ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY USING CRUISE CONTROL, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING HAS ENGAGED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. A WARNING FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN VERY SUDDENLY. IT HAPPENS FOR ONLY ABOUT 2 SECONDS THEN GOES BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES.

I was driving on the highway when my car all of a sudden started to beep and told me it was activating the emergency brake. I was driving safely and was not at risk of a collision. The car slowed slightly. Just as soon as the emergency brake warning popped up, it was gone. It was terrifying for the car to slow down while driving 60 MPH on the highway.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Hev verdict →
