275/65R20 - Goodyear Wrangler. This is the tire that came with the vehicle. It had approximately 32,000 miles. The tire separated and exploded. We installed the spare but one of the other tires is getting ready to explode. This is not normal wear and tear. This is out of the ordinary that tires on a new vehicle explode. We were on [XXX] when this happened. This tire is a death trap. This is forcing us to replace all 4 tires because we do not know what is going to happen. The dealership (Jerry Seiner) will do NOTHING. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have had an incident where my 2023 gmc 3500 hd was had left me stranded earler this week. i towed the new truck to a certified dealer and i haven't heard anything since then. they mentioned my transmission will need to be fully replaced because valve body issues of solenoid a,e,f, are stuck open and closed codes on the 10 speed transmission upon researching my trucks history it was manufactured in 2022 and pulled out for sale october 2022 and i have seen. 242454441 special recall the same issues i experienced shudder and engine power reduced and no parking gear or driving. i need help and didnt have any warning of anything about this till now since it was showing my vehicle only had a tailgate issue which gmc didnt help me out when i had to pay for my taillight after firewood flew out with the tailgate opening in jan 2023 they said it wasnt a known issue then fixed the tailgate but not the taillight so i need help proving my truck belongs with the 242454441 class of recalls because not only does the transmission the exact same as previous models obviously 1000s of others are getting this issue thank you

August of 2025 [XXX] purchased a certified GMC Sierra 3500. The truck had been traded in May and sat in their service department waiting on a valve body. At this point, we knew this. [XXX] had done research on it, and felt confident in being told the valve body was completely replaced and now working…. Worst mistake we’ve made in a long time. It was not replaced, that was only the beginning of the lies. [XXX] then drove the truck across the country for work, not knowing how much of a hazzard it was. Shortly after arriving there he quickly realized the truck was still having transmission problems. We brushed it off, these things happen. Fast forward when he came home in September/October he took the truck to the Rice Buick GMC service department. Where he was supposed to “wait” on his appointment. Only to call me hours later, they clearly weren’t going to be done that day. We left not knowing that it would be nearly a month until we could drive the truck again. In the midst of that they never offered any help, a rental or anything. When I asked, they offered a tiny small car next door at enterprise. I clearly did not agree, we just spent a lot of money on a heavy duty truck for a reason. It took multiple phone calls to multiple supervisors for them to agree to let him rent a truck. Because you know they might have to spend an extra penny or something (que the eye roll). In that month of having the truck the communication was little to non existent. They never answered the phone, called back, heck most of the time the text messages weren’t even replied to. It once again took me getting a little bit ridiculous for an answer - the truck was “fixed”. When I picked up the truck I spoke to the the service manager, and he of course tried to play me like I was some dumb women who had no idea what I was talking about. He dismissed all of my concerns, acted like having a truck for a month was normal. (More attached in photos) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a 2023 GMC Sierra HD3500 6.6 Duramax. February of 2025 the valve body failed after 23,000 miles. The failure happened when the transmission had an extremely hard shift at 55 mph and then went into 5 gear limp mode. Computer through code P0700 and P0747. The P0747 is the code that tells you the valve body failed. When I took the truck to the dealer, they would not let me take the truck home because of the high risk of the transmission locking up and causing bodily injury, aka crash. Since the valve body was back ordered, I was warmed that it may be a month to get a replacement and install it. I finally got the truck back after 33 days. To add to the frustration, GM would not give me a loaner truck. They would give me a loaner SUV but that did not have what I needed out of a vehicle.

The brake controller on trucks error out while towing. Shuts brakes off. Not a good thing towing 16,000lbs down hill. Almost accident. Destroyed my truck brakes and warped rotors. The controller checks the house battery on trailer and if not in range shuts brakes off. The brake towing screen in truck states all is good but there is this tiny little light at gain adjust location that goes off and you do not have brakes but yet your screen states you do. Bad deal.

