For more than a year, my car has been having issues starting up. It rarely starts on the first attempt. It usually starts on the second attempt. Brakes- rear calipers wear uneven on the inside pad 5mm outer and 1mm on inner. This is a safety hazard because seeing the outer pad still was in specifications that I did not need to replace them just yet. Got my car completely inspected due to grinding noise and found that the inner pad was metal to metal ruined my rotor costing me more money as well as if I hadn’t gotten it inspected could have caused an accident. Headlights- new battery installed and headlights still flicker sometimes even completely turn off, I have to pull over and bang on the housing to get them to power back on. That is also a risk to my safety and others if they are to completely turn off again in the night time others won’t see me. Not the only time it has happened. I’ve ran recalls on my vin but dealer said there was no open recalls.

I am experiencing electric power steering loss on my 2014 Honda Accord LX. Every time I make a sharp turn to pull into a parking space the electric power steering cuts out. And then comes back on when I stop turning the steering wheel. This happened to me about 3 or 4 times with the last incident happening to me today. Now a check engine light is illuminated. There were no lamps illuminated prior to this. When the steering cuts out I can't control the car as the steering is frozen and it is too hard to turn the steering wheel and can easily cause an accident. I am going to bring it to the dealer ASAP.

The contact stated that while their family member was driving at 20 mph and attempting to make a left turn when the vehicle suddenly began to pull to the left independently. The driver ended up making a U-turn due to the failure and was on the other side of the road when the vehicle crashed into a tree. The air bag did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed, however, they were still waiting on the status of the vehicle's condition. The driver sustained bruising to chest area and medical attention was needed. The contact stated that they believed their issue related to NHTSA Investigation EA21001. The contact had not spoken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15, 000.

A strange thing occurred while I was dropping my grandchildren to school on 3/30/22 at 8:45 AM.  After dropping off the kids, as I started the car in the car drop off lane, there was no acceleration despite me hitting the accelerator, the car would not accelerate, and cars exiting the school parking lot backed up behind my car. Suddenly, the car accelerated in an uncontrolled manner on its own, brakes did not work, and all warning lights on the side of the dashboard came on.  I steered the car towards an empty area and was ready to crash it into an obstacle to bring it to a stop.  I tried to put the car in park but despite putting it in park, the car continued its acceleration forward. I also tried to turn off the car by hitting the start/stop button but the car would not turn off. The car accelerated uncontrollably for at least 0.3 miles. After this uncontrolled and automatic acceleration, the car came to a stop. I had the car towed to the Honda dealership. Honda dealership advisor told me that there was no recall on this model.  However, a quick search on car message boards shows that this phenomenon of sudden and uncontrolled acceleration has been reported on 2014, and 2015 and 2016 Honda Accord model year cars as well. The problem is with the ignition starter, I had it replaced in January 2022 because sometimes the car did not start when pressing the ignition starter there was a grinding noise. All other functions worked, headlights, radio, signals etc. but the car did not start. If the battery was jumped then the car started so there is power going to the car. After the replacement I had no issues until Sunday 3/27/2022 when I went to start my vehicle and got the grinding noise again. The cost was $550.00 to put in a new starter. Now this issue is all over Honda's website with complaints, so why hasn't anything been done about it? The wires need to have protection on them because of corrosion caused by winter conditions in the north where there is salt used on the highways. I feel a recall should be done on these models.

My daughter was backing my car into the garage when the car started to roll forward, hitting my other car, I asked if she put it in drive and she told me no. I asked her to place the emergency brake on. I then pushed the car into the garage. I asked a mechanic to come look at the car, in my garage, he told me the axle had broke. I asked him if has ever seen this and he said it was very unusual. He also told me it looks as if has rusted in the spot that broke. I looked on the internet and noticed a recall on Honda accord axles rusting, do to not being rust proofed and the he salt in the Midwest region causing the axle to rust. The component was front axle. Hit another car Not sure if the problem has been reproduced The component has not been inspected by the following. (vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives) It has been inspected by a mechanic. No warning lamps or messages.

Driving home from work on an icy road, the Steering Failed. The Car would not turn left or right, I was on a highway, driving at 55 mph and had to stop the car. The front axles of my front wheel drive car are rusting. The NHTSA has issued a safety recall for this problem (Recall Number 20V-769, MFR Campaign ID: W9F, Campaign Description: 2013-2015 Accord Driveshaft Inspection Safety Recall, Recall Date: 12/18/2020). Honda issued a service bulletin (#20-125), however my VIN number is not included in this recall. This is a dangerous situation if one of the axles were to fail at a high speed (I drive about 100 highway miles per day, M-F). I filed a request with Honda to include pay for the repair to my car, but today (2/2/22) they declined my request because the VIN number is not included in the safety recall. I have pictures of the rust on each axle and have a certified Honda mechanic's report (from the Honda dealership where I bought the car) that recommends both front axles be replaced due to this problem

Windshield wiper motor has failed at approximately 26k miles. I own a 1997 chevy k1500 with 217k miles and the windshield wiper motor has never been replaced and still works. For my Honda to have this low of mileage and have this failure rate, I'm unsure of how to repair. Cannot find an aftermarket part at any of the local parts stores and am unsure of using factory remanufactured because of the failure rate being so soon, I don't trust the remanufactured and they never have good warranties and generally high in price from Honda.

The power steering stops working while driving and steering becomes very difficult. The power steering warning light also goes on. Honda Repair in San Rafael has had my car 3 times for repair, and they also replaced the power steering at no charge. Unfortunately, the problem persists. As far as I know, Honda has not been able to reproduce the problem. It happens after at least 30 minutes of driving. When I stop the car and turn it off the problem clears. 1/23/22 was the last time it happened to me. The car is with Honda Repair now.
