting looked at to see what could be the cause of this issue. This problem has been happening for the past few months, it started as it would stop working every now and then but work for the most part and now it does not work at all.

May 29, 2025Transmission & drivetrain

Yes, if the NHTSA communicates with me that they need to look at my transmission, and I am either provided another equal mode of transportation or paid for my lack of ability to use my vehicle during inspection/possession/out of service by the NHTSA. 10R80 10 speed transmission was finally replaced under warranty by FORD in January. The new transmission has been problematic and getting worse since march. Transmission flairs/slips. Transmission acts as if the brakes are put on at times/acceleration is greatly decreased for no reason. Hard shifts at times… I and other others are put at risk due my car, responds erratically and this could become a safety issue by causing a crash or loss of control by the Ford MACH 1 Mustang. Transmission often is too high gear and the as a result, the engine is lugging too much. No idiot, lights or warning lights have come on this go round. The police have not inspected the transmission. I would not expect them or ask them to inspect the transmission because I would assume 99% of them would know very little to nothing about it. Same goes with the insurance company. Ford and Chevy the two manufacturers of this transmission are both aware of the multiple problems of this poorly designed and manufactured transmission. I was not sure what incident date you wanted. The first transmission or second transmission? There are multiple incidents and issues starting from my first ownership of the car when I first test drove the car and had 550 miles on it. The original and replacement transmission are both and have been problematic and unsafe.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that after being stored in the brand-new garage with concrete flooring, the vehicle failed to start without warning. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the soy-based wires had been damaged by rodents. The voltage box and security box wires were chewed on by mice. The same failure had occurred the prior year. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and confirmed there was no warranty coverage or presumption of law for a buyback. The failure mileage was approximately 6,100.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 Ford Mustang verdict →
