I started the truck. I heard a loud pop over the sound system. This was followed by a loud crackling noise over the speakers. The sound continued after the sound system was turned off. The speakers smell like they were burning.

Three times now a VERY loud static noise comes through the speakers when I start the truck. It sounds like a blown amplifier. It only lasts for a few seconds, but it is loud enough that my ears are still ringing. It would cause a wreck if it happens when driving. I am taking into Ford dealer on Monday, but they say they have never heard of the issue.

On start, a loud "pop" was heard and the audio system went into full volume static and other sounds. Radio could not control it, on/off or volume, nothing would stop it. sound was deafening and lasted as long as the ignition was on. turned off ignition, yet it kept on regardelss of what I did with any interior controls. Sound was deafening and as I came to a stoplight, I could not hear the siren of an ambulance approaching from the left. I could not hear the siren due to the noise in the cabin! No way to stop the noise except after shutting down the ignition and leaving it alone for 15minutes........and it turned itself on again even after I had left the vehicle!

The audio system is malfunctioning - a loud audible cracking noise occurs when audio sources are selected or connected/disconnected from the vehicle's sound system. During the malfunction, the volume control knob was unresponsive, and there was no varying difference in sound when attempting to lower the volume. The sound was so loud that it caused my ears to ring and my body to involuntarily flinch from the shock of the sudden and sharp noise coming from the speakers. My ears continued to ring for several minutes following the incident. This could pose a safety risk to occupants as it may lead to long term hearing damage or loss. I have scheduled an appointment with my Ford service department to have the issue addressed one week from the initial occurrence. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

The all digital gauge cluster just goes out while driving leaving the driver with no instrumentation. The ford dealer states ford knows about it with a service bulletin. The vehicle is not able to be driven with iut knowing how fast you are going if you even your fuel level.

Truck speakers randomly emit excessively LOUD pops and static. Took in truck for service and they “couldn’t replicate.” This was at a Ford dealer in Mew York. Gave truck back. It has done it everyday since and it’s so loud it’s almost like I’m in a concert. It lasts 5-10 seconds. It causes disaffections when driving as well. First time it happened I thought something broke a window. I saw many complaints posted about this through NHTSA and found online via [XXX] that Ford issued a bulletin for this fix but my service department at the local dealership didn’t bother to fix it. This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the truck in late 2022. This was my first attempt to have it fixed. 2022 Ford F-150 tremor owner with B&O Unleashed sound system. Yesterday 8/22/2023 when starting my truck I experienced a loud big boom followed by loud static and popping sounds which was varying in pinch and level for all speakers. I could not turn off the audio or turn down the audio. I turned off the truck and it continued to make the same noises for some time before stopping on its own. I had to drive for over 30 minutes with this going on in order to get home. I eventually got back into the truck later on and started the truck with the issue resolved and back to normal operations for now. I have also had multiple issues since the purchase of the truck in July 2022 of when attempting to roll up my automatic windows and they keep reopening on there own. Sometimes it takes two or three tries to keep the window up.

Advancing forward in traffic to a stop sign on a downward slope in tow/haul mode. Stopped at the intersection and began to accelerate into a left hand turn. Initial acceleration was fine and then the rear tires locked up and squealed on the asphalt. Truck came to a stop and when I looked down the screen said the parking brake was on. I never activated the parking brake. Seemed to disengage on its own after a few seconds. Highly dangerous situation.

The following occurred in a 2022 Ford F150 Raptor with less than 500 miles. As soon as I put the car in drive and turned out of the parking lot, there was a huge boom that sounded like an explosion. I assumed that something had burst or all of my glass was shattered and the sound of loud crackling noises could be heard coming from the speakers. After the explosion-like sound, I was unable to hear for some time and I nearly went deaf. Regardless of whether I turned the audio on or off, the loud crackling noise would not go away. without delay The service manager afterwards contacted me and told me that the sound system needed to be reconfigured after I drove to the dealer to demonstrate the problem.

