The contact owns a 2020 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds there was a humming sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The contact stated that intermittently the vehicle hesitated to start. The tire pressure warning light illuminated; however, the tires were new, and the air pressure was correct. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. Approximately three days later, the vehicle began making a clicking and vibrating sound while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was shaking while driving at various speeds. While attempting to pull out of the garage the vehicle began making a clicking sound as if the engine was failing and the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle jumpstarted. The contact stated that the failure occurred once the temperature outside was colder. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the hybrid system failed, and the contact inquired about trading the vehicle. The dealer inspected the vehicle a second time and determined that there was no failure found. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that immediately after her husband had left the dealer after an oil change, the "Stop Safely Now" and "Check Engine" messages appeared on the instrument panel after an attempt to start the vehicle. Several attempts were made to restart the vehicle; after the vehicle was started, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The vehicle was scanned; however, the dealer failed to duplicate the DTC code received on the scanner. The battery was reset, and the messages were cleared off the vehicle. The contact stated that several days later, the contact's husband received a "Battery Preserve Mode" message through the Ford App about the vehicle. The following day, the contact's husband experienced the failure that had occurred after the oil change. The contact stated that after a successful restart of the vehicle, the messages disappeared. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed about NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System) which the agent linked to the vehicle failure; however, the contact was then informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

The vin does not show a safety recall however the exact year, make, and model shows the same problem I am experiencing. my 2020 ford fusion hybrid is in service again. been getting service with same issues since 2022 to current. I lose power, had battery replaced check engine light on I had the battery replaced again, currently being service I was informed yesterday that in the back of the car by the motor there were noise and found out wires were fried, I was informed the car needs a new PCM... power control model. same as the recall on the 2020 ford fusion recall. but does not show up under my vin number which is. [XXX] . but the car is still at RON TIRAPELLI FORD. 4355 W JEFFERSON ST. SHOREWOOD, IL 60404. I was also informed that the PCM is on back order, and it is on back order until next November of next year. my car sits at the dealership until then. but the sound of things the car could have started on fire harm anyone in or near it and could have destroyed the car and leave me stranded. Ford installed 3g modems knowing the network would be shutdown. This causes most things on the infotainment center to stop working such as the vehicle GPS and most recently the Bluetooth command button. Updates have failed to resolve the issues. It is illegal for me to be distracted while driving, however, all of my distractions come from dealing with the infotainment and connectivity issues that were built into my vehicle.

This has been a constant since I purchased vehicle in May 2020. If the car is parked in directly sunlight and I return to the car after a "Front camera temporarily unavailable" message will appear. The system works fine I have tested it very cautiously. It happens more when the outside temperature is 90 - 100 degrees. Living in California that means it happens more frequently than I like. Took it in to be checked in 2020 and was told to avoid parking in direct sunlight and that until enough complaints are filed nothing can be done. I took it in for an oil change today (09/24/2022 - 29,800 miles) with dealer and brought it up to service writer who told me he thinks the camera is faulty and may need to be replaced which is different from what I was told before. Glad there hasn't been any major incidents but having that message come up makes me second guess trusting it. And I think its ridiculous that I have to consider parking in shade in my still brand new vehicle. Hoping more complaints come in before I'm stuck with the bill to fix/replace which is what I believe Ford is hoping will happen. The first picture I will include is the first time this happened in July 2020 and 4k miles and the most recent this month.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2020 Ford Fusion Hev verdict →
