My 2024 Wrangler 4xe has 27,000 miles on it. On Friday, 7/10/2026 around 7:00 in the morning the check engine light came on. I immediately called the dealer to set up an appointment and they could not get me in until 7/15/2026. At about 9:30am that day when I was pulling a small trailer the battery light also came as I was driving on the interstate. As soon as I exited and slowed down, the car lost all power. It would not start or move. I was stranded on the exit ramp in the turn lane, with a trailer, unable to get to the shoulder. There was quite a bit of traffic around me. I was able to have it towed to the dealer. I had to safely get out of the vehicle and direct traffic around the vehicle. Today, 7/15/2026, the dealer ran the diagnostics and determined that the hybrid battery has failed and needs to be replaced. The car currently has 27,000 miles on it and this is now the second hybrid battery replacement and the third time the Jeep has stranded me and has required a tow to the dealer. It is unreliable and unsafe as it becomes immobile and loses power on the roadway.

While driving in Electric Mode this morning, my Jeep experienced a loss of motive power in traffic. When the power loss occurred, I pressed the accelerator, and nothing happened. Moments later, I got a warning telling me Electric Mode Unavailable. Then, a couple moments later again, the gasoline engine started and the vehicle surged ahead nearly causing a collision. Since the 68C Recall was performed the vehicle randomly and unexpectedly experiences this phenomenon. The vehicle was previously left at the dealer to repair this defect. No repair was made. The dealer stated that it drives normal but also stated that power loss is now forced by software after the 68C Recall Software Update and it is now normal to lose electrical motive power in order to keep the battery from getting hot. The danger is that this happens unexpectedly in the past, and happened unexpectedly again, causing traffic around me to take action. It is important to note that this phenomenon occurred today and generally occurs usually below 45-50% Hybrid Battery Charge.

After performing the 68c recall vehicle no longer drives the way it was designed. When in hybrid mode pushing the accelerator to the floor results in a 2-6 second delay waiting for the gas motor to kick in and then it slams the power into the car. This car is extremely unsafe and impossible to merge into the highway correctly now. Car does not show any warnings and dealer claims this is normal operation.

Following completion of the 68C Battery recall, my vehicle began experiencing unexpected and severe loss of electric propulsion while driving. These failures occur without warning, immediately reducing power and causing the vehicle to stall in active traffic. On multiple occasions, surrounding drivers were forced to take evasive action to avoid collision with my stalled Jeep. Incident Timeline 05/15/2026 The hybrid battery failed completely, causing the Jeep to stall in traffic. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where the hybrid battery was replaced. 06/01/2026 The Jeep was returned to me after repairs. 06/02/2026 The Jeep again lost power and stalled in the middle of the road. After moving it to safety, it was towed back to the dealer. Additional components were replaced. 06/20/2026 The Jeep was returned to me once more. Post‑Repair Behavior (Ongoing) Since being returned, the Jeep continues to suffer sudden and major loss of electric propulsion while driving. Only after the power loss occurs does a warning appear stating “ELECTRIC MODE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE.” This warning arrives too late to prevent hazardous situations, as the vehicle has already become a danger to surrounding traffic. Safety Concern The repeated and unpredictable propulsion failures create significant risk of collision, endanger both myself and other drivers, and indicate that the recall repair and subsequent service attempts have not resolved the underlying defect. Recall Number: 26V363000 Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara I am filing a Recall Remedy Failure complaint. This recall was issued in June 2026 for a fire risk when the vehicle is parked. The recall status continues to show "Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available." I have contacted Jeep/Stellantis multiple times and have been told there is no remedy, no parts, and no timeline for repair. They have been unhelpful and unable to provide any safe interim solution. This defect poses a fire risk, and I have been unable to safely use or park the vehicle. It has been well beyond the reasonable time required under federal law for the manufacturer to provide a remedy. I am requesting NHTSA intervention and classification of this case as a recall remedy failure. I am seeking a manufacturer buyback as required under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

