Adaptive cruise control applies brakes at varied levels from light to full stop when passing vehicles on the left in an open highway setting when no vehicle is present ahead. Speed range is approx 65-75mph. Other conditions are Interstate highway open road, sunny to partly cloudy, and problem occurs when passing and a longer vehicle (CL8 or other vehicle with trailer is present on the right), no other unusual or notable conditions can be remembered at this time. Other vehicles following in trail were often surprised and required immediate throttle engagement to prevent collision from following vehicles. Not all unexpected brake events produced a warning, however it appears that full brake events a pre-collision warning did appear. 3 attempts were made but dealer was not able (authorized by OEM) to perform extended drive cycles. On 4th attempt claim was stored code was found and multiple components were replaced. However, problem reoccurred in a subsequent highway trip, and there was a clear degradation of the LKA accuracy, as the LKA would no longer keep lane center and would not correct of provide departure warning until on top of after crossing lane line markings. Additionally "hands on wheel" warning would appear even though hands were on the steering wheel at the time. The vehicle is now at the dealer for the 5th attempt at diagnosis and repair. The dealer and OEM claim that installing a data logger is not possible, which I find difficult to agree with as there are clear parameters to measure and tripper a recorded event.

This vehicle has random bursts and loss of power due to the transmission not shifting properly. There is a noise coming from the passenger front that may be tied to transmission failure. Pre collision assist isn’t working due to ECM problem.

There are several issues with the truck, the worst being misfire issues while driving at highway speeds. Several times now I have been on the interstate at speeds and the truck will all of a sudden lose speed and shutter. The engine light will blink, and this will happen for a couple miles and then it goes back to normal. If you pull the codes on the truck, you get P0300, P0301, and P0305. This is in the dealership again now. The previous two times the dealership has done nothing because they can not duplicate the issue, but they do pull the codes.

I was driving around 35-40mph, slowing down, heading to a right hand turn lane. No vehicles in front of me. As I crossed over my lane into the turn lane my e-brake automatically came on and my pre collision braking light came on. No warning, nothing caused by me, and I have no clue how it happened. I had to physically pull the e-brake lever to release the brakes on a major road.

I am constantly receiving error messages that pop up while driving telling me that there is a headlight system malfunction. I have also had adaptive cruise control lane. Keep assist and associated features.Uh pop up as error warnings. My headlights are cornering headlights while driving. They have failed by moving to the downward and inward position and stayed in that position, significantly reducing my visibility. My alarm constantly goes off for no reason. While driving, the speaker system makes a very loud noise. That almost sounds like a gunshot.Hitting the windshield, which is extremely frightening and will cause you to jerk in response. I have taken this back to the dealership five times trying to get this diagnosed, and it still cannot be fixed. I have asked that this be considered a lemon. Due to covid, my diagnostic time was pushed back beyond the one year mark, so I was not able to get the first diagnosis until after mao one year of owning the vehicle.

Three warnings light up: Antilock Brake Fault, Hill Start Assist Warning, and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. Brakes failed. I was fortunate that no one was in front of me but the truck barely stopped. Took full pedal to the floor to force lockup. I am filing the matter as it does appear to be a frequently occurring concern in 2021 and 2022 models based on what I have read to date.

After a recurring dashboard alert to tell me that front sensors and rear braking were offline, I took the vehicle for warranty repair. The Ford dealer indicated that the repair would cost $519, because it was a wiring failure and not a failure in a part. According to the service advisor, the failure is a common failure that occurs at a tee where the wiring branches to a sensor just behind the rear bumper. He said that it is not covered by Ford's "bumper to bumper" warranty because it's a wiring failure and not a part failure (although the subject wiring harness does carry a Ford part number). Since my 2022 truck had only about 14,000 miles and had been lightly used (no off-road use), I balked at the notion that it should not be Ford's responsibility to replace the wiring harness. I paid only the diagnosis fee ($155) and took the truck home. On investigation, I found the harness and sensor wire he described to be easily accessible and easily damaged by any sort of road debris. I also found the wiring from the harness to the sensor to be unsupported, leading me to conclude that resonance due to normal road vibrations could have led to metal fatigue in the wire. It's my view that Ford's conclusion that this is normal wear and tear on a truck is ludicrous. I expressed this view in a letter to Ford's Consumer Relationship Center, but the response was simply to back the dealer's determination. They did provide the option to seek a second dealer opinion, but my concern is more about the long-term vulnerability as I am capable of repairing or replacing the harness myself. It's my conclusion that the joint should be shielded from road hazards and the wires to the sensors should be separately supported to reduce stress on the joint in the harness. My belief that this is a matter for NHTSB is based on the fact that the harness failure compromises rear emergency braking.

