Airbags - I received a service notification that the airbags needed to be serviced. I was told by the dealership there weren’t any outstanding recalls on this vehicle. When I researched myself, I saw that in fact, there is an outstanding recall for the airbags. The dealership is trying to charge me for the repairs on an outstanding recall on this car. If I had not researched on my own, I would be out of pocket hundreds of dollars. I transport myself and children I. This vehicle that I thought was safe. This is concerning. Struts - According to the car fax provided at the time of sale, the struts were replaced at the dealership 3 months before purchasing the car. 2 months later the struts have failed and the dealership will not cover the cost of the repair. There was only a 1,000 mile difference from when the struts were repaired until the time I purchased the car.

RECALLED. GMC NOT OFFERING ANY SOLUTIONS. I have two jobs, and two children. Got a notice saying recall "An Infaltor rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." I noticed there have been TWO recalls on this. The first one was in 2022, and I was never informed. I need a solution. A refund for the loan amount or something. I can not put my children in the car, and I have no transportation and no solution.

The airbag recall was a month ago and according to two different GMC dealerships, GM has not yet provided the replacement for our vehicle and no ETA. Why issue a very important recall and not have the part on hand to repair a dangerous issue?

My steering rack and pinion as well as my power steering pump have gone out completely potentially put me in harms way By impairing my ability to drive defensively. by greatly reducing the vehicles reaction time . A worn steering rack can cause you to lose partial or complete control over your car steering wheel, which can lead to fatal accident. That goes without saying that steering rack is a major car maintenance procedure and is expensive. When they perform defectively, it can spell trouble and make your steering faulty and unreliable—this is what happens when the rack and pinion goes out. And I believe it goes without saying that the power steering pump is just as an intricate part of your design as is the rack and pinion they go hand-in-hand, and the potentially damage each other. In this case, they both went out.. I believe it’s well documented across many platforms, similar issues with the same model. document to the skyline motors in Rawlins, Wyoming. At the time there was no warning lights are indicators on the instrument panel whatsoever.

Side Object Detection Indicator failure. This was a recall in 2019 after my system failed causing the entire electronic dashboard to go black while driving on the highway. I had no indication of speed while driving. Once I pulled safely off the road and turned the vehicle off, it would not start and needed to be towed. I had it fixed and within months GMC recalled the module kit due to poor design resulting in failure to protect the module from expected weather exposure. The module was replaced in 2019. Again, in 2023, exactly 4 years again, the Side Detection Indicator has failed, due to expected weather exposure which resulted in corrosion. GMC denied replacement because I have already had it replaced. GMC is unable to confirm the module kit placed on my vehicle was an improved design and was the same kit design that has been known to fail. GMC engineers need to reassess for a second recall as the issue is not resolved and could lead to devastating injury or death.

The electrical wiring started a fire that destroyed the engine compartment. I was in the vehicle and barely escaped injury while pedestrians were walking by and could have been injured when an explosion occurred. GEICO is now investigating the incident. A Service Battery Charging System warning light displayed on the dashboard and heavy smoke began to emit from the engine compartment then, a small fire started and escalated to a full and life threatening condition.

Both headlights failed at same time during night driving resulting in very low visibility with only the daytime running lights working. My safety as well as others driving on the road were put at risk as my visibility of the road was impacted and my vehicles visibility to other drivers was impaired. This problem has occurred twice within in the last year making the vehicle unsafe to drive. The first time we just replaced both headlights thinking it was a fluke but having occurred a second time within a short period of time is very concerning. There were no warning lamps and at this time has not been inspected by dealer as there is not a recall and is an expensive repair. This is a serious safety hazard and could have easily caused a bad accident.

Today I encountered a problem with my vehicle that not only put myself at risk but my children. This problem came out of no where since I have not had any problems with my vehicle before today. When going to leave I turned my car on to have it stall and die. I had someone come out and look at it and got it to work by pushing down on the gas pedals. Said nothing looked wrong since there were no check engine light or any codes coming up on the dash. So I proceeded to leave and go get gas. When going to start my car again it stalled yet again and showed a check engine light. The car then started to smell like smoke and gas to where I immediately turned to car off and had my kids get out. I then tried to start my vehicle again and thankfully was able to get it to work with the check engine light showing. I called the car dealership that I go to for my oil to let them know I’m coming and that it stalled again with the check engine light showing. I made it to the shop and they ran diagnostics on it to show that it was a time change in the engine that was messing up. They then proceeded to let me know that I would have to go to a GMC shop because they can’t do the work at their shop. He then proceeded to tell me not to drive in this because the car will stall in motion and will not go faster than 45 without dying or shutting off. Which to me is a major safety concern since I have to drive it to the shops and let along home with my children in the car. So the whole way I couldn’t go over 45 without my car starting to stall and shake. Thankfully it didn’t shut down with my kids in the car on a main road.

