The backup camera on the Ford Transit Connect 2014 has failed, making the vehicle unsafe, particularly for backing over pedestrians or small children difficult to see in mirrors. We see that recalls on the backup camera have been issued for models 2015 and later, but it is apparent that this is an issue for earlier models as well. Please require that Ford address the problem with all models.

Back up camera cuts off at random times when backing or is not available at all. There is a recall our 2015 Tranist Connect for this issues but no recall issued on the 2014 model year. We basically cannot safely back up in this van.

This here is the continuation of complain # 11736595 and Ford case # 01747943. The aim is to inform NHTSA and Ford that this issue at hand is already a recall from other years on the same car model, materialized by NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V192 and Ford Recall Number: 22S20. There is no need to identify if this issue can be recalled, it was already identified as necessary in the past. Yet, this one VIN here was left out from the list. The images attached here will show: water dripping from center mirror on dashboard, windshield fog on just about every morning and drive without AC and a video (available) showing windshield glass completely off from its adhesive. Solution offered is having Ford to also include this and other related VINs to its recall 22S20 or create a new near identical recall.

The Rear View Camera keeps doing weird things. One time you back up, it could be fine. The next time the picture will be upside down. The next time - no picture at all. The next time it could say that the camera is not working..... Ford issued a Recall on a LOT of models regarding this issue - they need to include my vehicle model and others.

The backup camera flips the image upside down and has static throughout the image. Occasionally it blinks out completely. This began happening on an occasional basis over the past few years, but in the past year it has been consistently upside down all the time.

The larger middle bench seat gets stuck and often won't fold down from its up position; this began several years ago, I've just been living with it. Recently it also began to get stuck in both positions -- won't fold down when up, and also won't unfold back up when it's been down. I took this vehicle in to the dealership to get this issue fixed a few years back, and they were unable to figure out what was wrong, but still charged me full price for service. I am now driving with the faulty seat and these days often have to transport passengers, frequently kids in my family, and I'm not sure if it's safe.

The vehicle now has 130K miles on it and the dash instrument lights are getting so dim that I can not see the speedometer on a sunny day. The dealership says the adjustment is all the way up for dash light brightness, but the lights are just not bright enough anymore. This affects all the dash cluster instruments, both the digital speedometer and the analog speedometer.

For starters, about 2-3 days before August 6, 2024 (the day I took my van to Autozone to diagnose my check engine light) my ford transit shot a check engine light due to a "P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire". On August 8, 2024 after dropping my van off once the mechanic opened, around 11:27 AM i received a call from the mechanic I was referred to by the dealership I bought the van from that the car was fixed and ready to go. I was also told by one of the mechanics that work at the shop that the threading on the spark plugs were stripped, these were the original spark plugs that came with the vehicle when i purchased it before the misfire happened. On August 10th after work, my transmission had failed on me and i was not able to park my car, i ended up having to let my car roll back on a hill, blocking a strangers driveway having to call a tow truck around 11pm-12am. After having to wait some time, the same mechanic i was referred to by my dealership called me a day after receiving the new transmission telling me the van was ready. Not only did they try to charge me an extra $200, but the car wouldn't even start once i paid the balance due and tried to leave, and to top it all off there was still a jerk in the transmission every time i tried to put it in drive, the job was rushed. Less than a week later, the van was displaying another check engine light related to the same misfire as before, and also a transmission failure message on my dashboard while on the highway with my dog in the back. I'm a dog trainer and need the vehicle to safely transport animals to and from north to south jersey. I have not been able to do so due to all the complications I've been encountering with the vehicle. I dropped the van off Thursday August 29th and have not received any updates from the same mechanic and it has been 5 days (today's Sept. 3rd). I understand labor day just passed but I was told by the head of the shop that they would look at it Friday Aug 30th & update me asap.

Hello. We were passing a tractor trailer on the interstate and at 75 mph the transmission shifted into low gear all by itself. We never went into passing gear just accelerating. The vehicle nosedived, rpm’s went up, blew the transmission fluid out all over the exhaust with major smoke, threw us into the dash, and went to about 5 mph all in about .5 seconds leaving us in the middle of the interstate in 5:00 traffic. Tractor trailers stopped and let us get the vehicle to the side .If my daughter had not been behind us I’m sure one of the tractor trailers would have hit us because my brake lights didn’t come on because I never hit the brakes. The vehicle is sitting in my driveway where it was towed. No one has looked at it and it now has a check engine light on.

Door latches - Took this vehicle into Hopkins Ford Dealer in Elgin IL. The parts aren't in so it is delaying the repair. The main question I have is every time I have a recall I am told I have to wait for the part to break so they can send to Ford as proof in order to get the parts. This does not make sense to me as this is a safety issue am I to wait to get injured because the recalled part finally breaks and then I can use the recall to repair my vehicle?

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon verdict →