While coasting to an upcoming stop downhill, on slightly graded slope, speed within 15mph or less, with brake slightly applied; the Automatic Parking Brake engaged on its own, subsequently resulting in the transmission shifting of drive modes to park automatically. The vehicle came to an instant, unexpected stop, while still maintaining a speed around 5mph on its own. The vehicle locked up mid-line-of-traffic, leaving the potential of a rear-end collision by following vehicle. No known damage to transmission or powertrain resulted. Adverse weather/road conditions did not play a factor at the time of incident. Incident has occurred multiple times prior, during similar environment & circumstance.

When adaptive cruise control is set, the vehicle thinks there is a crash ahead and applies the brakes when in reality nothing is in front of the vehicle . This causes a very dangerous situation for vehicles behind the truck when it applies emergency braking.

Brakes completely failed without warning or any indication that something was wrong. Lost brakes completely, and dash lit up saying ABS Fault, service advanced traction, hill start assist unavailable, pre Collison assist not available. Luckily i was able to slow down by downshifting in M and throwing it into park before it even came to a stop. Had it towed to dealer and repaired. Dealer failed to give me documentation of what was replaced and/or repaired. Luckily I just exited the highway. I could have been seriously hurt or killed. As well as someone else could obviously had been killed or hurt. I live in Colorado and 75% of my driving is down steep mountain grades. This could have ended catastrophically.

Issue #1. Forward collision sensors not working warnings keep appearing and flashing on dash. Vehicle has 12000 miles. 2. Hood popped open at speed of 90 MPH without a warning or manual operation of lever. Hood was not opened during a 500 Mile trip so operator error is ruled out. The safety latch was able to secured the hood temporarily. It was communicated to Ford Motor Co Under Incident # CAS#42214521. Phone number : 1-866 637 3788 X 79752

On Dec 27, 2022 I was involved in a collision where my F150 would not come to a complete stop at an intersection /red light. I approached the vehicles at the light breaking to slow down but the truck drive gear did not disengage, and I struck the vehicle in front of me at about 2-3mph and then proceeded to push the vehicle into the car in front of them all while I was fully applying the break (foot of the gas pedal). It was not until I put the truck in neutral and turned it off that it stopped pushing the other vehicles. I did not receive any warnings or notification lights on my truck prior or during the impact/pushing. It as if the F150 didn't see the vehicle in front of it and the auto drive system engaged as if it had a mind of its own. I have spoken to Ford Corp regarding the issue and they have advised me to have the vehicle inspected but my local Ford dealers are refusing to run a diagnosis on the vehicle prior to having it repaired thus causing an impasse all while I'm very nervous driving this truck out of fear of it happening again. 01/09/2023-Manufacturer Safety recall issued NHTSA #22V842 Recall #22S71 WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT Status: Remedy Available

I was leaving the neighborhood and all of the sudden the forward collision warning went off for no reason, luckily the vehicle did not apply automatic brakes. I'm afraid if I was driving on the highway and the system went off for no apparent reason it could apply brakes and cause a crash. The electrical system is randomly setting off all kinds of error messages including random alarms in the middle of the night. The truck is less than a year old with only about 10K miles...the major concern is the forward collision warning that could potentially cause a crash.

Car was in the driveway and refused to start. Back light flashed and the battery died. I stated to the dealership that the adaptive cruise was not working. The dealership stated that it was working and that they test drove it and it was working. I brought it in a second time and stated the adaptive cruise was not working. Again the dealership stated that it was working. Third time I complained and they admitted that the factory had not installed adaptive cruise and that the vehicle did not have the sensors for the Pre-collision Assist w/AEB. They would wait for the parts and install the necessary hardware. Prior to delivery my vehicle had a Factory Hold on it . Ford did not warn me that safety features I had paid for were not installed. Ford had their dealer deny that my vehicle was missing these safety features. These missing safety features and Ford"s denial put myself and others at risk. These safety features was why I bought a new truck in the first place. Ford and its dealers did not act in a responsible or ethical manner with complete disregard for safety.
