UKNOWN My 11 year old son was sitting in the front passenger seat. He unbuckled the seat belt and twisted to get out of the car. He found he was twisted in the seat belt with the retractor locked. First, I moved the car from the sloped driveway to the flat garage in an attempt to remove the effect of gravity on the retractor. Then, I tried to feed the seat belt back into the retractor but the retractor remained lock. We reclined the seat, raised the seat and I tried to yank the belt 4 times to override the retractor but I was not able to loosen it. I eventually cut the seatbelt to remove my son.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2026 Honda Prologue Bev verdict →
