I constantly get a "Please remove objects near passenger seat" warning and the airbag light goes on. It happens when anyone is in the seat and also sometimes when it is vacant. No one will admit there is a problem.

Engine underpowered/turbo under boost: had this issue numerous times with the original engine (which failed at just over 85k miles). I've put less than 5k on the current replacement engine and it's happening again. This is especially concerning when merging into interstate traffic. Second issue: backup camera starting malfunctioning intermittently shortly after purchasing. It displays an error message 90% of the time. When it does display the image is backwards.

Power steering is locking up

The studs for the exhaust manifolds rusted away and the exhaust is now leaking into the passenger compartment and bypassing all emissions systems. This is a common problem with Ford F150s. Ford has since changed the alloy used in the studs to prevent this from happening.

Brakes started grinding and a fluid like substance was coming out. Took it in for a check and brake pad had came off and caliper had busted and was leaking brake fluid.

Took vehicle in for service for oil change and balance/rotation. Shop advised that lug nuts were swollen and had trouble removing them and they need to be replaced. Research has shown that this is a known issue with Ford and there has even been litigation filed against Ford regarding this issue, but I could not locate a recall campaign.

The rear window in my F150 has rear defrost with a power sliding window. The glass panel on the drivers side has spontaneously shattered two time. Once in October 2020 and again in April 2022. On both occasions the glass was spiderwebbed but had not fallen out. There was no indication that the glass had any physical damage from the exterior or interior. Also, the vehicle had been parked the first time while at home and the second time while at work.

My truck appeared to down shift into first gear while driving 50 mph. The RPMs soared and i temporarily lost control of the vehicle and my body slammed forward. Luckily, no other vehicle was adjacent to mine otherwise people could have been severely injured. The event occurred again 5 minutes later. Initial symptoms were an instance where there was no dashboard feedback from my rpm, speedometer and information area. Recall appears to only apply to 2011-2013 model vehicles. Mine is a 2014 however it was manufactured in dearborne in 2013 and the recall applies to f150s manufactured there through October of 2013. Subject part not available and cannot get repaired through the dealer for multiple weeks Failure code of speed sensor in the lead frame was identified by an independent service center

I was driving on highway at 65 miles per hour when my truck suddenly downshifted to first gear and stopped it took a secknds to get the truck going again. I was almost rear ended it was very heart stopping. I dont know why there was a recall on just the 2011-2013 Trucks. My vehicle was built at the Deerfield MI plant same as the others just November of 2013 instead of October 2013 when they closed out the recall. I tried to get it analyzed by a Ford dealership but they gave no appointments for over month out in May! I need my vehicle for work. I'm an essential employee with USPS. Luckily I am close to my office and can take back roads, I can not drive this on the highway! They need to recall all vehicles built at the 2 plants straight through 2013 thus is very dangerous and now I will have to go to my mechanic and if recall does come through. I certainly hoe Ford will honor repair costs done at a non dealership ad I cant get an appointment for over a month!!

The rear defrost functionality has stopped on my 2014 F150 with sliding rear window. This causes visibility issues in certain weather conditions.

Whe the truck was started to allow the interior to warm up, the back glass shattered. Happened at 50 degrees outside temp with defrost on.

March 13th. I was driving on County Road 6, south of Park Rapids, Minnesota, and noticed smoke coming from my coat laying on the passenger seat, I removed the coat and found smoke/flames coming out of the passenger seat. I stopped the truck, ran around to the door of the passenger seat, turned off the seat warmer, and put the fire out. The seat warmer failed and is available for inspection. I have disconnected the seat warmer. March 15th. I brought the vehicle to North Country Ford service Manager and they did not know how to report it, didn't seem to think it was serious, and wanted me to pay $144 for them to look at it. March 16th called Ford Corporate. They started a case #CAS35878378 with Chelse David.

I turned on my defroster this morning, to defrost my rear window and mirrors. I heard a loud bang got out to look around to see if someone hit me, noticed that my driver side rear window had completely shattered
NHTSA ODI 11456524
My rear driver side window shattered while I was driving. It was around Jan 8th 2022 give or take the temperature was freezing but no ice had to be scraped. I warmed my truck up for a 3-4 mins before leaving work. As I was on the freeway no more than 10 min after starting my truck I was driving about 60mph at 5:30 in the morning I herd a super loud pop sounded almost like a rock hit my windshield but didn’t see anything. I didn’t find out what had happened until I got home. It did make me swerve just a little bit not know was happening but no cars were out that early. So only one of the three sections shattered but not into pieces it’s still intact as of now but is in a ton of little gravel size pieces. So I’m not able to use the electric middle window to open as I’m sure it will completely break the other section. Also I was not even using the rear defrost at the time just the front window part. I’m sure the temperature is to blame but either way it could have been a lot worse if there was traffic at the wrong time. I’ll be turning into insurance to have it fix in the next few days.

Submitting another complaint about this issue. 2014 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5L TT with 6 speed transmission. Was driving with my whole family in the car yesterday, 03/06/22. Truck started hesitating again, RPMs went crazy, MPH gauge freaked out. I shifted into neutral before the truck would go into a skid like it did the other day. Put the truck back into drive and it was fine. Turned around and took our other vehicle. This thing is a death trap. Recall the 2014 model year now. I've found several others online with 2014 model year with the same issue.

I was driving today, around 60 MPH, with my parents in the truck. All of a sudden my truck slammed into a lower gear, skidded the tires, and everyone was thrown forward in the vehicle. I almost lost control. I know there is a recall for the 2011-2013 Ford F-150 for this, but NOT the 2014 model year (mine). This is the second time it's happened where it's skidded the tires, and it's happened at least half a dozen other times where it hasn't skidded. This WILL cause an accident in time and this IS an issue with other 2014s that I've read about online. Today I was lucky there was nobody behind me or it would have caused a rear-end collision. This needs resolved NOW. I have a wife and three kids that also ride in this vehicle, it's our main family vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the advanced track steering, hill track control, and steering assists warning lights illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost powering steering functionality. The contact was able to manually steer the vehicle and drive the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The mechanic notified the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000. My truck was built only 2 weeks from the recall dates. My mechanic stated that my computer noted the steering rack was a recall part. Attached is an image of his scan tool that noted the part was under recall.

We have experienced 2 incidents where a wrench appears on the screen followed by a complete loss of acceleration. The first incident occurred while on the highway driving 65 MPH, we made it over to the side of the highway, shut the vehicle off and restarted after about 1-2 minutes. We were able to make it home without another incident. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they could not find any error codes. I had a tune-up done before the second incident occurred. We were traveling 40 MPH on a very narrow curvy road during the second incident and were extremely fortunate to clear the corner with just enough room to get the truck off the side of the road before coming to a complete stop. Just as before a wrench appears on the screen. We shut the truck off and restarted it after 1-2 minutes and was able to make it home without another incident.

On two separate occasions while driving at normal operating speed (30-40 MPH) the yellow wrench icon appeared (which I researched and found it deals with the throttle body) and I lost my speedometer, odometer, distance to empty, airbag light illuminated, and vehicle had little to no acceleration. I believe it might have something to do with the lead frame on the transmission.