My rear wheels randomly lock up and truck violently shakes. It does it randomly in very long trips so GM and every dealer I've brought it to just says that "they cant help me because they cant get it to replicate. Had the same issue with my 2020 and it has an open recall for the exact same thing. This is very dangerous and is going to get someone hurt one day if gm isn't help responsible and fixed their valve body failures for ALL of the 10L1000 L5Ps. Not just 2020-2022....it's ALL OF THEM. 2020-2025!!!

Formal Complaint Against General Motors and Dealership – Ongoing Warranty Issue and Vehicle Inoperability To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally escalate a serious and unresolved issue regarding my vehicle, and the lack of meaningful action taken by both General Motors (GM) and an authorized dealership. My case is not isolated, it mirrors the experience of thousands of other GM customers facing the same known mechanical defect, as widely documented in online forums and communities. On [XXX], I purchased a used 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali with approximately 25,000 miles from a dealership. The vehicle included the original factory warranty, and I also purchased an extended warranty for additional coverage. On [XXX], at approximately 26,000 miles, the truck unexpectedly entered limp mode and the check engine light came on while I was driving with my children. Please note—this truck is equipped with the Allison Transmission, which is marketed as one of the most reliable transmissions available. I immediately took the vehicle to Blade Chevrolet in Mount Vernon WA, the nearest dealership, where it remained for nearly a week before a diagnostic was completed. I was informed by the lead mechanic, Jason Visten, that the issue was a failed valve body solenoid #1—a component he clearly identified as a known and widespread issue within GM’s system. Mr. Visten further stated that GM has not been responsive to the dealership's requests for this part, which is currently on national backorder with no estimated timeline for availability. I was even told this specific part is being built for new vehicle production and are being prioritized over parts needed for warranty repairs, leaving my truck unusable and indefinitely sidelined for up to a year per Blade Chevrolet. I contacted GM Customer Service directly and received the same generic response. Also worth mentioning I almost got rear ended cause of limp mode activation and transmission locked up. No codes pulled. called dealer to share and they knew exactly what was wrong with transmition value body problem. but is my transmission ok? Towed to dealer, no fix in sight. 7th vehicle at dealer with same problem. Others been there for months waiting on same part. Thank God I wasn't towing anything, but now I have to pay for rental and they say they are waiting on parts??

My truck has the shift to park issue and won’t allow me to shut the vehicle ignition off and I cannot shut the vehicle ignition off and it is unsafe and keeps me trapped in my vehicle. I have noticed that it is a common issue and recall on many gmc trucks and I took it to the dealership and they are not wanting to cover it with my two warranties I have on the truck and my vehicle is unsafe. I cannot park the vehicle and shut it off. When I go to put the truck in park on shift column lever, it says shift to park on dash and I turn it on and move shifter to drive and neutral and the vehicle still won’t allow me to shut it off and it shows the same issue.. the issue just began out of no where.

During the failure the transmission failed to properly shift into a higher gear, and the vehicle failed to exceed 67 MPH. The contact stated that later while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission valve body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,800.

Transmission is locking up and making rear wheels violently shake on the highway at high speeds. There is a TSB for the trans valve body on 2020-2022 but it's doing the same for my year and every year with the new 10 speed Allison. It will put your vehicle in power reduce mode as well. I've had a 2020 do it and now my 2023. GM said there is no issue unless they can duplicate it and it does it randomly. So ridiculous for a $90k truck to have issues and then not be able to help.

We were traveling to our cabin in Southern Utah when the Transmission Control Solenoid Valve stuck in an "on" position. We were unable to accelerate more than 55 miles per hour. We stopped in St. George and went to the Chevy dealer for a fix. We were told that they could not get to our vehicle for 2 weeks AND the part is on national back order for 6 weeks. Clearly if it is on national back order, this is a major problem in GM trucks. Our truck is still under warranty and Chevy would not help. We were 130 miles away from home. It was too expensive to tow, no rental cars were available and plane tickets were too expensive. We "limped" the truck home to Las Vegas at 55 mph. Speed limits on [XXX] range anywhere from 65 to 80 mph and there are no back roads. Those speeds are deadly when we could only accelerate to 55. 3 times we were almost rear ended by semi trucks because they came up behind us on a curve at 75 mph. This part failure can be deadly. Fortunately, it was daylight and weather was mostly clear. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and hauling a 2023 Merhow Horse trailer, the TPMS became inoperable and could not read the trailer tire pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure occurred due to the TPMS sensor location and range. The dealer informed the contact that the TMPS sensor was losing the WI-FI connection because it was located behind the license plate, and the TMPS sensor was designed with a 23-ft. range. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

