The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle sputtered and lost power. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that a mobile mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

The contact owned a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle entered LIMP Mode, and inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the CP4 fuel pump and informed the contact that there was rust on the fuel pump because of water damage, even though the water sensor failed to detect the presence of water within the fuel system. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 89,000.

The contact's fiancé owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while the driver was driving 70 MPH, the vehicle shut off inadvertently. The contact's fiancé was able to pull to the side of the road. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel injector pump had failed and there were metal shavings in the fuel filter, which caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was being repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving up a slight incline and pulling a trailer a burning type odor was suddenly present inside the cabin and the check engine light had flashed on before the vehicle began to lose power and stalled. After lifting the hood smoke and flames were present coming from the engine compartment. The contact attempted to extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful and the flames intensified and began to spread to the cabin of the vehicle. Eventually the vehicle was completely destroyed from the flames. A fire report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. A police report was not taken. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified of the incident. The contact also indicated that a motorist observed fuel leaking from under the vehicle prior to the incident. The failure mileage was 28,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the vehicle started shuddering and lost motive power. The message "Engine Failure" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with high-pressure fuel pump failure. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel injectors, the high-pressure fuel pump, and the fuel lines needed to be replaced, Additionally, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) fuel tank needed to be cleaned. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,942.
