Sunroof shattered while driving today, I read that many Nissan Muranos have had the same problems. The sunroof looks like it shattered from the inside out.

I bought the car used from a used dealership on February 28. On May 12th, I brought it to the shop for a few things but mainly due to the battery being corroded along with a battery light that comes and goes, but also for there being a slight skip in the transmission. The car would buckle when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The shop called me back on May 23rd and said the car was ready and they found nothing wrong with the transmission. They claimed they found no codes or could not recreate the issue. I brought the car back a week or two later due to the battery light still flashing randomly. While taking the car for a test drive with the mechanic, it buckled pretty hard and I told the mechanic that’s what I had been talking about and he just brushed it off. On July 23, while driving home, my car bucked REALLY hard 5 times and then stopped accelerating past 20 miles per hour. On august 11th, I tried taking it for a test drive and it drove completely fine, like nothing had ever happened. While heading back to my house, I lost all gears and the car stopped accelerating while I was going up a hill. My rpm’s went way up but my car started to roll backwards down the hill. My grandmother happened to be behind me and she ended up pushing into my bumper and pushing me up the hill due to there being no pull of section and the speed limit being 50 mph. There were no lights on my dash indicating there was a problem. If my grandmother wasn’t there, it could have been much worse. I talked to someone at a local Nissan dealership and he claimed that my transmission is going and that even though my car is doing the same thing as a lot of the recalls and cars they offered extended warranties on, that mine didn’t qualify for one.

CVT Transmission stops accelerating at some point after driving. RPMs don’t increase and vehicle struggles to maintain speed. Speed only increases or decreases due to incline or decline of the road. It’s dangerous as it mostly occurs on freeways/highways. Problem has been happening for 2+ years. Dealer cannot confirm as no check engine light code is created and problem ceases to exist only after engine is turned off. Vehicle is available to be inspected.

AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM AND CRUISE CONTROL WILL STOP WORKING. ON AVERAGE IT HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY 20 TO 25 MILES AND REMAINS OFF FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES. IT DOES NOT OCCUR AT REGULAR INTERVALS THOUGH, THIS IS JUST THE AVERAGE. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET NISSAN TO REPLACE THE SENSOR WHILE THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY DID NOT WANT TO AND FINALLY WHEN THEY AGREED THEY SAID THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER DUE TO HIGH DEMAND SO I'M NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER WHO HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. THE SENSOR STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND HAVING THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING/AUTOMATIC BRAKING NOT RELIABLE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HAVING THE CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORK IS JUST AN ANNOYANCE. AT NISSAN'S SUGGESTIONS, I'VE CLEANED THE SENSOR MANY TIMES AND I'VE ENSURED THAT NOTHING IS BLOCKING THE SENSOR. IT IS SIMPLY A FAULTY, UNRELIABLE PART AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A NATIONAL RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER 2 YEARS NOW. IT TOOK MANY MONTHS OF COMPLAINING AND SENDING THEM PICTURES OF IT NOT WORKING BEFORE THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR THE FIRST TIME. THAT FIXED THE ISSUE FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT NOW THE SECOND SENSOR ON THE CAR HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR OVER A YEAR. I'M ATTACHING A COUPLE OF PICTURES FOR EXAMPLE. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED OVER A 100 TIMES TO ME THOUGH.

ADAS IS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE BREAKS UNEXPECTEDLY WITHOUT CAUSE OR WARNING. THE PROBLEM IS MOST COMMON WHEN CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS. THIS PRESENTS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. THE SYSTEM NO HAS NO FUNCTION AND I AM UNABLE TO UTILIZE THE MOST BASIC FEATURES, TO INCLUDE CRUISE CONTROL. THE ADAS SYSTEM LIGHTS ARE CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH, EVEN AFTER ATTEMPTS TO RESET THE SYSTEM.

ON 02/09/2021 APPROXIMATELY 8PM, ARRIVED TO MY DESTINATION, TURNED CAR OFF, WENT INSIDE. APPROXIMATELY 1.5 HOURS LATER (9:30PM) WENT BACK TO MY CAR TO BRING MY SUITCASE AND PILLOW IN. WHEN I REMOVED MY PILLOW FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE SEAT, NOTICED THE BIG SCORCHED AREA AND THE SEAMS WERE BRIGHT RED, THE SEAT WAS BURNING HOT TO TOUCH. BURNING SMELL WAS NOTED, AND THE SEAT SWITCH WAS STILL ON THOUGH THE CAR WAS OFF OVER A HOUR. THE OTHER SEATS WERE NORMAL ( COOL ) TO TOUCH. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLES AND STAYED BY THE CAR MAKING SURE THE SEAT AREA COOLED TO NORMAL. NOTE.....MY PILLOW WAS SCORCHED TOO. THE CAR IS A 2017 NISSAN MURANO, BOUGHT IT NEW.

THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, MAKES ME AFRAID OF DRIVING MY NEW CAR.

FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING COMES ON AND AND CRUISE WILL TURN OFF AND VEHICLE WILL START QUICKLY SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAPPENS IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. AFTER ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES THE WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF AND I CAN RESET THE CRUISE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNLESS THERE IS A RECALL.

I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE, INCLUDING TIRE ROTATION. WHEN I GOT HOME, I NOTICED THAT 2 LUG NUTS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE MISSING. I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WITH DEALERSHIP BEFORE AND GOING BACK AT THE TIME TO GET FIXED WAS INCONVENIENT, I DID NOT KNOW THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF ISSUES. I TOOK CAR BACK IN TODAY FOR SERVICE AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME I HAD 2 BROKEN WHEEL STUDS, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED MY TIRE TO FALL OFF. IN THE REPAIR PAPERWORK, THEY ONLY WROTE THEY REPLACED LUG NUTS. THE ISSUE IS WHETHER MISSING LUG NUTS OR BROKEN WHEEL STUDS, THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER LET ME DRIVE OFF THAT LOT WITH A TIRE ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND CAUSED MY LIFE.

THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING IS GETTING FALSE TRIGGERS AND DISABLES ITSELF AFTER SUCH INCIDENT. MANY TIMES TRIGGERS WITHOUT ANYTHING IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. HAS ALSO APPLIED BRAKES ON ONE OCCASION WHEN THERE WAS NO VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. THE FEB SENSOR WAS UPDATED IN 2019 WITH A NEW PART THAT DOES NOT SEND FALSE TRIGGERS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MURANOS FROM 2015-2018. THIS SAFETY FEATURE IS ONE OF THE REASONS WE BOUGHT THIS CAR AND NOW THAT FEATURE IS NOT RELIABLE. I THINK NISSAN SHOULD SUPPLY UPDATED PART AND LET CUSTOMER PAY LABOR TO HAVE THIS SAFETY FEATURE BE MORE RELIABLE.

WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON, THE ICC SYSTEM WILL BEEP, FLASH A WARNING MESSAGE AND TURN THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF AUTOMATICALLY. THE WARNING MESSAGE SAYS, "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION.' THEN, THE CRUISE CONTROL AND FRONT RADAR ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO USE UNTIL THE SYSTEM RE-SETS ITSELF OR THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN ONE TRIP.

I PURCHASED THIS USED VEHICLE ON 4/4/20 AND DURING A TEST DRIVE THE UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION CAME ON AND THEY STATED IT WAS BECAUSE WE WERE CLOSE TO OTHER CARS. THE SENSOR KEPT GOING OFF WITH NOTHING AROUND WHILE DRIVING SO TOOK IT TO LOCAL NISSIAN DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD SENSOR WHICH IS ABOUT $1400 TO REPAIR. ASKED NISSIAN TO PAY AS A GOODWILL GESTURE AND THEY DENIED IT. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH WILL NOT COVER IT. AS EXPLAINED TO THE SELLING DEALERSHIP AND NISSIAN CORPORATE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I SHOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THE SENSOR. WHENEVER THE CAR IS IN MOTION THE SENSOR GOES OFF..ABOUT 8-10 DURING A 12 MILE TRIP. I NEED HELP WITH THIS SENSOR. THE SELLING DEALERSHIP KNEW THIS WAS FAULTY AND SO DOES NISSIAN AND NO ONE WILL HELP. THIS IS PLACING MY LIFE AND OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK. PLEASE HELP....

RADAR COLLISION DETECTION ISSUES. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2017, WE'VE BEEN RECEIVING PERIODIC WARNINGS "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE. ON A 2 HOUR DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE THIS PAST WEEKEND, WE WOULD SEE THE MESSAGE OVER 10 TIMES AND THIS CAUSES THE CRUISE CONTROL TO STOP. THIS SEEMS TO MOST OFTEN OCCUR IF THERE IS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US THAT CHANGES LANES. THIS ISSUE ALSO OCCURS DRIVING AROUND TOWN, IT'S NOT ONLY ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS REALLY IMPACTING OUR SAFETY BECAUSE THE WARNING MESSAGE SCARES WHOEVER IS DRIVING THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAVE TOLD NISSAN OF THIS ISSUE AS EARLY AS SUMMER 2019 AND THEY MADE ADJUSTMENTS, BUT IT ISN'T FIXED. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO PUT IN THE 'WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN' FIELD BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. *TR
