After turning the car on, engaging reverse, and then retuning back to park (driver stepped out of vehicle once in park) the vehicle reversed 60 feet on its on through a parking lot with 2 children inside of the car (disengaged from park on its own while vehicle was running). The vehicle was ultimately stopped by a tree with damage to the tailgate and rear. The gear shift selector remained in park for the entire incident. A claim was filed with GM and the Traverse was initially labeled as a “intermittent failure” in my May 2026 claim interview. Post GM inspection, the vehicle is now deemed “operational” (no repairs from GM) and being returned to my family as of July 2026.

Car is having a shift to park error message. I am unable to leave the car in parked position without restarting the vechicle several times and moving shifter to Park, Nuetral and Reverse Several times. There shows no recalls on my car. However this has to be a saftey issue covered under warranty. I transport my children in this car and dont want any incidents with the car rolling away hurting us or others. I need help resolving this issue.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving in first gear, the vehicle would independently enter limp mode as the check engine light would appear on the instrument panel. Due to the vehicle failing to accelerate above first gear, the contact would be forced to restart the vehicle as the vehicle would then resume normal operation. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer nine times due to the failure. The dealer had failed to duplicate the failure; however, when using a code reader, a message for the transmission control module would appear. Despite the dealer replacing both the transmission control module and wire harness attached to the module, the failure had persisted. The dealer had requested a traveling engineer to inspect the vehicle where unknown repairs were performed on the vehicle. The vehicle did appear to be repaired after the initial repair; however, the failure recently returned. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000

I noticed that the transmission has a shutter really bad before I crossed over a hundred thousand miles it is gotten so bad that you cannot drive the vehicle without it shuttering it almost every gear. Took it to the dealership dealership said it had too many miles and all the warranties in all that couldn't help us they want $10,000 to replace it.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while attempting to turn off the vehicle, the alarm sounded and the message, "Shift to Park," was displayed even though the gear shifter was in park. The contact shifted from park into several driving positions before the vehicle recognized that the transmission was in park, and the vehicle was turned off. The failure had become a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the gear shifter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

Shift to Park. Unable to turn the car off even though the car is in park. This was previously fixed in 10/24 and started up in 10/25 a few days after the 1yr warranty. I reached out to the dealership that repaired it in 2024 and was told that I would have to pay for the service as the part is not covered under the powertrain warranty. I reached out to GM for assistance and that was a lost cause. I was told that the repairs will only last 1 to 2 yrs, so this appears that it will be a temporary fix. My car has about 55000 miles on it. To know that I may possibly have to continue to get this fixed, I feel like this should be considered a lemon and they should refund me for the cost of the vehicle or give me another car. GM knows that the Shift to Park is an ongoing issue with this year, make, model and have failed to issue a recall.

I am reporting a dangerous failure of the fuel supply control module in my vehicle, which caused the engine to stall and cut off during acceleration while driving in heavy, 45-60 mph traffic. While I was able to have the issue diagnosed and repaired by Newman’s Auto—with an invoice available—I believe this 44,000-mile vehicle experienced a premature failure. Given that this component is currently recalled on similar Chevrolet SUVs and trucks, I believe this model should be included in the recall. I can be reached at [XXX] or [XXX] for further information. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Puttering can be heard. Manifold has been replaced already. Reverberation through steering wheel and pedal can be felt when idling. Car has shuddered when driving 40+ in the past but dealership downplayed any possible issues. There is an issue with something in this vehicle whether it's the torque converter or another part up or downstream.

The vehicle started throwing an error stating 'shift to park' after putting the vehicle in park. When attempting to turn the vehicle off it will not allow it, just keeping up the shift to park message on the dash. I am then unable to lock the doors. This could kill my battery as the engine eventually turns off but the lights stay on. Furthermore, leaving the vehicle unlocked and on for some time puts it at risk of being stolen. It does not happen every time I turn the vehicle off. I have tried shifting it back and forth between drive and park and sometimes that corrects the issue. I just got this vehicle about a week ago and it has not yet been diagnosed or seen as this problem just began last night. There were no other issues experienced yet. Googling it, seems to be a common issue with many Traverse owners, stating that it is typically the transmission shift control module. I do plan on following up with the dealership asap.

Both the front AND REAR exhaust pipes are cracked and broken with holes in them where the SINGLE bracket that secures both pipes mounts. There was special coverage issued to repair, but the special coverage only identifies the front pipe. The rear pipe is essentially dangling from the upstream catalytic converter, which also appears to be cracked due to the same underlying issue. If the vehicle doors are open, exhaust fumes will enter, rather than be expelled to the rear of vehicle. This pipe can essentially finish cracking and fall off into the roadway. The check engine light did not come on until these components broke. The problem is vast across many of these vehicles as reported to me by an owner of an independent service center as well as technicians who work at certified GM dealerships. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I currently still drive it, but its just a matter of time before a heaping hunk of metal pipe falls onto the roadway and causes an accident. The rear pipe is almost completely separated from the remaining exhaust pipe between the upstream and downstream catalytic converters at the bracket location before the flex pipe.

On Friday, 12/19/2025, I started by car and noticed that the infotainment display was taking longer than usual to boot up. It cycled through the Chevrolet splash screen 2 times until it ended on the "Update Failed. Returned to dealer." Due to this message on the infotainment display, there is no sound coming out of the speakers which results: *unable to hear turn signals when they are activated, *the front camera is no longer working, *unable to hear the parking assist when in reverse, *OnStar is no longer working, and *unable to hear front collision warnings. The display just cycles this message. I called around to several dealerships to see if I could get in that day to get this corrected. I was able to take it to a Chevrolet dealership on Tuesday, 12/23/2025, who diagnosed the problem as software corruption due to the over-the-air update and will result in a new radio needing to be installed. I then called Chevrolet Customer Service Center who stated that since my vehicle is outside of the bumper-to-bumper warranty, regardless of their over-the-air update causing the problem, I would have to pay for the repair. I asked, how do I know that this won't happen again with the new radio? They suggested that I have the dealership turn off the automatic over-the-air updates.

When I shift my car into park and turn off the engine, an error message appears-"Shift to Park." Although the dashboard displays that the vehicle is in park, the radio and lights remain active & I am unable to turn off my car. To resolve this issue, I must restart the car and cycle through park, reverse, or neutral before attempting to shift back into park again. It often takes multiple attempts to eliminate the error message. My Traverse is currently at the dealership, where I have been informed that it needs a new shifter, which is not covered under warranty. These vehicle is garage kept, one owner & has less than 32k miles on it- I have also discovered that this issue is recognized by GM, with numerous complaints documented on this site alone. Given that this is a widespread problem affecting many owners, it seems unreasonable for us to shoulder the expense of this repair.
