[XXX] while driving on [XXX] myself and my family in our 2022 yukon 6 lane highway 65 mph the engine lost power with no warning at all and left us with no power steering ,or brakes. This was in heavy traffic with other vehicles on our right and left side. I was able to put 4 way on and carefully move to the right lane and then barely to the burm. Vehicle would not restart and the sound of it was of rattle and groan. yukon was towed to the nearest dealer and we were told it was a bad engine of either bearings or rods. We were very lucky to not having an accident and harm my family or other persons on the highway. When a new engine was installed it ran for ony 15 minutes and also was defective for the same issue. Vehicle was returned to us on 12/14/24 and we were denied any additional warranty. At this point i have no confidence in the vehicle or General Motors. We took a financial loss when we traded the vehicle because of the major problems thru no fault of ours. The dealer would offer nothing as far as extending the warranty nor would GMC customer service that we filed a formal complaint # [XXX]. I have a 2022 Yukon Denali. On [XXX] the engine failed with approximately 33,000 miles on it. When the engine failed, we were traveling on a highway in New York State at a high rate of speed. Everything shut down but the steering and brakes. This put us in a dangerous situation in which we had to exit the freeway and call for a tow truck. It was still under warranty. They replaced the engine and completed the project on November 5, 2024. They delivered the car from the dealership that repaired it in New Jersey to my home in California on December 9, 2024. The new engine they installed failed on December 10, 2024. I brought it to Winter Chevrolet in Pittsburgh California. As of January 18, 2025 they have still not been able to locate a new engine to install. As of today, it has been 117 days since I’ve been without the use of my car. In my dealings with General motors, it appears that their goal is just to stall until they find an engine to install in my car also we have had no clear explanation or diagnosis of what actually is wrong with the car. My vehicle radiator fan immediately cut on high when I turned on the vehicle. The temperature of the vehicle was normal. I also experienced this when the engine was completely cold. I was assured there was no need to tow the vehicle but I could drive and schedule service with dealer. The software triggered a reduced acceleration condition. This did not allow me to accelerate as needed while navigating an interstate interchange.

Windshield wipers quit working while raining and driving. I was able to get home even though I couldn’t see. I tried turning the car on and off multiple times and testing the windshield wipers but they still didn’t work. After about 10 mins, I restarted the car and the wipers worked again. I took video of the wipers not working while the car was on. They will work fine and then all of the sudden while it is raining they will stop work. This is the second time this has happened in 4 months.

When vehicle is turned on OR during normal driving, audio volume randomly goes to full high mode (all the way up) to a deafening level that makes it difficult to drive. The knob, steering wheel controls and any connected devices (like the phone) do not control the audio. Audio setting is completely unresponsive and will not turn down. It is not possible to drive in this condition. I had to pull over and turn my car off. I turned it on and off several times before the audio did not come on full blast and I could safely drive my car. This is the third time this has happened to me. Two out of 3 times I had a young child in the car.

The servicing dealer identified a faulty injector wiring harness. A national backorder caused a delay in repair. I do not have the part. The dealer retained. I was driving at highway speeds on the interstate and every possible warning light came on the dash. "Service ESC" "Service Traction Control", Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care", "Forward Collision System Unavailable", "Service Emmision System" At this point, I experienced a loss of power and acceleration, and the vehicle would shake violently when I applied the accelerator pedal. There was no indication of any failure prior to the failure.

The dealer claims it was a faulty battery. Said it had a short in it. I have the battery and it can be inspected. I firmly believe it was software related. I was driving and the vehicle completely shut off while driving. I was unable to steer, restart, use the power assisted brakes, or navigate to a safe area. I was unable to restart the vehicle and it had to be towed. The problem was never reproduced and has not occurred again. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer. All possible warning lights came on the dash and display. The radio and Bluetooth still worked.

Windshield wipers quit working. I turned off the rain sensing feature and they did not work even then. This is the second complaint I am filing on this vehicle. The vehicle is at the dealership for the second time to address this issue. Very very unsafe! they will work fine and then all of the sudden while it is raining they will stop working. Vehicle lifters failed early February 2024 while driving. Lifters were replaced and returned to us. One week later the entire engine seized while at 75 mph freeway. Vehicle currently in for repairs for 30+ days and still not fixed. Have had the Yukon in the shop 8 times for electrical, engine, computer failures all previously identified in complaints listed on this website. Family was put at risk on a known chronic engine failure as told by the service department and technician.