- The all electric drive system intermittently fails. The vehicle drive shuts down and stops suddenly when decelerating to a stop in full electric mode while in drive. The vehicle "drive" light on the gear shift then starts flashing when the drive system shuts down. Vehicle motors lock up and the vehicle comes to an abrupt stop. The vehicle then has to be shifted into Park, and then back into Drive, in order for it to re-engage. The incidents happened at all different levels of SOC - from 98% charge to 1% charge. All happened at different times of day. Temperatures between 73-85 degrees. All in daylight with different sun/clouds. Yes it is available for inspection upon request. - Safety is an obvious issue when the vehicle comes to a compete and sudden stop in traffic unexpectedly. - Yes the problem has been reproduced and confirmed my an independent automotive engineer. I am an experienced professional automotive test driver/engineer for multiple OEM's. - Not as of this time. It is due for service on Thursday July 2nd for its 78C recall completion. At that time, I will have the dealership inspect it. - There were no warnings of any kind prior to each failure. I have only owned the vehicle for 14 days, and in that time, the issue has repeated 6 times. All when in full electric/battery mode, or, when in hybrid mode but the vehicle was operating solely on electric propulsion and the ICE was not on or engaged.

While driving down the highway, the instrument cluster flashed a lightning bolt and then went blank and the Jeep stalled. Completely lost power and had to stop on the edge of a busy interstate highway. Upon stopping and putting the Jeep in park and pressing the start button, everything lit up and the vehicle started, then immediately gave me a TPMS sensor failed warning and all pressure readings were blank, it periodically gave me a low pressure warning after that but I manually checked the pressure with a tire gauge and it was within in normal range on all five tires (including spare). After I restarted and drove a bit further, the same thing happened again. I looked at the voltage in the instrument display and what I saw was I am only getting to about 13.3v on start up and when idle (including coasting at highway speed) or stopped and ESS kicks in voltage drops to 12.2. I looked up the VIN on the MOPAR recall site and it shows that recall # 24V-652 has been previously marked as completed.

I have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid. When I first got the vehicle I could drive in the electric mode without kicking over to the gasoline mode. The manufacturer issued a recall for the battery due to fire danger. I had an update 68c performed by the dealer to address the recall issue. Upon getting my Jeep back I can no longer drive in the electric mode without the Jeep surging into and out of the gas mode. This happens at different times, slow speeds or fast speeds. The jeep does hesitate or bogs down prior to engaging the gas mode. After takinThe 68C recall was issued because the high-voltage battery cells have a defect (separator damage) that causes them to short-circuit and catch fire. To avoid replacing hundreds of thousands of expensive batteries all at once, Stellantis implemented a "fix" via a software flash. Here is exactly what that software is doing to your driving experience: Aggressive Battery Throttling: The new software heavily restricts how much power can be drawn from the high-voltage battery to keep it from getting warm. If you push the pedal enough to draw more than roughly 40–50% power—or if the battery temperature hits a strictly lowered threshold—the software abruptly chokes the electric motor. The "Bogging" Sensation: When the software chokes the battery, the vehicle experiences a sudden drop in power. This is the hesitation or "bogging down" you feel. The Violent Engine Surge: Because the electric motor just lost its punch, the computer frantically fires up the gasoline engine to make up the difference. Because there is an inherent delay while the gas engine starts up and matches the transmission speed, it engages with a sudden, frustrating lurch or surge. Because this clunky, unrefined behavior was intentionally coded into the 68C update by corporate engineers to limit fire risks, your local dealer's computer diagnostics read "No Errors Found" and "Operating as Designed."

My vehicle is confirmed affected by three active NHTSA safety recalls, none of which currently have an available remedy: • NHTSA Recall 25V741000 – High Voltage Battery May Fail and Cause Fire. Issued October 2025. This is the third recall issued for this same underlying defect. I have been monitoring this recall since it was issued — now over eight months later — with no resolution. • NHTSA Recall 25V710 (Manufacturer Recall A7C) – Loss of Motive Power While Driving. Issued October 2025. An interim backend policy update was implemented but does not constitute a full fix. • NHTSA Recall 26V363000 – Power Steering Wiring May Catch Fire. Issued June 2026. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a fire even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition off. No remedy currently available. As a result of recalls 25V741000 and 26V363000, Chrysler/FCA has officially instructed me to park my vehicle outside and away from all structures at all times, and to refrain from charging my vehicle until a remedy is available. That charging restriction is a serious problem independent of the safety concerns. I specifically chose and leased the 4xe model for its plug-in hybrid capability and the fuel economy benefits it provides. I am now officially instructed not to charge it — meaning the vehicle cannot be used as intended or as it was represented to me at the time of lease signing. I have been unable to charge my vehicle for eight months, with no remedy available and no timeline provided. I do not feel safe driving this car. It can catch fire not only while parked, but also while driving. I am paying $500 per month for a vehicle that cannot operate as intended, poses active safety risks with no fix available, and has been in this condition for the majority of my lease term. The value I am receiving does not reflect the payments I am making.

