While driving on the highway, my 2022 Ford Expedition suddenly lost acceleration. The gas pedal stopped responding completely and the vehicle gradually lost power until it shut off. It had to be towed and the battery was fully drained afterward. It was later diagnosed as a fuel pump failure. This was a sudden loss of propulsion in traffic and created a serious safety concern. Police pulled over and were able to get me towed to the nearest safe stop as my car stopped on a bridge with no shoulder.

Transmission randomly hard down shifts erratically. It feels like i lose control of the vehicle. Shifting is so violent, it's like I were driving over a man hole with a missing cover. These are under normal operating conditions. Not towing, not hard braking. Not extreme cold or hot climate. There are no warning laps on the dash board. This issue has been reviewed at 2 different FORD dealer / repair shops. The first location changed the transmission fluid. The second one changed the transmission torque converter. Documentation can be provided. There is no computer data that indicated an issue when hooked up to the Ford mechanic computer diagnostic tool. The problem continues to happen after repair. The vehicle is still under FORD warranty. 2 Ford mechanics have test driven the vehicle after repair. They recognize the problem, and provide no remedy other than what has already been done. This vehicle feels unsafe to drive.

I am submitting a formal consumer complaint regarding a persistent brake issue—specifically a loud squeal when coming to a stop in a 2022 Ford Expedition Max Limited purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle through Ford’s Blue Advantage Program. At the time of sale, I was assured the vehicle met certification standards, had no unresolved safety concerns, and that any recalls had been addressed. However, I later learned that Safety Recall 25S47 (NHTSA Campaign 25V-314) had been issued in May 2025—one month prior to purchase—for a front brake line defect that may cause brake fluid leaks, reduced braking performance, and increased crash risk. Despite this, the vehicle was certified and sold with representation that the recall showed “no concern.” Since purchase, the vehicle has exhibited constant brake squealing, worsening stopping performance, and reduced responsiveness. The issue occurs at every stop and persists despite replacement of front and rear brake pads and rotors. Timeline: • Apr 2024 – Prior brake-related service • May 9, 2025 – Recall issued • June 4, 2025 – Brake service prior to sale • June 14, 2025 – Purchased as certified • Within 1 week – Issue reported • June 25, 2025 – Inspection found “no concern” • July 2025 – Pads/rotors replaced • Within 2–3 months – Issue returned • Ongoing – Condition deemed “within guidelines” Multiple attempts to resolve this through the dealer, a consumer complaint organization, a state regulatory complaint, and a manufacturer repair case have not resulted in a fix. This raises concern that a vehicle with a known safety-related defect was certified and sold without proper resolution. I request investigation into whether certification standards were properly followed and whether consumer protection requirements were violated. I am seeking a permanent manufacturer-backed repair, repurchase, or other appropriate relief.

My vehicle shutters like it’s is going to die/shit off. When will this issue be resolved with the fuel pump system failure? I will be doing some research with the BBB to find out if this will be an actionable lawsuit. Most consumers who own these types of SUVs are mothers! This needs to be resolved asap!

Receiving Front Camera Malfunction Service required warning. Also receiving pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency break system warnings. Other systems likely disabled. Found that there was a TSB issued for the same year but on the F-150. DTC's C1001:31, U3000:89, U3000:49. This issue is likely caused by faulty cable connections where condensation has caused corrosion making the system inoperable thus creating a major safety issue for owners. I took the Expedition to SawGrass Ford in Sunrise FL and they confirmed that the issue was due to the electronics/cables. The camera itself was not dirty or blocked. They charged me $250 for a diagnostic and then wanted to charge me $2500+. For the safety and security of all owners please investigate and hold FORD accountable for this.

Ford has a recall on the low pressure fuel pump but no fix yet. My fuel pump failed and I am being charged to fix it. But that also puts me back on the road with an unsafe vehicle. They will not provide me a rental until the recall has a solution or fix.

