The driveshaft boot fell apart or came loose and contacted the emission system exhaust piping and eventually caught on fire. The whole underside was in flames and it was extinguished by the passengers. The unit could have completely caught on fire as the gas tank is close by. Killing the passengers and igniting the mountainside on fire. The vehicle will be towed to a dealership for inspection by the insurance company and the dealership.

Leaving work remote start did not work as it normally did. Started with the key noticed the the red flashing lightning bolt. Shortly after the truck jerked like I was hit from behind the RPMs were all over the place. I shut the truck off started again still flashing lightning bolt traction control light was on and other messages were popping up. Service air bag service throttle control ect. Rpms were up and down on its own. Let it run foe 10 minutes shut it off started again same thing it took 1 hour before I got the light to turn off. I drove it home it ran funny like it didn't want to shift and at a stoplight with foot on the break the RPM s were still all over the place. And again the truck lurched like I was hit from behind. I made it home parked the truck called the dealership asked for a diagnostics to be done as I had an appointment for oil change and tire rotation scheduled. Service department sid there were active codes and ice buildup on the throttle body. They said there was not a fix for this and to make sure the truck gets up to temp to burn off the moisture. My drive to work is 30 minutes and I let the truck warmup t9 temp before I drive it Everytime. It has happened consistently causing me to be late for work this is a big PROBLEM and unexceptionable as it is unsafe to have a truck lurch forward on its own. Having a newer truck with 15000 miles and the best warranty availability I would think RAM would stand behind their product and make it safe and dependable. But I was told by the service department this is a known problem that RAM does not have a fix for. Trucks 2023 and older have a fix not the 2024 and newer. Being late for work because if this is not acceptable either when it takes an hour for the light to go off to be out of limp mode as well. December 16 January 12 and 13 January 30-31 Service department recommended putting heat in my garage or installing a block heater but wernt sure if either would fix the issue.

My vehicle is equipped with an automatic engine stop/start feature that shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stopped, as well as an eTorque system intended to assist with initial acceleration. While stopped at an intersection with a slight downhill grade (foot fully depressing the brake pedal), the auto stop/start feature engaged and the engine shut off. When I released the brake to make a right turn, neither the engine nor the eTorque system reengaged. As a result, the vehicle rolled forward under its own momentum into oncoming traffic. I immediately reapplied the brake to stop the vehicle. At that point, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted itself into Park, even though the engine never restarted. I then pressed the ignition button to turn the vehicle off and back on in order to restart the engine. After restarting, I was able to shift into Drive and move into the traffic lane just in time to avoid a collision. A crash was avoided only because oncoming vehicles were able to change lanes to avoid striking my vehicle. At the time of the incident, the vehicle had more than one-third of a tank of fuel, fewer than 33,000 miles, and has been serviced exclusively at the dealership. This incident occurred at the intersection of Riverbend Road and Park Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] on [XXX] south of Madras Oregon. We were on our way to Bend Oregon and just coming up to the scales, when I accelerated to pass a car in the passing lane, all my dash lights lit up and the engine stopped running. Being in heavy traffic this made a dangerous situation with vehicles all around me, while my vehicle was coming to a stop. I was able to pull to the right shoulder to safety. I have brought this issue up with the dealership on three different during service calls. Prior to [XXX] incident, the truck's computer system has never completely shut down all at once. I have told the service manager that I have had several issues on the electrical system, but was told there was nothing wrong. The lights that flashed on, the best I can remember were; Front Collision, Trailer Brakes, Checking Engine, plus others. I cannot remember all, due to maneuvering my vehicle to the right shoulder. Unfortunately, I have not have documentation on every occurrence of electrical/computer failure. I keep getting told that my computer system just needs an update. So the dealership must be somewhat aware that something is going on with my vehicle. The sad part is that I keep trying to resolve this issue with the Dealership, but they keep avoiding my phone calls or when I do go in person they tell me nothings wrong. Here is the name of the dealership I purchased the vehicle from with the extended warranty. "Lithia Dodge of Bend". The 2024 Ram 1500 3.6L V6 E-Torque engine stalls at low speeds. Without warning the engine shuts off and the emergency brake automatically engages, when the truck comes to a stop it shifts into park, and I have to restart the truck. Fortunately this has only happened in parking lots at speeds of around 5mph. This has happened twice so far. The battery voltage dropped from 13.8 volts to 12.2 volts during both stall events. The truck is 1 year old with 15,324 miles on it.

The electric emergency brake engaged twice while I was driving; luckily, both times, I was just above idle speed in a parking lot. One time, the engine cut off wholly and randomly while driving. Once, at an intersection with my family in the truck, the truck began revving up and accelerating toward oncoming traffic. My family was in the vehicle. I had to smash the brakes several times, and the back wheels were chiroing due to the forward acceleration. There were no warning lamps. I turned the truck into the local RAM dealership, and they cannot find an issue. This makes the truck more dangerous because it happens at random, and the cause can't be found.

MGU (Motor-Generator Unit) is a 48-volt belt-driven motor is malfunctioning. I reported the incident multiple times and been told that MGU part number 68623194AB has been on back ordered for months. They have tried to buy the part from other dealers and they won't sell because it's become an issue. I almost got into an accident when the car completly sputtered and shutoff while driving. Happening to my wife today. Put her life at risk. This needs to be address and corrected before someone gets hurt.

Came to a stop sign, waited for traffic to clear to turn left as I floored it started moving and then all of a sudden loss acceleration and notice rpm ramped up to 7k. As in was just coasting I notice only my rpm would go up but the truck wouldn’t move. Lucky I coasted to the side of road and shifted to park. Turned off car and then restarted. Drive home the remaining 30 miles which it seemed to work fine. Kinda scary thinking u can lose power trying to merge into traffic but lucky there was no one coming behind me only 7k miles on my 1500 but now I gotta be careful when pulling out into traffic and really sucks cause the reason I bought the truck with the hemi was for me to be able to accelerate fast ..

When driving the vehicle at speeds between 30 miles an hour and 45 mph the vehicle will jump out of gear into neutral. There are no warning lights that come on. Road conditions varied from dry to wet. I had to coast off the side of the road each time put the car into park and then into drive. This is a safety issue as there are vehicles behind me, and in front of me and I am only able to coast to a safe spot, the vehicle has been to two different Chrysler dealers and they are unable to replicate the issue. I am concerned for my safety as I often drive on highways, and I’m not sure if that will happen on highway. The last time that the vehicle did this it began to lose power and then went into neutral. The truck only has 3,900 miles on it. The first time it happened I had only owned the truck for 18 days. It subsequently occurred one month later, and a month after that.

I recently purchased my first ram truck on 1/11/24. On the morning of 1/15/24 monday, I was leaving my work and as I tried to turn on my truck, it would not turn due to battery being dead. So, I asked coworker of mine to give me a jump. After 10 minutes or so, trunk was on but it had engine and abs, and trailer brake light on. I only had put on 277 miles at that time. Truck seems to make some random noises when driving. Also, when trying to trying to jump the truck it takes this lound sound in the speaker.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2024 Ram Ram 1500 Crew Cab Trx verdict →
