There is a recall on the Range Rover that does not have a remedy. This is a vehicle that generates income off renting out which can not be done until recall is resolved.

My 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V-514 (Manufacturer Recall D019), issued August 8, 2025, which remains unresolved as of today. The recall concerns a front suspension upper knuckle joint that may develop a crack, potentially leading to detachment of the upper suspension arm and loss of vehicle control. Despite the recall being issued approximately nine months ago, the remedy is listed as "not yet available." The dealer has confirmed no fix or inspection appointment can be completed at this time. No repair timeline has been communicated by Jaguar Land Rover North America. Because this recall involves a potential loss of vehicle controllability and crash risk, the vehicle has been taken out of service and cannot be safely operated. The manufacturer has failed to provide parts or a remedy within a reasonable timeframe, leaving the owner without the use of a drivable vehicle. This complaint is filed to document the manufacturer's failure to make a remedy available for a safety-critical open recall and to request federal oversight of the resolution timeline for Recall 25V-514.

Per a factory recall — NTSB has ordered the following recall; Manufacturer Recall Number D027 NHTSA Recall Number 25V-514 Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary A concern has been identified on certain 2014 and all 2015 to 2017 ModelYear Range Rover (L405) and Range Rover Sport (L494) vehicles where thefront suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. In extremecases this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm. Safety Risk In extreme cases where a crack in the front suspension knuckle has developed, this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm, which under extreme avoidance maneuver use conditions may compromise the vehicle's controllability and increase the risk of a crash. This has been identified by independent mechanics as well, as a SEVERE safety concern. When this vehicle was taken to Hennessy Land Rover of north atlanta; they advised me that “they didn’t have parts for the recall”. Although they explained to me if I paid out of pocket for the work they had the parts to do the task. Service advisor is Peter Alvarez. SO THEY DON’T HAVE THE PARTS FOR AN NTSB RECALL? UNLESS I HAVE $6000/$7000 For a recall with a “SEVERE SAFETY RISK”? THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. THESE PEOPLE SELL $120,000 TRUCKS AND THEN REFUSE TO UNDERTAKE GOVERNMENT MANDATED RECALLS. THEIR EXCUSE IS “WE HAVE THE PARTS BUT ONLY IF YOU BUY THEM”. This is totally unacceptable. I have a wife and a small child who ride in this SUV and have owned the car for 7 of its 9 years on the road. Always immaculately maintained If HENNESSY LAND ROVER (NORTH ATLANTA) refuses to perform government mandated recalls they should not be doing business. Especially with “SEVERE SAFETY RISK— I SAT FOR FOUR HOURS FOR THEM TO COME OUT AND TELL ME THIS — this is my sixth Range Rover. If this is not remedied never again. I'd like to report an incidence of manufacturer non-compliance. We've had recall number 25V-514 open since September 30, 2025. The dealership has said that they don't have a part and simply left it at that. I called Land Rover, and they also indicated that they don't have a part. They won't provide any more details. It has now been 176 days since this we received the letter. I'm sure that Land Rover knew about this problem long before the letter was sent. This is a beyond unacceptable timeframe to process this recall. They are putting the lives of consumers at risk. The letter states, "Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash." This is a safety issue and they have an obligation to fix it. This is beyond the "reasonable" timeframe to complete a recall.

I received a notice regarding NHTSA Recall 25V-514 and despite repeated attempts to get the problem fixed, I have repeatedly been told that no solution is available. I am fearful that a failure of the knuckle joint will cause a severe incident resulting in injury or death.

