The contact owns a 2015 Ford Taurus. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked at a local car wash, there was water leaking into the front of the windshield. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was inspected. The contact was informed that the exterior A-pillar trim had detached from the front of the windshield. The contact was informed that the exterior A-pillar trim needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLAMPS WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
