I thought I was just imagining that my brakes felt like they were not stopping properly, but I see a recall with other Honda's that have the same issue I have with my brakes. If I tape these brakes fast or hard they feel like they are not going to stop. They also feel like there is air in the air or something of that nature which means this 2014 Im driving has an issue with the brake as well. I keep them serviced but they feel the same way even after changing all the hardware and software.

I was driving on a highway at around 75 mph when I suddenly lost power. I could hear the engine running but there was no power in the wheel. I could feel that the vehicle was decelerating so in panic I activated the emergency light and immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the road. Even when the vehicle was idle for some time, I could hear the engine running but there was no power on the wheel, so I think the issue is with transmission. The vehicle is not movable but if you guys are willing to visit me, it is available for inspection. This issue put my safety as well as the safety of others at risk as it suddenly lost power in an expressway. If I hadn't realized the deceleration sooner, I would have been in a bad rear-end accident with other vehicle. I will be taking my vehicle to a Honda dealership soon for diagnosis. No, the vehicle has not been inspected by any of the mentioned parties. As far as I know, there were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

The power steering has gone out multiple times while driving down the road. It was replaced 20 days ago and less than 600 miles has been put on it and it went out again. My steering wheel locked up and I lost all control of the car. This put myself and others at risk because I have no use of the steering wheel when it goes out. The problem was reproduced and a new rack put on and in less than 600 miles it happened again. There were no warning signs or lights that appeared before it happened. They come on at the time the steering goes out.

I received a diagnosis from Honda Dealership today that my 2014 vehicle has a failed VSA Modulator which regulates brakes and all abs features. They stated it was only from wear and tear on my vehicle. I am only at 109,000 miles. They quoted me a price of $3000.00 to fix the problem and noted I could not pick up my car without signing a statement that I understood the problem and understood that my brakes would eventually fail without fixing the problem. I cannot currently afford to fix the problem or safely drive my vehicle.

While driving one day in early April 2023 , numerous system warning lights such as braking and collision alert lights came on. I took the car to Germain Honda of Dublin. They told me that the VSA MODULE CONTROL UNIT needed to be replaced. Next they told me the part was on back order. As of today, 7/14/23 it is still on back order. Dealer tells me it is okay to drive the car. A lot can go wrong in 3 months. Today I discovered the 2013 Honda Accord has the same type of problem and is on recall for repairs to be done. 1. Starting System I have had trouble starting with the push button for about 3 weeks. It sometimes would take several tries before turning over. Most times, it would start in 1 – 2 attempts. It was worse this last week. I had to try more often, especially on Thursday night. I did not drive at all on Friday. On Saturday 7/1/23, I drove to the pharmacy less than < 1 mile. it did not start after dozens of tries after shopping. I walked home. Later, I had other errands taking our Odyssey. Back at the parking lot, I tried again dozens of times and it would not start. I tried moving the gears from park to neutral, trying to start it and going back again. I called AAA for a tow and called service department to let you know of the issue and the towing to the dealership. I had noticed that when pressing down on the brake pedal, the car started most often when the pedal went down easily. It would usually not start with the pedal being very stiff. 2. Warning Lights on dashboard On Thursday 6/30/23, the warning lights on the dashboard all lit up and stayed lit. The odometer message was FCW failed. I had this problem before which should be in the service history of the vehicle. That problem occurred in August, 2019 and beyond. The throttle assembly was ultimately replaced, and it worked fine after that until now. I had been advised by one of the service representatives to use Shell or Costco gas. I have done that for over 90% of the fill-ups. In the past, the system would reset itself. But several times, the car went into “Creep Mode” when the errors occurred. Once while crossing the border into Niagra Falls, Canada and on I-90 in rush hour traffic. 3.Stalling I have had several cases when the car stalled when idling at stop lights, in stop and go traffic or in reverse. I was nearly a hood ornament for an 18-wheeler in Columbia, SC in April. It stalled and took several attempts to start.