There are 2 issues with this vehicle: #1) The rear window defrost causes an electrical issue that melted the plastic on our rear sliding window. Dealer claims we put something hot against the window but we did not. This appeared after we used the rear defrost. Several other owners have complained about this as well. #2) The vehicle is advertised as having adaptive cruise but it does not have this feature.

Transmission had a hard shift which jolted the truck switching gears to a lower one unexpectedly. It caused my body to jerk back. It happened 3 times. 2 were mild but the 3rd time was extreme. Always while accelerating. Average speed was about 50 mph when this occurred. Dealer has confirmed a failure of the transmission valve body. If the transmission were to be put in park while traveling, it could cause major accident and injuries. After the 3rd time the engine warning light came on and the truck went into limp mode.

We’ve had issues with the electrical system/brake lights when we hook any trailer (horse/boat/utility) to the truck. One issue is that the system shows unconnected and the trailer lights blink or do not work. We’ve brought this in to the dealer 3 times and they have yet to resolve the issue. The other issue of melted plastic on our rear sliding mirror. It just appeared one day, possible after using the rear defog button. We took it to the dealer and they also do not know what is the issue. We found several other blogs where owners have had the same issue. This is a newer vehicle, and we live in Southern California where the temperature is mild. It just appeared one day. We are concerned This is a safety issue with the electrical system melting the plastic and possibly causing a fire. Here is a link to a blog: [XXX] Lastly, this vehicle was advertised as having adaptive cruise and it does not have the capability (chip) to do so. I received a p0747 and p0700 transmission codes on my GMC sierra 3500. It would not engage above 3rd gear and I almost was rear ended by a Semi truck because I was unable to speed up. The vehicle CEL turned on and "Engine power reduced" notification appeared on my cluster. Engine RPMS were at 2800 rpm and my speed limit would not go past ~40mph. CRITICAL PART FAILURE - The master cylinder attached to the brake pad is leaking at the seal where the piston is depressed into the cylinder. It's leaking brake fluid onto the driver brake assembly and some sort of cable. While this is repairable under warranty, this should NEVER ever happen on a vehicle. Arguably, the main part on the most critical system on the car - the brakes. Please investigate whether GM should be responsible for replacing this part on any affected vehicle for the life of the vehicle Thank you for all you do to keep us safe! Have a great day

On March 22, 2023, my wife and I purchased a new 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali from Coast Buick GMC. Before purchasing, we asked the salesman if it had adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, and he said yes and showed us the buttons and explained how they worked. We purchased the truck because it had these features. Four days later, on a trip out of town, we found that the adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist did not work. We looked online and saw similar GM vehicles with the same buttons, showing how to use the systems, but ours didn’t work. During our trip, the salesman texted me and said he needed me to sign a document. I told him that we couldn’t figure out the adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, and Sal responded in writing via text, “OK be my pleasure to show you the adaptive cruise and lane keep assist.” We came into the dealership the next day, on March 28, 2023, with only 251 miles on the truck, and were told it didn’t have these features. The Dealership and GM have refused to make this right. GM’s design of the buttons in the truck for the warning systems closely, if not exactly, match the buttons for adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist options in other GM vehicles, which is very misleading. My brother-in-law has a 2020 model and he still thinks his has adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, but they just don’t work very well, even after I told him it doesn’t. Today, while dropping off my truck at the GM Service Department for repair, the Service Department Representative said a lot of customers were told their GMC HD truck had lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. This is a fraudulent or misleading design, which could result in serious injury or death.
