Went to walk my dog on Wednesday at around 2:15p noticed glass on the ground and looked and back window was in pieces still attached to the car. I parked my 2025 Nissan Rogue in my attached garage on Thursday night. I went into the garage on Sunday evening and saw that the rear windshield had shattered. The perimeter of the windshield had pieces missing, those were on the garage floor behind the car. At this point the glass was still attached. However, I needed to retrieve an item inside the car. When I gently closed the door, a chunk of shattered glass fell in the cargo area. More fell inside today, still parked in the garage. I bought it in Feb 2025, it has around 5,000 miles. I spoke to the dealership today and explained what occurred. The response, which I will quote, “That just wouldn’t happen.” I reported it to my insurance. I have no other vehicle and need this fixed this week so I’m paying the $500 deductible. There was no prior damage to the windshield. The car had not been driven for 3 days. I did take a video and photos.

The rear windshield shattered while driving. I was driving car in the evening at 30 mph, heard a “pop” and the back window glass cracked in to tiny pieces. Once I pulled over to examine the damage the center of the glass fell out of the window completely. The dealer states it is not a defect, but there are several accounts online of the same thing happening to other Nissans. I see no other damage that makes me think something hit the window and the glass did not spider from one spot out, it just cracked in to tiny pieces. An insurance claim has been made, but no official inspection has been done. No warning signs/lamps were on at the time of the incident.

On Dec 3, 2025,I drove my 2025 Nissan Rogue to my workplace as usual. It is new vehicle with about 2000 miles on it. The vehicle was parked in the employee parking lot, which is an open, uncovered area but not a location where projectiles or falling objects are present. The car remained stationary in this parking area until the incident occurred. When I returned to the vehicle, I closed the front driver-side door normally, using the same routine pressure I use every day. Immediately upon closing the door, the rear liftgate glass suddenly shattered without warning. The entire rear windshield broke into pieces at that moment. Most of the broken glass fell outside the vehicle, and the remaining fragments were found around the liftgate area. There was no evidence of any impact, no prior cracks or chips, and no external object struck the vehicle. The shattering occurred instantaneously and solely due to the act of closing the front door, which should not cause a rear windshield to fail. This appears to be a spontaneous structural failure of the rear glass, with no external cause. It could be a hazard to the people inside the car as well as outside. I reported that to Nissan who said that they were unaware of the issue. However this is widely known on even Google that the glass of 2024 and 2025 Nissan breaks spontaneously

I was using the snow mode because there was a little bit of snow and ice on the road. I had been driving it that morning and did not have a problem until I turned in to my street. I turned right and the steering and brakes and accelerator all locked, leaving me where my car slid across the road and the left drivers side tire ran over the curb. I was not able to correct anything as everything locked. Even though I am okay and was going less than 5 mph while turning. I feel like the whole car's function to lock is unsafe as it left me to hope the curb would stop it. The car had to get towed and is now in the shop with $4,000 of damage to that tire and tire rods which I feel like could not have been prevented considering everything was locked and did not allow me to correct properly.

On November 17, my 2025 Nissan Rogue caught fire after my hour commute to work. During my commute, there were no warning signs on the dash for the entire duration. Got to the office, parked the vehicle, and within a few minutes a coworker called me to let me know the car was up in flames. The fire quickly intensified and got hot enough to melt the hood, and made its way into the interior after it shattered the windshield. The fire started in the engine compartment, near the battery. The insurance company has a fire investigator attempting to determine the cause of the fire. The car had approximately 12,000 miles.

My 2025 nissan rogue rockcreek back windshield randomly exploded and shattered while driving down the road. There was no impact by anything and nothing hit it. There was a cold snap and I was using the defrost and had just turned it off when it shattered. Looked it up and this appears to be happening to many other owners as well. It appears to be some sort of defect. There was an issue with Hondas last year the same thing happening and it had something to do with the defrost elements coming in contact with the rear windshield. I believe this is a similar defect and needs to be fixed. I had to pay out of pocket to fix this because the dealer said replacement windshields were on back order.

Called Nissan Corporate Office to report and told to call dealer and have service check sensor. Appointment Saturday 11/22/2025 at Nissan of Torrance. Results = Unable to disable. Part 988 tested ok at this time. SAFETY HAZARD that can cause painful/harm to body of myself/child/pets/others and creates fear/anxiety when it closes on to head and/or body.

I was driving in Chatham, IL at 40 mph when I heard a loud pop, like a balloon burst, then crinkling noises. The panoramic sunroof had exploded & shattered for no known reason. Numerous tiny shards of glass rained down on the backseat, which could have caused injuries if anyone were sitting in the rear seat. I was not traveling under any trees or building, it was not raining at the time, I did not hit a bump. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior.
