While driving in Sport mode on an interstate, during descending downhill, the transmission started down shifting. At that time near the bottom of the hill was standing water on an area. It was suddenly like hitting the brakes & I hydroplaned, but luckily I never touched the brakes. The down shifting at the same time as hitting the water caused the vehicle to loose control of the road. Luckily I regained control by steering and did not wreck. There should be a safety warning on this issue or a correction in the vehicle down shifting

Our 2025 Ford F-150 experienced a complete instrument cluster failure immediately following a manufacturer-initiated over-the-air software update. Component/System Failure: The instrument cluster/display failed completely. The speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, and all critical driving information are inoperable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This creates a serious safety hazard because the driver cannot monitor speed, fuel level, or warning indicators, increasing the risk of unsafe operation. Event Details: After the update installed overnight, the dashboard display was nonfunctional upon startup. The vehicle was operating normally prior to the update, and the failure occurred immediately afterward with no other issues. Inspection/Confirmation: The vehicle was taken to Southwest Ford dealership, where the issue was confirmed. We were told it is an electrical problem requiring repair. The dealership also stated another vehicle there had the same issue following an update. Manufacturer Response: The vehicle has approximately 46,000 miles and is out of warranty. We were quoted about $1,500 for repair. We opened a case with Ford Motor Company (Case #CCH-07666598-Q6Y1R3), but coverage was denied. Prior Warnings: There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. We believe this may indicate a defect in the software update system that could affect other vehicles and pose a broader safety risk. We request investigation and appropriate action.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was in the process of parking the vehicle on the side of the street, the driver released the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended, jolted forward, and hit one unoccupied and parked vehicle, and hit another occupied vehicle stopped at the stop light. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained nerve pain, causing the fingers to become numb, and the driver sustained headaches, back, hips, and shoulder pain. It was unknown whether the other driver sustained injuries. The contact's wife drove to an emergency room after the collision and received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an auto collision repair shop, where it was serviced for the collision damage. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle with a one-pedal driving system and ABS failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the insurance company for assistance. The failure mileage was 13,290.

Three incidents happened with this vehicle. When I put the car on reverse and reversed and stopped, the gear was then put on drive and before the accelerator was stepped on the vehicle propelled itself at a very high speed and I had to emergently step on the brakes before it hit anything. The the front collision warning did not come on and the vehicle did not brake on its own. The same thing happened in our driveway and before we could apply the brakes the vehicle crashed into a tree. This time also the front collision warning did not come on and the vehicle did not brake and went and hit a tree. There was a video that captured this incident and was shown to our Ford dealership and they did not do anything about it. We told them that the vehicle accelerates by itself and is a safety hazard. Since this did not involve any other vehicle or pedestrian the hazard was limited only to ourselves, The insurance was charged more than 10,000 to fix the damages and we also had to pay a deductible of 1000. More importantly we are unaware if this has been reported by others and can cause serious injuries to the driver, occupants of the vehicle and other who may be involved inadvertenly. Any death caused will become the responsibility of the driver even though this was not the mistake of the driver.

I was attempting to leave a parking spot when while maneuvering the vehicle it suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated to a high speed into a tree. There is a police report and security video as the incident took place in a hospital parking lot. The truck is totaled and settled but insurance company not interested in liability. My wife and I were injured. I have no idea or explanation for the sudden acceleration. Nobody is investigating if there was a vehicle malfunction or not. I just want it documented somewhere in case it is happening a lot. The crash was violent and occurred from a near complete stop on a clear day with no distractions.

In 2024 Ford introduced a turn detection in the F-150 (and other Ford vehicles). This feature extends the adaptive cruise control which recognizes speed limit signs and dynamically adjusts the speed control to comply with speed limits. This added Turn Detection, detects curves that have the Yellow highway curve warning signs with the small orange suggested speed limit sign below and automatically slows the vehicle down to at or below the suggested corner speed. The vehicle slowly goes through the curve and then rapidly accelerates out of the curve back the set cruise speed. This causes a huge safety issue especially on highways with higher speed limits where the suggested corner speed is substantially below the general flow of traffic. First Example of safety issue: When driving on a highway with a higher speed limit (especially 60mph or higher) with cruise control set for example to 65mph (speed traffic is naturally flowing at), entering a corner with a suggested speed sign of 55mph causes the vehicle to brake unexpectedly bringing the vehicle from 65mph+ to 52mph rapidly. This unexpected braking cause vehicles following to be caught off guard and in multiple cases almost rear end my truck. Second Example of safety issue: When driving through canyon highways in Colorado where almost every corner has a suggested corner speed, the truck is constantly braking hard into corners and rapidly accelerating out of corners. With the corners so close together in these canyon highways it creates a situation where the truck becomes difficult to steer and keep on the road because of the numerous and rapid speed changes which is very dangerous in a canyon environment. This issue has been problematic since I purchased the truck new, this behavior is acknowledged by Ford when I took it into the dealership to get it addressed and they have indicated that the functionality is working correctly and there is nothing they can do to correct it even though it's a safety issue.

Multiple times the acceleration has stuck and would not release when hitting the brakes. I have to stick my foot under the accelerator and lift the petal to get acceleration to stop. Without physically lifting the petal it would appear this continues indefinitely.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2024 Ford F-150 Super Cab verdict →
