CLASSIC CHEVERLOT SOLD ME MY TAHOE AND TAKING RESPONSIBILITY SINCE DAY ONE FOR THE ORIGINAL RECALL . I HAVE BEEN HERE 2015/2016/ 2017/2018/2019 FOR THE 'TRAILER BREAKING SYSTEM ' PER DASH BOARD FLASHING AT ME. THEN CAR DOESN'T WANT TO START AND IT'S NOT MY BATTERY!!! IT'S A DEFECT IN THE CAR MODULE SYSTEM!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL MODULE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC CHEVROLET (1909 HIGHWAY 377, EAST GRANBURY, TX 76049, 877-558-4005) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

MY TAHOE HAS ONLY 40,000 MI. WHEN BRAKING THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND SHIVERS ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I REPLACED MY TIRES EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ONLY HALF WORN TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT IT DIDN'T CHARGE ANYTHING. #2 COMPLAINT IS MY REAR DOORS FILL WITH WATER WHEN IT RAINS. AFTER LOOKING UP THIS PROBLEM ON LINE,IT APPEARS THAT THEY ARE MADE TO DO THAT AND I DO THINK THAT SHOULD BE THAT WAY!

BOTH FRONT DOORS HAVE LOST ALL PLASTIC IN THE DOOR HANDLE MAKING IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GRIP DOOR TO CLOSE THE DOORS, NO FORM LEFT TO DOOR HANDLE. BOTH DOOR AND DASH HAVE BEEN THIS WAY FOR 2 YEARS AND OUT OF WARRANTY SO NO ONE WILL FIX THE ISSUES!

CHEVROLET AND MY DEALERSHIP ARE NOT HELPING ME TO REPLACE MY DASH. MY CAR IS NOT THAT OLD AND OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. WHEN DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY IT STARTS TO CRACK MORE AND RADDLE AND SHAKE . I AM AFRAID THAT THE DASH OR STEERING COLUMN IS GOING TO COME OFF IF THERE WERE TO BE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE CALLED GM AND THEY HAVE NO REGARDS OR CONCERNS FOR MY SAFETY AND TOLD ME ITS MY PROBLEM.

THE DEALER IS GIVING A DISCOUNT. BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND THIS IS COMMON WITH CHEVROLET TAHOE'S. I WANT TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS ISSUE . I OWN A 2014 TAHOE WITH ONLY 34000 MILES, A VEHICLE I'M STILL PAYING FOR. A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE DASHBOARD CRACKED FOR NO REASON. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THOUSANDS OF GM VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED BY THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. THE CRACK NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE BUT ALSO THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGERS AS IT MAY PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG DURING DEPLOYMENT OR SHARP PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD CAN FLY OUT AS THE DASHBOARD IS SO BRITTLE. AS A GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER I FIND IT DISTURBING THAT THE NHTSA HAS TURNED A BLIND EYE TO THIS PROBLEM. IT IS OBVIOUS A DEFECT AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AND IGNORING, PUTTING HUNDRES OF LIVES AT RISK TO SAVE GM'S BOTTOM LINE, IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE EXHAUSTED COUNTLESS HOURS DEALING WITH GM'S CUSTOMER SERVICES REPS AND THEY ALL WORK OUT OF A UNIFIED SCRIPT AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND REPLACE THE PART. NOW I FIND MYSELF DRIVING A TIME BOMB WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. I AM BEGGING YOUR AGENCY TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AGAIN AND TO NOT LOOK THE OTHER WAY. MY DASHBOARD HAS A 2" CRACK STARTING FROM THE TOP OF THE AIRBAG AND RUNNING UP TO THE HEAT EXCHANGE VENT. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AND I HEARD A POPPING/CRACKING SOUND AND AFTER I RETURNED FROM MY TRIP I NOTICED THE SMALL CRACK IN THE DASH.THE CRACK CONTINUES TO GROW AND NOW HAS SPREAD ALONG THE HEAT EXCHANGE. CHEVROLET SAID I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DASH AT MY EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND BECAUSE SUCH CARE HAS BEEN PROVIDED IT SHOULD BE WARRANTIED BY CHEVROLET.

