I am an owner of a 2018 Toyota Sienna LE. The Vehicle has an issue with the safety connect system. Dealer first states that the cause is the data handling being off, called Toyota turned it on and waited for a few days and still did not work. Called Dealer to make an appointment for service, dealer advised that they reset the DCM twice and to wait 24-48 hours to see if it works. It still does not work. No lights present on the overheard place where the SOS Safety connect Button is located.

3RD ROW POWER SEATS ARE MALFUNCTIONING AND ARE OPERATING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. MULTIPLE TIMES, AND ON DIFFERENT DAYS, THE POWER SEATS HAVE STARTED TO CLOSE WHILE PASSENGER IS SEATED AND BUCKLED IN THE SEAT. OCCURRED TODAY WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHILE MY WIFE WAS SEATED IN THE DRIVERS SIDE 2 SEAT SPLIT. THE SEAT STARTED TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN - NO ONE TOUCHED ANY BUTTON AND WE HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER AN HOUR. THE SEAT PUT PRESSURE ON HER UNTIL IT STOPPED IN A PARTIALLY CLOSED POSITION. THE SEAT BUTTONS THEN DID NOT WORK TO REOPEN THE SEAT BACK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THIS WOULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR A SMALL CHILD. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A SIMILAR SCENARIO ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND WE ARE CERTAIN THAT THE POWER SEATS ARE MALFUNCTIONING.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2018 Toyota Sienna verdict →