Started vehicle and a horrific static popping sound started coming thru the speakers. It lasted about 10 seconds and I immediately turned vehicle off as I thought it was going to explode or burn. I restarted it again and it made the same sound again for about 5 seconds and it then stopped. 3rd time I started the truck it did not make the noise. When making the noise I couldn’t adjust the volume on radio or make a phone call

Upon entering the Ford f150 vehicle and turning it on there was loud sonic boom noise through the speakers and then ear piercing static. It could not be turned down by the radio controls. Radio was turned off but static still wouldn’t stop. Vehicle was turned off and static still was still going. I waited 15 minutes with the vehicle off and it finally quit. Truck started no problem and static gone. I have read of numerous reports about this same thing with the B&O Unleashed radio system which I have. I have suffered some hearing loss and ringing in my ears even after 2 days. If this had happened on the highway or in traffic it would probably have caused a wreck.

My radio/stereo/speakers introduced an extremely loud "pop" noise, or "banging" noise. It was reminiscent to my time overseas in the military and gunfire. It was extremely startling and hurtful to all three passengers in my vehicle, including myself, my spouse, and my 2-year-old child. This is a recurring issue as of now, and many others are complaining about the same issue happening to them.

I have had two instances where a loud pop occurs when playing the stereo, and then an even louder static noise begins. The static noise does not stop. The first time, I took the truck to the dealership and they had to disconnect the battery. Approximately 3 months later, the same issue occurred, but now it was accompanied by a burning smell. After the first incident, the dealer repaired (not replaced) the module. But, again, the static noise returned two months later. I now have constant ringing in both ears, which may indicate permanent hearing loss.

while driving, with the audio system off, suddenly I heard a loud explosion. next I heard what sounded like class breaking. I thought i was involved in an accident and slammed on my brakes. Realizing I was ok, the next thought that came to mind was that someone shot at me. The crackling sounds ( like glass breaking did not stop). i drive directly to a ford dealership. they heard and acknowledged the cracking sound. i turned off the truck and the sound CONTINUED.

Loud pop and then extremely loud static coming through all speakers, pulled over turned truck off and noise continued. Unable to drive because noise was so loud. Started truck again and turned off multiple times, turned radio on and off multiple times and noise continued. With truck off doors closed and locked noise continued. After about 15 min it stopped and worked normal. I called dealer and they said they don’t have a fix and if it is currently working normal there’s nothing they can do.

On 2 seperate occasions the audio system has malfunctioned. The truck has the B and O "Unleashed" sound system. The first time was December 2022. I started the vehicle and the sound system blasted at full volume and scared the heck out of me. The system would not respond in any way, blank display on the dash. The second time was May 2023. I started the truck and there was a loud "explosion" sound and the display was again totally blank and not responding. Drove to the dealership and was told they had no idea what was wrong. Very dangerous situation that is not safe. Truck has had 2 recalls and only has less than 2000 miles. Purchased new at Harold Ford 6/29/22. Assembled at Dearborn Truck. Currently waiting on axle parts at dealership. LEMON would be being kind.

Jun 6, 2023Electrical systemBrakesDriver assistance

Brakes completely failed without warning or any indication that something was wrong. Lost brakes completely, and dash lit up saying ABS Fault, service advanced traction, hill start assist unavailable, pre Collison assist not available. Luckily i was able to slow down by downshifting in M and throwing it into park before it even came to a stop. Had it towed to dealer and repaired. Dealer failed to give me documentation of what was replaced and/or repaired. Luckily I just exited the highway. I could have been seriously hurt or killed. As well as someone else could obviously had been killed or hurt. I live in Colorado and 75% of my driving is down steep mountain grades. This could have ended catastrophically.

On multiple occassions the speaker system has had a deafening blast of static noise that actually made my ears hurt. luckily my daughter wasn't in the car on either occassion but the sound was so loud that I actually had ringing in my ears after I figured out how to make it stop. I told ford about it but they said there's no fix and they don't know when one will be coming out. I have dash cam video of both incidents that I uploaded to youtube: first incident https://youtu.be/rtBawsLdca0 2nd incident - short pops of static at :25 and 1:15 in the video https://youtu.be/rWSP5E-XXCM

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 Ford F-150 Supercab Diesel verdict →