This is apparently an ongoing problem with all Jeep 4xe's that have passed the 68c recall. The vehicle will no longer operate in "Electric" mode in normal driving conditions, this is our second Wrangler 4xe and we have a total in excess of 50k miles of typical driving in "Electric" mode. The vehicle will no longer function safely in "Electric" mode as it did prior to the recall, it now fails to accelerate for minor hills and slows down to the point of causing following vehicles to come dangerously close to the rear of the vehicle. After a long delay with the pedal now to the floor and the vehicle slowing further as it's trying to go up an incline the ICE (gas engine) violently starts and lurches forward in an unnatural manner. The response by Stellantis is that this is "Normal" operation of the vehicle. I can 100% tell you this is not normal as neither of our 4xe's operated in this manner prior to the recall. I can only imagine what would happen if we attempted to merge into traffic or try to cross an intersection and this "Normal" operation happened.

Since having the battery recall done in January, my Jeep is a completely different car. In electric mode, it can no longer go up hills without losing significant power to the point where it slows down a lot. I have to manually change it to hybrid mode so that I don't get rear ended. It will no longer quickly and effectively change by itself like it did before the software update. It has also been having issues with power when going around turns or accelerating from a stopped position. In order to go more than 20-25 mph, I have to floor the pedal after completing the turn. This creates a problem when trying to merge into traffic and/or turning into the far lane and crossing traffic to do so. This puts myself and others in danger when trying to merge/cross. I have taken it back to the dealer twice now for power issues and this past time (June 2026), even though the techs could tell there was an issue, Jeep is saying that it's "normal" functioning after the recall update. There is no specific date for this incident, as it happens everytime I drive it. I can no longer trust this car to keep me safe in normal driving conditions.

1. The vehicle has experienced multiple safety-related defects and is available for inspection upon request: The Instrument Cluster Panel was subject to Safety Recall and required service. The radio system suffered an internal malfunction. The Electric Hydraulic Power Steering system was subject to a safety recall issued on June 11, 2026 and no remedy is currently available from the manufacturer. 2. The instrument cluster defect could prevent the driver from viewing critical safety information, like speed, odometer, and warning indicators. The Electric Hydraulic Power Steering defect poses an even greater risk, as a loss or reduction of steering assist could impair vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a crash. Additionally, the recalled steering system may overheat and cause a fire, whether the vehicle is being driven or the engine is off, creating an immediate life-threatening hazard to occupants, nearby persons, vehicles, and property. This is especially concerning as a Texas resident driving in the summer months with extreme temperatures. 3. The instrument cluster issue was addressed through recall service performed by an authorized Jeep dealership. The radio/internal failure was reported to the dealership, which acknowledged the malfunction. The power steering issue has also been recognized by the manufacturer through the issuance of a safety recall on 6/11/2026. 4. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced by authorized Jeep dealerships in connection with the instrument cluster recall and the reported radio malfunction. Additionally, the vehicle underwent multiple routine service inspections before the Power Steering recall was issued, and no steering-system defects or safety concerns were identified or disclosed. 5. No warnings or messages appeared before the failures. Radio failure caused infotainment screen to go blank while instrument cluster and power steering issues were identified by manufacturer recalls instead of vehicle warnings.

My Jeep Wrangler 4xe experiences an intermittent loss of propulsion and acceleration while operating in Electric Mode. Prior to the issue, the vehicle often exhibits surging and inconsistent power delivery. When the issue occurs, the vehicle may hesitate, provide significantly reduced acceleration, or fail to respond appropriately to accelerator pedal input. In some cases, a message appears stating that Electric Mode is unavailable and the gasoline engine starts. In other cases, the vehicle does not transition to Hybrid Mode and provides little or no propulsion from either the electric motor or gasoline engine. Despite pressing the accelerator pedal, including significant throttle input, the vehicle will continue rolling slowly and fail to accelerate as expected. This has occurred multiple times, including while entering roadways, crossing traffic, making left turns across oncoming traffic, and merging with traffic. On several occasions, I was unable to clear traffic as expected and was forced to take evasive action to avoid a potential collision. The condition creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle does not consistently respond when acceleration is needed to safely enter or cross traffic. The issue is intermittent and can occur multiple times during a single drive. It occurs regardless of battery charge level, battery temperature, or operating mode conditions. No warning lights or check engine lights remain illuminated after the event. I have noticed the issue may occur more frequently during rain or adverse weather conditions. My vehicle has been subject to multiple recalls, including recall 68C, but this concern has not been resolved. I am reporting this issue because I believe the intermittent loss of expected propulsion presents a safety risk to vehicle occupants and other motorists.