Feb 6, 2024BrakesDriver assistance
On January 21, 2024, my family and I went to lunch. As we proceeded to leave to return home when I pressed the brake the braking system, traction system, and forward collision systems all failed simultaneously, causing me to be unable to stop the vehicle which caused it to go through a stop sign while the brakes were fully depressed. Luckily, we were still in a parking lot, traveling only 5 MPH. There was no oncoming traffic as we rolled through the stop sign. The following Error Messages Displayed on the Dash Info Screen Brake System Failure 43 MPH Top Speed, Forward Collision System Unavailable, Service Traction Control, Service Brake Pad Monitor There was no warning from the display prior to trying to stop the vehicle that indicated there were any issues with the brakes. It wasn’t until I depressed the brake that I realized that the braking system was in total failure. After safely allowing the truck to roll to a stop, I turned the engine off, and then back on to see if that would reengage the brakes, but it did not resolve the issue. At that point I called an Uber to take my family home and a tow truck to transport my vehicle to my local dealer, Barker Motor Company. My fear is that this could have happened while we were on the highway traveling faster than 5MPH in traffic, which could have been potentially fatal. After having my vehicle for a week to identify and repair the brake issue, was unable to identify the specific cause of the brake failure to repair and could not insure me that the brakes would not fail again. Instead, the technician replaced the battery in response to a low voltage code that showed in the DTC report. However, he could not provide an answer as to how that could have been connected to the total brake failure.

this yukon is leaking water into the cabin and mold has developed. i do not know when this issue started but i noticed the mold under the passenger rubber mat on 8/26/23. i contacted the local dealer, koon's gmc and they told me that they would charge me to just look at the car even though it is under a bumper to bumper 3 year warranty. the dealer was unable to locate the source of the leak, so nothing was fixed. i have been in touch with a gmc representative and she hasn't any useful information. the development of mold in the car is hazardous to our family and this should be looked into by the government.

My 2022 GMC YUKON DENALI has been at dealership multiple time for defective air ride suspension. The message says "service leveling system" once that show's it's a matter of time the vehicle will slump down. The passenger side air bag keeps busting creating a safety hazard for my family and others on the highway. When problem occurs the vehicle slumps down on front suspension and will bounce out of control when driving on highways and over bridges. It has now been in shop 4 times for the same problem. Dealership has been extremely helpful on trying to fix the problem, but there's definitely something serious going on and GM needs to look into making this right before someone get's hurt driving this vehicle.

This complaint is an addendum to a complaint I filed last week regarding the suspension of my same vehicle. 1. Battery: battery died several times without warning and the cause was never found. Took 4 trips to the dealer to get a new battery placed. Dealer blamed various “modules” each time. I believe that electrical system is faulty because the windshield wiper sprayer also stopped working, and the heads up display flickered at times. Issue 2: “low engine oil pressure warning. Turn vehicle off immediately” warning at 17,800 miles while driving on the highway. Had to immediately pull over and per GMC, the vehicle was not able to be driven and had to be towed to the dealership, leaving me stranded at night in a vehicle that I couldn’t turn on while I waited to be picked up.

The lifters failed about two months from buying it from the dealership. The vehicle was new and only had 13 miles when it was bought. The vehicle had about 600 miles when the lifters failed. As he vehicle was being driving on the highway it started making a clicking noise and the engine would pull and lost power. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and was in service for about 3 weeks for repairs. No one other than the dealership has inspected the vehicle. There was no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure.

We repeatedly received an error saying “Vehicle too high, drive with caution”, at which point, the suspension adjustment controls would not work and I could not lower the vehicle. The service department has had our vehicle for over 2 months now and I am unsure if they were able to duplicate this particular issue, but we did photograph the warning. We have had multiple other electronic issues with this vehicle and feel we were sold an unsafe vehicle.
