Airbag light keeps turning on and off all the time. This is a very serious issue. It is also happening on my other vehicle which happens to be the same year and also made by Chrysler (Jeep) I need help. I already contacted dealership about but didn’t get any help.

Airbag light is on as well as periodic sound alert. Safety aspect I am unsure as I do not see any recall on the vehicle. Dealer wants too much money to inspect but says the car is fine to drive. Online reports contradict this information. No other issues present with vehicle.

The passenger sliding door has been buzzing. Also, both sliding doors randomly act like they want to open while driving. You can hear them moving and the lights turn on and off indicating door ajar and closed. This is a safety hazard for my children in the backseat as I am not sure if these doors will start automatically opening if something happens to the lock

Right side passenger door will not open even when unlocked by push button or by pulling on handle. Can only exit side left side door, the traffic side. This could be dangerous as children or adults may exit out into traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection. Called the dealership and they said only 2016 models were under recall. They said this is a known “actuator problem”. They would not examine vehicle unless I paid a fee. This occurred without warning.

We have had several instances where the car, while driving, just shuts off and have lost braking and control. I am pretty sure this is due to a faulty ignition switch. I have been in heavy traffic when this happens and by the grace of God have not caused a serious wreck. There is no warning when this happens and there is nothing in particular that causes the issue. Very scary and this should be recalled by Chrysler. I have not taken it to the dealer yet but plan to because it is extremely dangerous.

Passenger side front headrest deployed with no occupation or contact and will not reset.had someone been sitting in the seat it could have caused serious trauma to their head and/or neck. It absolutely startled and scared me. Had a vehicle been in the neighboring lanes I very well could have caused an accident after the deployment. No prior warnings of any kind preceded the incident and I have not been to a dealer for inspection.

The rear passenger-side sliding door actuator failed forcing the door in a locked position. Because of this failure the door was entirely unusable and could not be opened or unlocked in any ways from inside the vehicle. This clearly posses a safety risk in case of emergency if doors become unavailable due to a faulty part. There is not notification that the door is in a failure state until you go to try to open the door. There is an existing warranty bulletin for 2015 and 2016 models, and I believe this should be extended to earlier models as they have a high failure rate and pose a safety risk as well.

The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle started overheating, emitted white smoke from the exhaust and then shut off. The contact stated upon attempting to restart the vehicle to pull into the driveway, the vehicle started overheating and emitted white smoke. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the head gasket blew and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V234000 (Electrical System). However, the VIN was not included. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was not covered under warranty or recall. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The driver side sliding door tries to open on its own in hot weather after hitting bumps. If the vehicle has been sitting in the sun, the door will try to open, the chime will sound, and the open door light indicator appears on the dash. The door will continue to try to open and close repeatedly until hitting another bump, or until getting out of the vehicle and pounding on the door. The wiring harness in the door was replaced but that did not fix the issue.

The passenger side sliding door has issues locking and unlocking. The actuator buzzes whenever the car locks or unlocks, even after a replacement part installed. When automatically closing the door, it often gets “stuck” trying to close and you can hear the door/lock motor repeatedly trying to pull the door closed and lock it even though the door is in the closed position. It will do this until the battery drains if not dealt with. To stop it, I have to manually open the door and slam it closed. Oftentimes the door is just stuck and will not open when in this stuck mode, which is the major safety concern. This has been happening for over a year now. It is especially worse in the heat, but happens all year. These doors are also frozen shut in the winter and the family has to enter the vehicle through the front driver or passenger doors.

One or more low tire pressure sensors on my vehicle is faulty and causing the light on my dash to be illuminated although my tires are not low. I was told by my mechanic that there is a recall for this issue on 2014 Town and Country vans (which is what I have), although apparently my VIN is not included in the recall. Perhaps it should be? It will be causing the same safety issues for me as other 2014 T+C van owners.

Driver-side sliding passenger door cinch motor keeps activating when it is hot outside. Usually when above 85 degrees and the direct sun hitting the side of the van. Sometimes runs continually for one to two minutes. Sometimes after locking doors alarm will go off on its own. When driving down the road door ajar light and chime will come on also interior lights will flash. No issue in colder weather. Happens all summer long.

Both back doors will not shut properly. Left side no longer locks. SAFTY ISSUE. While driving the car the right back door will randomly start making a sound like it is trying to latch, but can’t. The interior lights will begin to come on and off. Warning lights will begin to flash with a message that reads door is opened on the dashboard message system. Looked up mechanical issue with 2014 back doors not staying closed and read hundreds of people with the same issue!!!! The problem has now started on the left side as well but never at the same time as the right side. RECALL

The left side passenger sliding door won't latch thus causing a safety hazard. I have read that hundreds of thousands of these cars suffer the same defect and this is being investigated by the NHTSA. https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2021/chrysler-dodge-minivan-sliding-door-problems.shtml https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c24092_ds899542

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Chrysler Town And Country verdict →