Received third notification of recall for the vehicle that I purchased from Don Jackson Jeep Cummings, GA on March 2024 by NHTSA. The first two recall warnings were 68C and 78C that Jeep stated was remedy via software. Software cannot guarantee that no electrical battery nor engine/transmission issue b/c the check engine light came on and vehicle kept at JEEP Morrow dealership for approximately 6 weeks. Notified approximately June 20, 2026, of third recall 26V363. I have requested and had several cases open with Jeep Customer Care requesting a buyback or trade in assistance due to negative equity in the vehicle due to uncertain of fire safety issue and concern that could potentially affect the general public, neighbors, daughter, self, and dwellings (e.g. home and community). The vehicle makes loud sounds, smell like smoke due to electrical fire, decrease in speed during acceleration, etc. Constant fear of family, neighbors, public safety, and self. "Begging" Jeep Customer Care to help me transition into another safe vehicle. Constantaly met with opposition and excuses like being told by two different managers (Darrel and Michael) that they have the final decision and no one that I can escalate my legitimate complaint. Requested in writing several times from Jeep customer care to put in writing why I am not eligible for a buyback, trade in assistance, help with negative equity, etc. No response. Cases closed. Due to the multiple recalls on Jeep 200-2024 wranglers for fire safety issues and no guarantee that a fire nor transmission or motor issues will occur, requesting NHTSA mandate that Stellantis remove these vehicle off the road and recall all these vehicles and make each customer who purchased these dangers vehicles whole instead of investing 71 billion dollars to revamp a company. Start with removing the vehicle that they knew had these issues into the market for the general public to purchase before someone gets serious injured and/or killed.

This complaint is based on four separate safety recalls affecting my vehicle — Recalls 56C, 68C (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-741), 21D (NHTSA Campaign No. 26V-363) and 78C (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-766) — which collectively demonstrate a pattern of serious, unresolved manufacturing defects involving both the high-voltage battery system and the gasoline engine. Stellantis has materially and permanently diminished my vehicle's performance and value through undisclosed recall remedies, left my vehicle subject to dual fire risks with no complete remedy available as none of the recalls actually made any functional repairs but rather reduced the risk to Stellantis, and subjected my engine to a potential catastrophic sand contamination defect for which the recall did not actually repair along with additional wear and tear on the combustion engine beyond the original design specifications of the vehicle. Perhaps no single fact better illustrates the magnitude of what Stellantis has taken from me than this: post-68C, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe — purchased at a significant price premium over standard Wrangler models specifically for its hybrid efficiency — now achieves no better real-world fuel economy in charged or depleted mode than the base 3.6L V6 Wrangler that costs thousands of dollars less. The EPA-rated combined gas-only MPG figures for the 2024 Wrangler lineup are as follows: •3.6L V6 (automatic, four-door): EPA-rated 19 MPG combined (17 city / 23 highway); •3.6L V6 with eTorque (automatic, four-door): EPA-rated 19–20 MPG combined; •2.0L Turbo (four-door): EPA-rated 20–21 MPG combined; •4xe PHEV (charge-depleted, gas only): EPA-rated 20 MPG combined — now further reduced by the 68C software restriction. All of which came at an $8-12K premium due to the PHEV vs. a standard V6 engine.

While driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on the Garden State Parkway and approaching traffic on the Driscoll Bridge, a turtle warning icon suddenly appeared on the dashboard, indicating limited vehicle performance. Moments later, the dashboard displayed a message instructing me to "Shift to Park." Immediately after this warning, the vehicle suffered a complete hybrid/electrical system failure and lost all motive power. The vehicle became completely unresponsive, and I was unable to accelerate, move the vehicle, or restart it. The vehicle came to a stop in an active travel lane of the Garden State Parkway on the Driscoll Bridge, leaving me stranded in live highway traffic. This created an immediate and serious safety hazard, as vehicles were approaching from behind and I was exposed to the risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle could not be moved under its own power and had to be removed from the travel lane and towed to a nearby parking lot. Roadside assistance later performed a battery reset, which temporarily restored vehicle operation and allowed me to drive the vehicle home. No permanent repair was performed, and the cause of the failure remains unresolved. The vehicle currently has multiple open safety recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery system. Stellantis has also recently announced an additional recall involving electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring and fire risk. The primary defect is the sudden loss of propulsion and complete electrical/hybrid system shutdown while driving, resulting in the vehicle becoming disabled in active highway traffic without warning. This defect created an immediate risk of a serious crash and could have resulted in severe injury or death.

