Hi Team, I bought a new car Model Y- [XXX] from Tesla on 27 Dec 2022 and after driving 50 miles itself with in 3 days, I reported so many manufacturing issues to Tesla in my new Car. All the issues that I have reported at that time either all of them are still open or while fixing any of those issues it caused even more issues in my car. As of now I have given my car 5-6 times to them for service so they may fix them but still all those issues either still exists or not fixed well. I am fed up giving my new car back to them for servicing and booking appointments & visiting them. Initially one of their employee gave me a confirmation that he is working with Tesla to buy back my car but then after 30 days I got to understand that Tesla employee is no more working with Tesla and have been fooling around me. I am not sure what kind of customer service, assurance does Tesla provides to its customer and how they working towards resolving those issues. I have paid $68000 to buy this car- and I feel like I am driving a car which got lot of design issues and I feel like I paid for new car and I am driving a 2nd hand car. It so much noise and rattle in my car and that also started to come after they tried to fix issues in my car. So, I am no more interested to get the issues fixed in a factory fitted car rather should have a new car or should get a full refund of the car. I am attaching a PDF of email thread that is going on from last 2-3 months with Tesla service employee and still they just want me to keep coming and giving my car to them. I don't have any more trust on them. Attach PDF shows all the issues and how they are just wanting me to spend time and keep explaining the same issues to them. All the issues details can also be referred from the email attached. Also from the email you may see- I was supposed to get one of issue fixed today but they have pushed again my appointment again after 10 days and not addressing my email. Drivers side mirror glass vibrates while driving causing blurry image, and has done so since vehicle was new. Tesla service center indicated that it is working as designed. However the passenger side mirror doesn’t vibrate at all and the image is perfect. This is an active problem on my vehicle that Tesla cannot repair. Tesla needs to develop a fix for the drivers side mirror. According to various Internet discussion boards, this appears to be a common problem.

I purchased a brand new Tesla Model Y, I noticed that the left (driver) side mirror is shaking violently so that I can only see a blurred image while driving over 60mph. Since I don't do a lot of long distance driving I noticed the problem at our first family trip, which created a great deal of safety concern. I reported the problem to the Tesla Sterling Service Center, at my first visit the technician verified the problem and I was told this is a "common and a known problem" so my mirror was replaced under warranty. But, at my following first long distance trip I noticed the same exact problem persisting. I contacted the same Tesla Sterling Service Center. Following took place: 1. At my validation drive the technician told me he can see the problem 2. After we returned to the service center, the technician noted "there is no problem" and Tesla Sterling service center marked my appointment as "fixed, no problem". 3. I contacted the service center and expressed my surprise, explained what I heard from the technician. 4. They did do further investigation and reported a bent wheel. 5. The service center didn't fix the problem by replacing the wheel, they put the blame on me by saying "I must have gone into a pothole" by creating a good deal of damaging pressure, hence a bent wheel. 6. I asked for pictures of the wheel and the tire, and I am attaching them to this msg. It is clear from these pictures there is no external damage to the tire or the wheel, so it must be the case that Tesla must have put faulty wheels on a brand new car and shipped it to me this way.Tesla Sterling service center didn't replace the bent wheel, even though they kept the car in the service center for 6 days, indicating the wheel is not under warranty. I spoke to friends and family, I heard similar stories. I strongly believe that Tesla ships new cars with faulty wheels and Tesla needs to fix the problem. A bent wheel, which causing a mirror tho shake is a safety problem, a big one.

When driving using basic autopilot (i.e., adaptive cruise control), the windshield wipers will often be automatically activated when not needed. This is damaging the windshield, the wipers, and very distracting. It makes the car much less drivable in these conditions and a safety hazard, as I'm trying to figure out how to turn off the wipers, distracting me from the road. Happens often. Basically, the point is this: It is frequently the case that I as the driver have no control over the windshield wipers.

This vehicle forces the “Automatic Wiper” setting to be on whenever cruise control is engaged. Wipers will come on randomly when there is no rain or when wipers are not necessary. Yesterday it happened over 30 times on a dry day distracting the driver and finally we just had to drive without any cruise control or driver assist functions on, which increases the changes of not maintaining a safe and constant speed along with lane keeping in some circumstances. I live in a rural area with lots of bugs and dust. When wipers actuate unnecessarily it smears bugs all over the window decreasing visibility and eventually scratching the glass from the wipers grinding dust into the windshield. We clean the windshield often but can’t stop during the middle of a trip to clean the windshield whenever a bug hits the sensor. I’ve placed a service ticket in to Tesla and they state the system is functioning as designed and refuse to address this safety issue. Please help. I’m happy to help NHTSA in any way possible. This is an easy software fix for Tesla to simply allow cruise control without automatic wipers, but they refuse. Auto wipers in many cases can be less safe than manual as as soon as they come on the driver is scrambling to fumble with the touchscreen to get them off before they decrease visibility.

Hello, I was taking my car reverse and my car door was open slightly and it hit my garage door, and that was my mistake. My only problem here is, the driver side rear window broke and it broke into MILLIONS OF PIECES and shattered all over inside.the car. Not sure what the technology is, and it should not break into millions of tiny, tiny pieces. It's a brand new car and struggling to clean it because they are no minute. Thanks

The Tesla Model Y Blind Spot warning system does not accurately detect the position of cars in the lanes next to the car. The display shows the car as behind the vehicle while it is actually at the rear quarter panel. There is only an audio warning if the turn signal is activated. The car is in the blind spot yet the system does not warn the driver. I took the car in for an adjustment to cameras and Tesla said they are functioning as designed. Tesla removed the radar sensors that aid in parking at low speeds. This was intended to be replaced with Tesla Vision. Tesla Vision functionality is not yet available. Although a low-speed collision with an object may not result in injury to a person, it is a safety feature that has been removed. The windshield wiper's speed cannot be adjusted or even started on the stock. To change speed or turn on the wipers you must look away from the road, locate the control panel and then select the desired speed. This clearly is a safety hazzard.

When autopilot is engaged the car slows down without warning and there isn't anything in front of the car. We had close calls with cars behind us when the car applies the brakes for no reason. The wipers would come on for no reason and as long as the autopilot was on it couldn't be turn off. So we had to disengage the autopilot and turn off the wipers and drive another 300 miles without autopilot for our safety.

Traversing Blewett Pass at night, in a rain storm. Auto sensing wipers don’t respond to light rain or rain at night. When they are on they don’t adjust to the amount of rain so there is significant water on the windshield for too long. There is no manual option for adjusting the speed of the wipers forcing drivers to navigate a touchscreen in a downpour, in the dark, on a windy mountain pass. It’s terrifying.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2023 Tesla Model Y verdict →
