Driving to work and the vehicle suddenly turned off in the middle of the road just as I had turned the corner onto another street leaving me in a dangerous spot. There was no warning lights or anything it just shut off and would not start back up. Sister had to wait with vehicle while brother in law drove me to work. Had to have the vehicle towed to Tinney Chevrolet GMC service department and after they completed their service found out the FUEL PUMP MODULE failed. I was told GMC has open recall for 2022 GMC Terrain on this exact issue but for some reason my VIN number doesn't come from the HUB they issued the recall from? I find it suspicious my vehicle had the exact same part fail and left me in a dangerous situation with traffic coming around the corner as well as the inconvenience of family having to come take me to work and sit with my vehicle waiting for the tow truck. I had a bill from the service dept. for this repair of $671.15 and the towing company was $125.00 I would hope GMC would look into the fuel pump module issue for all 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles.

A diagnostic test was ran on my vehicle and the only code that came back was issues with my fuel pump system. A recall for the issue is in place. However, my VIN number is not included. I took the vehicle to the closes GMC dealer and they replaced the fuel pump module. Within 2 weeks, the engine light came back on. I contacted the dealer and was instructed to keep driving the vehicle, the vehicle maybe resetting itself. I did and the engine light went off. Within 2 more weeks, the engine light came back on. I took it to the dealer and now they are telling me I need a new fuel pump. This leads me to believe the problem was not fixed and anything related to the fuel pump should have been examined and/or fixed.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Terrain after experiencing a sudden infotainment system failure that also disabled my backup camera functionality. The infotainment screen in my vehicle suddenly went completely black without warning and without any physical damage to the vehicle. The screen failure caused the backup camera to stop functioning as well, creating a significant safety concern while reversing and parking. The vehicle currently has approximately 50,000 miles. When I contacted the GMC dealership regarding the issue, I was informed that this is a common problem with GMC Terrains. However, because my factory warranty expired only weeks before the failure occurred, GMC declined to provide any financial assistance or goodwill repair coverage despite acknowledging the issue is commonly seen. This defect directly impacts federally required rear visibility safety equipment and creates unnecessary risk to drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and surrounding vehicles. Backup cameras are an essential safety feature, and the sudden failure of the infotainment system removes access to that safety function entirely. I believe this may be a widespread defect involving the infotainment and electrical systems in the 2022 GMC Terrain and request that NHTSA investigate this issue further for potential recall or manufacturer accountability.

With no warning signs, vehicle abruptly stalled while driving. I attempted to restart multiple times. Finally restarted and drove another 100ft and stalled again now with a check engine light. Made it to local shop and code P129F was found for fuel pump module. I see there is a recall on this but not for my particular vin. Recommend expanding recalls.

When driving vehicle, alert sounded lowered speed detection and my engine light came on. My vehicle then lagged power and it smelled like something was burning. Called dealer i bought vehicle from and i drove it in to them. I just bought the vehicle 8 months ago. I was just in to same dealer for a GPS tracker that was in my vehicle unknown to me that the Onstar stopped working and the dealer had stating they missed it in the pre certified inspection and they had to replace the telemax module do to the unknown GPS Tracker. My vehicle is now in for the lowered speed detection problem which my GM app stated it was an air induction system problem. I do not have paper work for the air induction system yet but i have sent photo of what my GM app produced.

The car went into limp mode while I was on the highway. The car said reducing engine power and then I couldn't go the speed limit I had to drive well under the speed limit and pull off the road as soon as possible. I brought it home and water came pouring out the intercooler after looking online. I found out this is a known issue for this vehicle.

My wife was driving down the road and all of a sudden the car just shut off and wouldn’t start back up. She called me and I went to her and tried to get the started with no progress so I called a tow truck to come pick it up and come to the mechanic shop to have it fixed. They run a diagnostic test on it and it was the fuel module. Called the gmc in my town and the said it was not covered under warranty or there wasn’t a recall on it either. W needed my car fixed so I called around to find a fuel module and finally found one in north Myrtle Beach. I had to go and pick it up around 75 miles from where I live and bought it back to the mechanic. He put in on and that fixed the problem. A lot of the 22 Terrian’s has a recall but mine doesn’t. I would like to know why mine doesn’t and it only has 53,000 miles and mine falls in the same category as all the others. I think I should be reimbursed having to pay to have mine repaired.

The car was at a red light so it automatically stopped. when the lights turned green, I removed my foot from the break and the car would not move. I had to call OnStar for roadside assistance and they called the police to make sure I was safe and that traffic flowed safely. My car was towed to the dealership after they tried to start the car by the key and my jumper cables. The car would not start. The dealership is unable to start the car as well and they are saying that the issue with the fuel pump is not under the most recent recall for my VIN number. I was able to locate the recall for the same exact issue that I’m having under my VIN number on the GMC website. I have filed a report with the GMC manufacturer to try and get this issue fixed. I have brought this car in multiple times to the dealership I purchased from and an additional dealership to show them the issues that I have been having with this car starting and stopping, I could have been ran over by a public transportation bus today.

I HAVE THIS 2022 GMC TERRAIN WITH 19,000. MILES ON IT. IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 2 MONTHS AND NOT YEARS OR MILES. ON 6-23-23 THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO NAPELTON GMC FOR A RECALLED FUEL PUMP FLOW MODULE. IT WAS FIXED AND THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. HOW EVER NOW 9-2-2025 WITH 19,000 MILES I AM EXPERICING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEAL AND DIAGNOSED WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS TIME THEY ARE NOT COVERING IT BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED. HOWEVER I FEEL THAT WITH ONLY GOING 13,000 MILES SINCE REPAIRED THEY SHOULD BE COVERING IT AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME THE REPAIR COST IS "TO LITTLE" TO OFFER ANYTHING. THE COST WITH THE TOW IS AROUND $762.00 . i WAS TOLD BY GM "NOT THE DEALSHIP" THAT IF I SUBMIT A TICKET SHOWING THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THEY COULD LOOK AT OTHER COMPNESATION OPTIONS. PLEASE HELP. I ONLY AM ARGUING BECUASE THIS WAS A RECALLED ITEM THAT HASNT LASTED VERY LONG.

My GMC Terrain started, but then stalled as I tried to pull away from the curb & drive. When I tried to restart it, it turned over but would not start. My AAA Autoclub servicemember used his "check engine" interface machine to determine that the fuel pump module was not communicating with the car, though there was half a tank of gas. This issue has been a well published problem with this year, make & model online, but GMC is not including my VIN# in the recall. I had the car towed to my mechanic & his diagnostic tests revealed the same problem - fuel system module. I would have been in danger if there had been any traffic on my residential street. If the car had driven a few blocks & then stalled, I would have been on a busy boulevard. There were no warning signs prior to the stall. There is a "check engine" icon lit up now because it is going to require service. My mechanic can't fix it, so I need to arrange another tow to get it to a dealership service department. Thank you

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story.
