The contact stated that while their wife was coasting into the driveway at approximately 5 MPH, a panel underneath the dashboard, near the steering wheel, detached, blocking the brake pedal, causing the contact's wife to crash into a nearby tree where the vehicle came to a stop. The air bags did not deploy. The driver did not sustain any injury. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,067.

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the tailgate was inoperable. While in the rear of the vehicle, his wife pressed the tailgate button, and the tailgate forcibly closed without warning. The contact sustained an injury to the top of the head that made him fall to the ground, where he lay injured for approximately 20 minutes; medical attention was provided at the clinic and a hospital. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unfamiliar with the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and assigned an inspector from Bosch who was unable to keep the tailgate raised. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

I was driving at an estimated speed of 55mph when I heard what sounded like a gunshot or tire popping inside the vehicle. Next I felt glass hitting my face, head, neck, and hands. I looked up and my sunroof had exploded. This could have been a very bad situation because when the loud boom and immediate feeling of getting hit with glass happened, naturally I tensed up, I swerved into the left lane as a result of my body reacting to the falling debris coming from right side. Thankfully no other cars were around. I only suffered minor injuries due to glass shards in my hand.
