I am reporting a serious safety defect in my brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser (Hybrid J250 series). Vehicle Information: VIN: [XXX] Mileage at time of failure: approximately 4,000 miles Date of purchase/delivery: [XXX] Purchased new from: Koons Toyota Tysons Corner, VA Problem Description: On [XXX], while driving, a suspension component detached/fell off, causing loss of control and a crash. This was a complete mechanical failure of the suspension system with no prior warning or impact from another vehicle. The failure occurred despite the vehicle having extremely low mileage and despite me previously reporting suspension issues to the dealer. Prior to the crash, I took the vehicle to the dealer on April 17 , 2026 for suspension problems. The dealer inspected it and explicitly stated that the vehicle was safe to drive. Shortly afterward, the suspension failed catastrophically, resulting in the crash. This indicates a manufacturing, design, or assembly defect that poses an unreasonable risk of crash, injury, or death. No modifications, abuse, or lack of maintenance contributed to this failure. This is a new 2025 model with no prior owner history. I believe this is a safety defect that may affect other vehicles, especially given the extremely low mileage at failure. I request that NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety defect, consider opening a defect investigation, and issue a recall if warranted. I attached letters i sent to dealer service advisor and service manager and i haven't gotten respond at all. I mistyped date for service and service was done on March 17th, 2026. I am willing to provide additional evidence, including the failed component for inspection if needed. Please contact me at [XXX] or [XXX] for any questions or to arrange inspection. Thank you for protecting public safety. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