Transmission has known issue by Ford Motor Company concerning defective components leading to wear and improper function causing potential safety issues with acceleration and deceleration. My vehicle, I purchased used with 32k miles in April of 2025. I started to have issues with shifting approximately 6 months ago when it would shift erratically when cold and when vehicle was not warmed up. On several occasions the vehicle, when shifted into reverse to back out of a parking space, the vehicle hesitates and drops harshly into reverse. This has occurred at least 4 times within the last 3 months. The next issue is when the vehicle is initially started up in the morning and placed into gear to leave my driveway I pull out and it appears to be operating fine. When the transmission goes to upshift it will shift on the gauge screen indicating it is in 3rd gear but either I have no gear and the engine will rev without acceleration, or as in the last circumstance, it will shift to 3rd, jump to 8th gear, and have no accelerator input for approximately 5-10 seconds. The shift indicator shows the transmission then shifts from 8th, to 5th, then down to 3rd and drops harshly into gear and proceeds operation as normal. The transmission will not shift as smoothly as it does when it is warm for approximately 3-5 miles. This type of operation has been identified as being contributed to the interior components of the 10R80 transmission. In particular, the CDF clutch is identified in the TSB for this issue 23-2250. I have had my vehicle at the Ford dealer on 2 occasions for this issue and they have not been able to replicate the issue. I was advised the 2nd time that the service technician stated the transmission was low 2 quarts of fluid and they were unable to get the transmission to replicate the harsh shifting condition. This vehicle was serviced less than 2 months prior and no indication of low fluid was noted in the transmission at the time of service.

While transmission is cold. You can start to back up into the street and will come to a complete stop half in the road and half out. Like as if it were in neutral. Then I violently slams back into reverse. From there once it in drive. It will skip gear and slam into a lower gear. The car will also come to a complete stop like in reversing when in drive from a cold starting position.

The vehicle stalls, when stopped in traffic. In order to restart the vehicle, the transmission must be placed in the “park” position. This happens intermittently after the vehicle has been driven for a longer distance. I have read that this is related to the fuel injection system getting overheated which causes the fuel supply to drop and basically starves the system of the necessary fuel for combustion. Ford does not have a solution for this, however, the problem continues and creates a safety hazard especially during the darker hours.

I have a 2022 Ford Expedition that Ford states some of these are under recall for the backup camera but not mine. On 10/28/25, my backup camera went out with a blank blue sometimes black screen. I took it to Marler Ford where they gave me an estimate of $1000 to replace the camera. I received an oil change on the same day. When I got home I noticed from the diagnostics that my camera was loose in its setting and was able to easily remove it. I am assuming this occurred while at the dealership and will address this with them. While I contemplated what to do, I noticed a change 1 week ago when i backed up even though the camera was removed. It showed the back up lines and no longer the blank screen. I placed the camera back in and now it is working but is still loose so I removed it so it doesn’t fall out. I called Ford. My case number is CXH-XXX. In summary, Ford is still not owning up to the recalls that are a major safety issue in these vehicles and need to be held accountable. I am not confident that this issue will not return if the issue is not fixed. It has caused me stress in not allowing me to be as confident in reverse. It has not resulted in a accident at this time. When the vehicle starts, two error messages appear. The first one is "Pre-Collission Assist not available" and the second one is "Front camera fault - Service required". Due to these errors, I have no collission assist and cruise control does not work and cannot be enabled. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times (Since the summer) to be repaired and they have reloaded the software each time. This has not fixed the problem and they refuse to replace any hardware. They have stated that it is a software issue and that a fix will be forthcoming but they have no fix or timeframe as to when it will be fixed.

When slowing down to turn into a parking lot my car suddenly experienced sudden “phantom braking”. I was going slowly and I wasn’t braking. My car only has automatic braking when cruise control is on. Cruise wasn’t on. The car suddenly braked hard and chimed twice. My car has a collision warning system but that doesn’t chime like this. I didn’t see any dash warning lights, it looked normal by the time I looked for warning lights. I coasted into the parking lot because I wasn’t even sure if the engine was running. I couldn’t find anything wrong and everything has seemed normal since then. When it braked, I had my foot above the brake pedal because I was getting ready to brake further as I turned. When the phantom braking happened I felt the pedal move. It suddenly depressed then and sprung back up. I believe I was going less than 20mph.
