Was driving on [XXX] from Sioux Falls, SD to Rapid City, SD on [XXX]. Just east of the [XXX], SD exit, we hit black ice driving approximately 75mph. We lost control, and the car went head first into a metal cable guard rail. The front end is destroyed, and the front doors and roof also received significant damage. I do believe that insurance is going to consider it a total loss based upon my observation and the response of the body shop it is currently at. None of the airbags deployed, even given the speed we were driving and the direct head on impact. The Trooper originally said that he was not going to ticket me for anything as I was driving under the speed limit and not overdriving, however, came back later and said that he would have to ticket me because the DOT would throw a fit if he didn't because they would have to fix the guard rail. My car is a 2017 Nissan Rogue hybrid. It jerks a lot when moving, when it starts moving, I feel that the electric engine does not provide power and it switches to a gasoline engine, while the car jerks strongly and can jerk sharply when I release the gas pedal. When moving backwards, it also jerks strongly; when moving uphill, you have to press the gas pedal hard to climb the hill. I found out that this car model often had problems with the brakes and the Nissan company repaired these cars and recalled them. 2022-2024 Nissan CVT Transmission Settlement Update (Rogue ... Nissan agreed to pay over $277 million as part of the settlement to resolve certain defective transmissions claims. The following Nissan models are included in the 2022 Nissan CVT settlement: 2014 – 2018 Nissan Rogue. 2015 – 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. One of the auto mechanics reported that when you press the gas pedal a little, the electric motor does not push the car, does not move the car forward, there is no force in it. But already when driving, it is triggered, since the car is on the move and moves by inertia. This auto mechanic reported that the problem is with this electric motor and it is attached to the transmission, and to replace it, you need to completely change the transmission with this electric motor. I ask you to please help me in solving this problem, because of this I am very worried and worried, it is difficult to communicate with Nissan representatives.

I am the owner of a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV FWD. Bought the vehicle back in October 2022 with a clear history with no prior accidents reported on the vehicle. Recently while driving to work, my brakes on my 2017 Nissan Rogue suddenly braked or locked up without me pressing the brake pedal. There was no vehicles in ahead of me nor in back of me yet still the brakes engaged. This has caused my 2017 Nissan Rogue to lose traction and hydroplane across the lanes on the freeway and in doing so sending me crashing into the concrete barrier in the medium. It has been raining that day and while it was raining at the time of the incident, me hydroplaning unexpectedly was inevitable. The impact with the concrete barrier send me careening backward to now face the oncoming traffic that were behind me more than two hundred feet away. I look to the dash and discovered the "automatic braking" light on. Not wanting to get struck by oncoming drivers, I managed to move my vehicle to a safe location and turn the engine off. I like to also add that the driver side airbag on the 2017 Nissan Rogue DID NOT deploy from the impact. No drivers or other vehicles were struck damaged or impact from the incident. I have started a claim on the night of the incident and my vehicle is currently being inspected by my insurance agent.

On many occasions, the AEB (FEB) engages on its own, when there is not vehicle or item in the car's path. This is a safety issue, as it can happen in traffic, which is likely to cause a collision. This week I took the vehicle to Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA and made them aware of the situation. I was told, "This is a technologically advanced vehicle. If dirt or debris is on the front of the vehicle, it can cause the AEB to engage." The dealership said there was a software update to the AEB that they would perform. They did not inspect the AEB system, but said if it happens again bring it back and they will look at it further. When I got in my care to leave, I found a photocopied page (page 5-85) of the owner's manual that they left for me. The highlighted a sections that said: The radar sensor may NOT detect a vehicle ahead in the following conditions: - Dirt, ice, snow or other material covering the radar sensor". Again - it's not that the system is not detecting something in the path of the car, it's that it is engaging on its own. The heat in my vehicle only works on the passenger side. It does not blow out warm or hot on the driver's side. This is due to a stripped actuator in the blend door. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. I live in Colorado where it gets very cold. Because the heat doesn't work on the driver's side, the windshield doesn't defrost well. This is a hazard because I cannot see through my windshield when I'm driving and it's cold out. Yes, this problem was inspected and confirmed by a local Nissan Dealer in Lakewood, Colorado. There are no warning messages. There are a LOT of other people having this exact same problem. See some of the blogs below. Dec 1, 2023Engine

