The contact’s wife leases a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed in a snowstorm, the windshield wipers ceased to work and the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. The contact’s wife waited 6 hours for towing assistance to arrive and was pulled out of the ditch. There was no injury sustained. The contact did not know whether a police report was filed. The contact’s wife was able to drive away from the scene. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the windshield wiper motor had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) as the VIN was not included. The failure milage was 4,000.