Engine turns off while driving down road, have to pull over, restart vehicle to unlock gear shifter. Taken to Deery Iowa City three times to fix the dangerous problem and Deery Iowa City are only resetting the computer and turning off while driving down road continues happening. I have not been provided a safe loaner vehicle for over 12 days in shop. I cannot risk me and my daughter's safety resulting from this dangerous problem refusing to be fixed.

2024 Wrangler RHD. After being parked overnight pushing the start button clicks once as if the battery is weak. A second push of the start button the Jeep starts normally. Also, the clock resets itself 4 hours ahead. The HVAC temperature resets itself to 72 degrees regardless of where it was when parked. When shifting into reverse the backup camera displays a blue screen. Dealership is going to ensure software is current and check the battery. This is an ongoing issue.

The dealership failed to confirm parts availability, gave no clear answers, and ultimately hung up on me during our conversation. Despite the NHTSA website confirming that parts for recall 25V741000 are available, the dealership was unable to schedule an appointment and provided no solution. I am being forced to drive a vehicle with an active fire hazard while the dealership refuses to take responsibility or provide timely service. This is a serious safety concern and I am requesting immediate action. NHTSA Complaint Description What Happened & Safety Risk: While driving a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe at highway speeds on Interstate 84, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, unrecoverable loss of motive power. Without any warning, the vehicle completely seized up, shut down, and turned off entirely while moving in active traffic. This exact life-threatening failure has now occurred twice. Operating a vehicle that completely dies at highway speeds places the driver, passengers, and all surrounding traffic at an extreme risk of a high-speed rear-end collision, as the vehicle loses all ability to accelerate or safely clear the roadway. Component/System Malfunction: The failure lies within the hybrid propulsion system and electrical/software communication network (specifically relating to active Federal Recalls 25V710 for Hybrid Control Processor software shutdown and 25V766 for engine sand contamination). The vehicle is absolutely available for inspection upon request. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The problem is currently being evaluated. The vehicle is currently held at an authorized Stellantis dealership service department, where it was brought immediately following the most recent highway shutdown. Warning Symptoms: There were no advance warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or performance symptoms prior to the failure. The loss of propulsion and complete vehicle shutdown occurred instantaneously and without warning while traveling at highway speeds.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has an active safety recall involving possible catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and sudden loss of propulsion. The manufacturer recall states that sand contamination inside the engine may lead to engine failure and vehicle fire. The recall remains incomplete and the manufacturer states the repair remedy is still under development. I was informed that repair parts or a permanent repair are not currently available. This creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may suddenly lose propulsion or experience a fire risk while driving or parked. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. I started my Jeep in my driveway and a warning quickly flashed onto the center screen just before the Check Engine Light illuminated. I attempted to test drive it. The vehicle started cutting out before the engine started racing. I was able to stop at the end of my street. I made a U-Turn to return to my home and the Jeep started bucking and jerking wildly as I was attempting to stop in front of my house. It was at that time it stopped running and locked itself in PARK. I called a tow to the dealer. The tow driver was also unable to move the vehicle as it was still locked in PARK. He was able to drag it onto the flatbed. Upon inspection at the dealer, they stated that the hybrid battery had failed and needs to be replaced. This was a dangerous enough situation but had this of happened in traffic or worse yet on the highway, it would have made for a much more dangerous situation where someone could have been killed. This is not the first time I've had drivability and loss of motive power issues with this vehicle. The last time a few months ago I brought it to the dealer's attention and explained the problem and the danger. The dealer advised me that the software after the 68C Recall will reduce power to protect the hybrid battery. It seems that Jeep is trying to save money rather than do the right thing and buy back these dangerous vehicles. Jeep customer service basically told me that it's my problem. I just want the Jeep fixed or bought back. It is not a safe vehicle to drive without fear of being smashed into from the rear. The Jeep is currently at the dealer waiting for a replacement hybrid battery. It is my understanding that the replacement battery will be the exact same as the defective one and runs the same chance of being defective and dangerous. How is this even allowed to happen?
