The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), specifically the airbag system, is the component of concern. During a two-impact collision involving my 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE, none of the airbags deployed despite significant front-end damage that resulted in the vehicle being declared a total loss. The vehicle is currently in the possession of the insurance company or its storage facility. I do not know whether it has been released for salvage, but it may still be available for inspection. I, my wife, and our children were all wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. After an oncoming vehicle struck the front-left portion of my vehicle while making a left turn, my vehicle lost control and collided with a concrete pillar. None of the airbags deployed during either impact. All occupants sustained injuries and were transported to the emergency department. I suffered injuries to my right leg, wrist, chest, neck and back. My wife sustained injuries to her neck, chest, back, and knee, and our children sustained injuries including head impacts. My wife and I continue to receive physical therapy. The vehicle was declared a total loss following the collision, and no dealer or independent repair facility has evaluated or reproduced the concern. The vehicle was inspected by the responding law enforcement officers at the crash scene, and a police crash report was completed. The insurance company (GEICO and Allstate Fire and Casualty) inspected the vehicle and declared it a total loss. To my knowledge, Toyota has not yet inspected the vehicle, and I do not know whether the Event Data Recorder (EDR) or Supplemental Restraint System has been analyzed. Prior to the collision, I did not observe any airbag warning lights, SRS warning messages, or other indications that there was a problem with the Supplemental Restraint System. The vehicle was operating normally before the crash.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding my brand‑new 2025 Toyota Sienna, purchased in February 2025 for nearly $70,000. I am still paying interest on this vehicle, which has failed to perform as promised. From early ownership, the vehicle had issues including multimedia malfunctions and unsafe lane‑change behavior on rough roads. In October 2025, Toyota issued a recall for faulty second‑row seats due to improper welding, creating serious safety concerns. This recall has effectively defeated the purpose of purchasing the vehicle. The Sienna was bought as a seven‑seater, but due to the recall it functions as a four‑seater, making it impractical and unsafe for my family. Daily use now causes: Increased back pain from bending to seat and secure children Children kneeling to access the third row, causing pain and injury risk Risk of dropping a child, slipping in rain/snow/ice, or being struck by passing vehicles when exiting backward Significant difficulty for an elderly parent with back pain Ongoing fear that the recalled seats could fail in an accident and injure occupants I contacted Legends Toyota (Kansas City 66109) and Toyota headquarters. The dealership offered unsuitable replacements, including a smaller vehicle or one recently repaired for other issues. Toyota corporate has provided no meaningful remedy, only loaner vehicles that are not equivalent to what I purchased. I believe this represents serious consumer harm: Toyota collected a large sum for a vehicle that cannot be safely or reasonably used and has failed to resolve a known safety defect while continuing to sell newer models without guarantees. I respectfully request an investigation and a fair remedy, such as a refund or equivalent replacement. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2025 Toyota Sienna verdict →