A NUMBER OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN ARIZONA ARE CONTINUING TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH 2012-2017 CHEVROLET TAHOE PPV'S ON HIGH TEMPERATURE DAYS. THE PROBLEM MANIFESTS ITSELF AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 100 DEGREES, EXHIBITS LACK OF ACCELERATION PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND STALLING WHEN BOTH IN MOTION AND SITTING IDLING. THE, ISSUE, FOR THE ORO VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED IN THE SUMMER OF 2015 AND INCLUDED VEHICLES IN OUR FLEET FROM 2012'S THROUGH 2015'S. THIS SUMMER, MORE VEHICLES EXHIBITED THE ISSUES TO INCLUDE 2016'S INCLUDING ANOTHER AGENCY'S 2017 THAT BECAME AN ITEM OF DISCUSSION AT A GM CONFERENCE ON FLEET VEHICLES HELD UP IN PHOENIX. GM SPENT APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AND A HALF TRYING TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM TO EVENTUALLY DETERMINE THAT THE FUEL PUMPS NEEDED TO BE REDESIGNED ALONG WITH A NEW HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE. WE HAVE HAD SOME VEHICLES RECEIVE THE NEW PUMPS, BUT NOT ALL AS THE ISSUES WENT AWAY AS THE TEMPERATURES WENT BELOW 100. AT THIS DATE WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE "FIX" IS LIMITED TO 2015'S AND 16'S AND ARE LEFT WITH POSSIBLE ISSUES WITH 2012-2014'S. AT A GM CONFERENCE ON 6/29/17, IN DISCUSSION WITH THE REGIONAL FLEET SALES REP FOR GM, WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO REDESIGNED FUEL PUMPS AND HIGH PRESSURES HOSES AVAILABLE IN THE U.S. AND NO TIME TABLE FOR THE EXISTENCE OF SAME. IT WAS LEARNED AT THE GM CONFERENCE THAT NUMEROUS AGENCIES ARE EXPERIENCING THE ISSUES. OUR DEPARTMENT HAS DOCUMENTATION THAT WOULD FAIRLY CLEARLY SHOW THAT THE ISSUES DESCRIBED ARE OCCURRING TO CIVILIAN CHEVROLET TAHOES ALSO. INDICATIONS ARE GM CONTINUES TO PUT OLD FUEL PUMPS ON VEHICLES PRODUCED AFTER THE REDESIGN. THE POOR ACCELERATION AND STALLING IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT. GM HAS BEEN LESS THAN HELPFUL IN CORRECTING THE OVERALL PROBLEMS AND LESS THAN FORTHCOMING ABOUT THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF AN INTERIM RECALL NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER CONCERNING THE AIR BAGS IN MID JULY OF 2016. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER (COVERT BUICK GMC 11750 RESEARCH BLVD, AUSTIN, TX 78759 (512) 583-3411) INDICATED THAT FURTHER TESTING WAS BEING DONE FOR MONTHS BY GM AND THEY HAD NOT YET PROVIDED A REMEDY AND PARTS TO SERVICE THE AIR BAG ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AGAIN TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR PARTS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN ACCELERATING, HIGHWAY AND SUBDIVISION STREETS, THE VEHICLES TRAILER BRAKE WOULD ENGAGE AND THE CAR WOULD BECOME UNSAFE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE'S RADIO WOULD ALSO RANDOMLY RESTART, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD FLICKER ON AND OFF AND THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WOULD CYCLE UP AND DOWN CONTINUOUSLY. THE ONLY WANT TO RESET THE VEHICLE WAS TO TURN IT OFF FOR A LITTLE BIT AND THEN BACK ON AND THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS ONLINE OF OTHER CHEVY VEHICLES HAVING VERY SIMILAR ISSUES, ALL WHICH SEEM TO BE RELATED TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE NOT PROPERLY HANDLING THE LOAD AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED.

GM RECALL NUMBER: 16145 INDICATES ENGINE COOLING FAN FIRE IS POSSIBLE AND VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE LEFT TO IDLE. OUR DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED IN NOVEMBER BUT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO MAKE THE CORRECTION. THIS POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS MANY OF THESE TAHOES AFFECTED AND 3 OF THEM ARE K-9 VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE LONG PERIODS OF IDLING TO KEEP THE K-9 COOL. (I AM SURE THIS IS THE CASE FOR POLICE DEPTS. ACROSS THE US) I HAVE CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUESTING MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RECALL PARTS PRODUCTION OR IF THERE IS ANYTHING THEY CAN DO FOR OUR K-9 VEHICLES SPECIFICALLY BEFORE THE WEATHER GETS WARMER AND I WAS NOT GIVEN ANY ASSISTANCE. I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE TO CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR INFORMATION. THEY GAVE ME A REFERENCE NUMBER TO MY CASE 8-2851903801. *THIS IS THE VIN I USED WHEN CONTACTING GM, NOTE WE HAVE OTHER VEHICLES WE WANT FIXED QUICKLY ALSO. WE HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE YET BUT THIS KNOWN PROBLEM PUTS LAW ENFORCEMENT AT RISK OF LONG RESPONSE TIME AND A SERVICE ANIMAL AT RISK FOR FATALITY OR HARM.