The VSA ABS modulator failed, and it will be available for inspection upon request. The failure of this causes the ABS system to not work along with traction control. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic that pulled the codes and then taken for an estimate to the Honda dealer who confirmed the issue with the modulator. There are 4 warning lights in addition to the "FCW System Failed" message on the dash. The ABS light, traction control, FCW, and Tire Pressure indicator lamps all display and cannot be cleared. The FCW System Failed message cannot be cleared to be able to see other maintenance that is due such as an oil change or to view current mileage. The message and warning lights just popped up unexpectedly while pulling into to parking spot. For a brief time, the steering wheel would shake while driving making it appear that there was another issue, but there was not.

Had a call from Honda to check drive axle for corrosion. I took the car in. They said they were ok. I had some work done yesterday and my mechanic is very concerned about my axles saying they were badly rusted out. Looked almost completely corroded and I should do something about them. I'm not sure what to do as I have been to Honda for other reasons just recently and they did not say anything about that in their usual reports they give when you show up there so I figured to talk about it here to see if I could get some help. I only have pictures of them and they look very bad.

The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the power steering suddenly malfunctioned causing the steering wheel to become difficult to turn in either direction and nearly causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and drive into the opposite lane while oncoming traffic was approaching. The contact used an OBD reader and retrieved a code for the steering torque sensor. The contact was informed that the steering torque sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The failure mileage was 120,000.

On June second this year I started my Accord and drove on the freeway adjacent to my home for a few minutes and the ABS, traction control, and the brakes warning lights displayed on the dashboard. Hello, The ABS and Traction Control lights of my car came on a few weeks ago. I took it to the dealer and they did a diagnostics and they said it is a faulty/bad ABS (VSA) module (computer). Thee car has fairly low mileage and I did not expect the car to have any serious safety issue at around 65000 miles. The dealer told me the part costs about $1500 and the labor is $600. It is too much for me too afford and it is a safety issues at the same time. When I did a bit of online research I saw it is a popular issue for Honda owners and a lot of them complain and suffer about it. It reveals that Honda has a design flaw with any ABS/VSA module. apparently the module is not designed to tolerate the operating condition of the car (vibration, temperature...) and it gets faulty after a few years or some thousand miles. It is very popular. I could provide evidence of it based on my online research. Some Honda owners apparently try to reset the computer and turn of the light (mask the issue) since it is very costly to replace the part but they do not understand the safety impact it has on the passengers. Apparently Honda is ware of its design flaw too but because of the large cost of this module tries to deny or hide it. If you do online research on Honda accord or civic (all accord and civic after 2011, 2012) ABS or VSA module/modulator issues you will see bunch of it. It is a popular issue which needs a bigger action. Since it is safety and it is Honda's design flaw I wanted to report it to you. Please investigate this safety issue further. It might end up being a recall due to safety and since some owners ignore or reset it due to the very high cost. Please help. It is very costly to fix it as you see and I do not want to pay since the vehicles is fairly low millage and it is a Honda's design flaw. You don't see this issue on Internet with Toyotas or Nissans.

The power steering seemed to have gotten "stuck" in place or so it felt or seemed for a short time while driving. I have noticed that when I am turning the wheel that I can hear noise when turning as if it's not moving smoothly. If my power steering stops working while driving or gets stuck, then that could pose a serious problem to me and other drivers. The problem is daily now with the sound of every left or right turn. This component has not been inspected by anyone yet. There weren't any warnings.

I have found that the VSA Module is responsible- the solenoid is bad. This part needs to be replaced but is on back order with an unknown date when it will be available. Honda has been aware of this problem for many years!! This is a safety issue and is unsafe to operate this vehicle. As there are no replacements available there is no other option but to drive it as I need my car. If an accident occurs due to this part malfunctioning it will be Hondas responsibility due to the fact that they have known this is a problem and that there are no replacements available!!

I had several warning light appear on the dashboard, and the dealership said that my VSA modulator was starting to go bad. This device controls power steering, anti-lock brakes and other functions. While driving to the Honda service department, the brakes were very low and the steering was loose (dangerous conditions). After doing some research, I found that Honda recalled the VSA modulator on other models, but not for my 2014 Accord. Many other owners of the same model stated that their VSA modulators failed around 34k-36k miles (right at the end of warranty). I still have the original VSA modulator, the dealer just reset the warning lights and sent me on my way. I am writing to request an investigation for Honda to extend the VSA modulator recall to more models, such as the 2014 Accord.

The EPS on my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L did not perform its primary functions. Such as steering. The steering wheel became very difficult to move.
