On April 22rd after leaving work and accelerating to pass a vehicle upon lifting my foot from the throttle the vehicle continued to accelerated, turbos engaged and braking caused a service electronic throttle control system message on the dash. After stopping at a red light once the light turned green the vehicle accelerated on its own with no driver input and continued to accelerate until I was able to stop the vehicle. Despite heavy brake pressure the vehicle was still trying to accelerate at a stop. This was the third incident of this type of issue

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2025 Dodge Hornet R/t Eawd verdict →
