Was driving down the highway and was approaching a red light. As I was slowing down my transmission down shifted hard and my rear wheels briefly locked up and my truck went in to reduced power Took to dealership only to find out the valve body failed and my truck wasn't covered

I am receiving a "Shift to Park" warning intermittently when parking my truck. The truck is in park, but the transmission does not recognize this and flashes the warning on the dash and chimes. While this is happening, I cannot lock the vehicle, and the battery is being drained. I have read that this is a known issue with other GMC models as well. I just was given a $1074 bill to replace the transmission control with park sensor.

The vehicle will be in the park position and a warning on the dash will say shift to park not allowing you to shut off the vehicle. Jiggling the shifter sometimes works but often have to restart the vehicle numerous times to get the error message to not appear and be able to proceed with shutting off the vehicle

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 Hd verdict →