Around 80,000 miles our car, when it's been driven about an hour, starts to hesitate when I escalate when slowed or stopped. It's about a 3 second hesitation that is very dangerous if I try to drive across a busy 4 lane road. I have come very close to being hit several times due to this hesitation. I am very aware there has been lawsuits in regards to this. I read in the lawsuit that Nissan put some sort of chip in the engine to allow it to last longer but it also causes this hesitation when the engine gets warm. In order to stop this, I have to literally shut the car off, back on, then this hesitation stops for awhile. It's as if the microchip has been rebooted or something when the car is shut off. I called the dealership here an they say they never heard of this but I find it hard to believe since others like me with this 2017 ROGUE, have the same issues and some have paid for a new transmission. I cannot afford that especially when it's Nissan who is causing it. I did contact Nissan and they told me since the mileage is over 100,000 now they will do nothing. I haven't taken it to the dealer service after a conversation I had over the phone. I was treated unfairly and talked down to for being female. They spoke to me as if I was terribly ignorant. I told them I read about other people's issue with the ROGUE from the class action suit. I didn't just read it off some web page. Besides, even if they diagnosed my car for what I have described, I Don't have the money to replace a transmission and hope to get refunded from some lawsuit years from now. By then I could be dead in that car. Can't afford to get a new car. If you all don't take this seriously, I at least want it filed so that if something happens one of my final requests will to have my husband follow through with a lawsuit. We try to avoid driving situations because of this. Why won't Nissan just replace the microchip? What do I do?

I have water leak and mold growing in the passenger side of the vehicle for about a month. I took car to Rockaway Nissan, where i bought the vehicle. The dealer Stated that, they found sunroof drain hoses clogged with water and debris causing back flow of water into cabin which they claimed cleared and tested for leak and should remedy the issue. Unfortunately, i am still having the leak even after the work they did. I took my car to get inspected and check for leak again. Now they are saying that they don't know where the water is coming from and they advised me that it is safety hazard to drive this car and advised me to call Nissan Corporate office directly. I called Nissan Consumers affairs, and they are saying that it is the dealer that is supposed to fix not them. am worried that driving this car can create fire and other safety hazard with all this water leaking. I was driving home from work and my car braked really hard without me touching the brake. The dash board light flashed a warning that was red and white and an alarm went off. This is available upon request. My safety was put at risk because this happened as I was accelerating through a green traffic light. There were people behind me who could have slammed into me, endangering me and them. This happened one other time last week but for a short period of time and it barely braked. It has not yet been inspected, but I plan to call my local dealership.

August 2022 Passenger Vehicle Seat Belt system light came on, concern was if the seat belt would work when occupied. Vehicle was taken to Baytown Nissan for Passenger seat belt light malfunction, was advised to replace the Occupant Control Unit and Occupant Pressure Sensor with Callibration 3.0. The light eventually corrected itself. August 2023 The Passenger Airbag Light stayed on and says the Airbag is turned off when someone is seated in the vehicle, concern is occupant safety. Took vehicle to Baytown Nissan for diagnostic, code is b00a0 module malfunction, again advised to replace OCS Control and Callibrate. I have seen previous recalls on air bag malfunctions and would like to know why this is not a safety recall. This is my fourth Nissan vehicle and never had this problem and the other vehicles were older.

Intake manifold part number 14001-7FH0C broke down while driving. Vehicle would not accelerate, when taken to mechanic, the code indicated that the intake manifold needs to be replaced. Nissan is aware of this and i have a case number with them. Case # [XXX] I was on the freeway when this happened, me and my wife were both very worried because there was no exit nearby as we were going up and down hills with other vehicles going around us. The component was inspected by a mechanic at Sun Devil Auto. I contacted the Nissan dealership and when they received the code error, they said I did not need to bring the vehicle in for inspection as that part is needed to be replaced. There were no warnings, no symptoms, and no warning lamps initially. This all happened as I was on a road trip from Gilbert, AZ to Williams, AZ. Then suddenly before I reached Payson, AZ it stopped accelerating. It took about 3 hours of driving this way maybe between speeds of 35-40mph back from Payson, AZ to Gilbert, AZ before the check engine light ignited and I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed at my nearest mechanic. I ordered the intake manifold and paid for it on 7/31/2023, but it has been on backorder because they stopped production on the original version and only want to sell an "updated" version of it as this failure known to Nissan USA Inc. The transmission is jerking going from first to second gear. The rpm's will rev up but I get no speed. This vehicle only has 96,000 miles currently. The problem started occurring around 90,000 miles and took our family a while to figure out what was happening. It started out as a slight jerking and now is becoming quite problematic. I have reached out to the Nissan manufacturer to file a complaint but have not got anything from them with the exception of an apology. As we research this is a very common problem and yet there has not been a recall on the transmission unfortunately. This is putting our family in danger as we have to visit our family in two different states and often do not have good cell phone reception due to the mountainous regions. Now we do not feel safe traveling with this vehicle. We expected to get many more miles on this vehicle as our last vehicle was a Murano and got well over 200,000 miles. We have read that there has been instances where the transmission was replaced and covered up to 120,000 miles. Customer service at Nissan corporate informed us otherwise and stated it was only for models up to 2010. Our extended warranty is now out and we are not covered for the power train currenly.

The defrost only blows out cold air, along with the drivers side heat. Heat comes out of the passenger side but the defrost and drivers side is always cold. The cold defrost makes for LESS visibility and freezes the windshield making it unsafe to drive in winter conditions or cold conditions. The actuator door has been replaced twice and did not fix the issue. The dealership has recommended the entire Heater / AC Unit Assembly being replaced for $3000. This is a common safety concern with the Nissan Rogue and should be recalled before further accidents/injuries/problems occur.