While driving my car I have noticed that my steering wheel shakes when I apply the brakes. Also when I turn the wheel the power steering makes a loud noise which is the steering rack box. Steering has gotten worse over time and noise has gotten louder. Praying me and my children do not get in an accident as I have no other vehicle to drive. Also the passenger airbag will randomly turn on and off.

2015, GMC, Acadia SLT. Rear brake calipers had to be replaced out of my pocket after rear brake calipers froze and locked the brakes in the middle of traffic. This almost caused a major accident in which lives may have been lost or severe injury sustained. The rear brake calipers were inspected by a mechanic. ABS, Traction Control and Stabiltrak warning lights illuminated. Had to have the vehicle towed four times due to rear brakes seizing. Vehicle was sold to me by Posner Park Chrysler, Highway 27, Davenport, FL who did not fulfill the promised repairs and lied to BBB but researching their submitted Used Car Inspection Sheet, they destroyed the rear brake calipers when installing rear rotors and pads and never did install the passenger side fog light assembly as promised after they claimed they had ordered it and held up vehicle delivery until the evening before my departure from Florida back to New York. They were deliver the vehicle by 11:30 am, August 17, 2021 but I did not drive away with it until 5:00pm, the clock-out time for all mechanics in Florida.

Power liftgate suddenly fell about 3 ft, hitting the back of my head. The liftgate then forcibly closed, pinning my hand. There was a recall for 2008-2012 vehicles to due faulty Stabilus struts that cause failure. This is a serious defect that has already caused numerous head injuries, fractured hands, neck pain, etc. This recall needs extended and consumers need to know of the possibility. Lastly, the warning mechanism that GM claims is the presence of flashing rear brake lights and a chime to warn when liftgate failure occurs only happens AFTER the gate fails, not before. The warning is of NO use. Another consumer posted an exact same complaint in July 2021 for an Acadia outside of the current recall dates.

I have taken the vehicle to be repaired 5 times already and GM still refuses to acknowledge the full extent of the issue. My transmission was repaired under 100k miles while under warranty coverage for a slipping 3rd gear, excessive shudder, and hesitation. After a 3 attempts for repair, the 4th involved keeping the vehicle for a number of weeks and replacing internal transmission parts. Within 2 months, the symptoms returned but was out of warranty. The service center refused to diagnose it further without a $1,500 "diagnostics fee". I have brought the vehicle multiple times to the dealership, and have contacted GM seeking assistance on the matter. While the dealership service centers continue to focus on other parts and/or smaller sub-components of the transmission, my vehicle remains UNSAFE to drive outside of my immediate locality. I suffer from stalling, failure to maintain speeds, I cannot pass vehicles, I cannot maintain or obtain highway speeds to keep up with traffic. I have taken it yet again for repair, where the service center refuses to acknowledge the problem. They blamed it on a sensor and sent me on my way, but not only 30 minutes later did the symptoms return full-force. The Check Engine Light has reappeared. Prior to the visit earlier today, it was recently tripped at P0796, Pressure Control Solenoid C stuck or closed. I was on the highway today with avg traffic going 75 MPH. I was unable to merge into traffic and almost got pushed off of the road as a result. The truck also slipped when travelling inclined over the walt whitman bridge in to Philadelphia. It resulted in a bridge closure for 45 minutes while I could get towed off of the bridge. Once i got to the service center, as always, but will not drive over 45 MPH unless its up to 4600 RPM, steadily. This has got to end. Please Help.

Rear lift gate when used goes up to a certain point in which you can start putting things into the car. Then it will slam down and then go back up and come back down in a forceful manner. When you attempt to control it manually it will close forcefully and yanked out of your hand. Biggest concern is if my kids were placing items in the car in which do realize things as quickly as an adult that it would crush my kids. After looking at all the information about this it has a recall open for the same thing in the 2008-2014 GMC Acadia.