On February/12/2026 I was slowing down normally in a 25mph zone to stop at a red light and just before the moment that my vehicle actually came to a stop I heard a loud breaking sound coming from the front and I felt my vehicle's nose dip down on the passenger side. It was obvious that something major broke so I did not proceed or attempt to drive from that point. I turned on my 4 way flashers and a few angry drivers at the same light expressed their displeasure with me for not proceeding when the light turned green by using finger signals as they drove around me. One passerby in the lane to my right told me that my wheel had come off! The police showed up a few minutes later and they called for a recovery truck. While waiting for the tow truck my husband arrived and he looked at the damage. The damage was an obvious failure of a major suspension / steering component as you could see that the top part of the steering knuckle had broken away from the suspension and the tire was laying out at a 45+ degree angle. Also while waiting for the tow truck I looked up to see if there are any recalls on my vehicle was horrified to learn that there is a major recall for the steering knuckle on my car. I have not received a recall letter or a notification about this serious safety issue which is almost as scary as the thought of this failure happening at highway speeds! After dragging my vehicle on to the flatbed I had the driver tow my vehicle directly to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle when new. >Front passenger steering knuckle break away failure. My vehicle is not repaired at this time so it is available for inspection at the dealership of origin. >Everyone on the road including myself was at risk if this failure happened at normal highway speed because my car would have been uncontrollable! >Has not been inspected at this time as this just happened. >There were no symptoms, drive-ability issues, or warning lights or any indication until the moment of failure!

Recall 25V-514, they don't have a "remedy" and my vehicle started to show signs of crack appearing on steering knuckles. Local dealer won't do anything about it and because of this I am afraid of driving my vehicle. This is the vehicle I use to carry my kids, and it is the only vehicle I have. I have had to rent out of pocket a car just to take kids to school and back home.

JLR issued a recall on August 8, 2025, for the front suspension upper knuckle joint, and there are still no parts available to fix the issue. JLR states the issue "may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm" and "may compromise the vehicle’s controllability and increase the risk of a crash." I have regularly been in touch with my local JLR dealership, and they shrug their shoulders and say "oh well." My vehicle is readily available for inspection, but the dealer is not interested in seeing it until parts are available. How many months must I be driving with a potentially catastrophic failure pending?

Hi there, I purchased this car used with approximately 78,000 miles on it and this incident occurred at 94,000 miles. The car is equipped with a system call ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) system. The system sends hydraulic fluids to each cornering of the car to help stabilize it around corners. Land Rover installed steel hard lines to deliver the fluids to each corner. They also tucked the lines to the side of the car and added a cover to protect the lines. However, that only caused these lines to fail, because moisture containing salt in the winters can travel to these lines and causes them to rust and no matter how much under carriage wash is performed, no clean water can get to them to wash away the salt. My lines failed on me and that cost me $4,400 in repairs at Lake Bluff Land Rover in the state of Illinois. They informed me there's more lines that need to be replaced which will cost an additional $5,500 in repair. When I complained to Land Rover that they should have installed stainless steel lines instead of steel to prevent this from happening, they assured me if this will become a common issue, they would perform a recall and issue a refund. When I spoke to the technicians at the Land Rover dealership, they told me they are getting a lot of cars with the same issue. I do not have the resources to investigate this issue nor the authority, but NHTSA does. Would you please look into this matter? It's a big safety concern and it's a huge mistake on Land Rover which they are avoiding to taking responsibility for. Thank you. A safety recall was issued in September 2025 for my vehicle. I contacted my local dealership (Pasadena Land Rover / Range Rover) and was informed that recall parts were not available. In the first week of December, the front right suspension began making a clunking noise, consistent with the recall defect. When I contacted the dealership, I was told that I would be required to pay out of pocket for diagnostic work, even though the vehicle has an open safety recall, and that reimbursement is not guaranteed due to parts unavailability. As a result, the vehicle cannot be repaired under the recall, and I am being asked to assume financial responsibility for diagnosing a known safety defect while continuing to operate an unrepaired vehicle.

The suspension light came on saying that there is a suspension error "leaning when cornering" in yellow. Also the "suspension fault" light "stop safely stop engine" in red comes on. The arms has been replaced, due to a bend because of the weight. The brakes, rotors and sensors are replaced every 3 months because of the weight wearing down the brakes faster than usual. (AND NO I'M NOT USING AFTERMARKET PARTS ALL PARTS ARE OEM PARTS FROM RANGE ROVER). When I reached out to Range Rover they had no solution or suggestions. The best the representative came up with was park your truck. They don't have the parts. Why are these trucks allowed to be on the road. If that's the case replace the whole truck then. This part thats cracked is a flaw on the companys end and now I am expected to walk away from my vehicle and except the lost. I have been trying to get this part fixed for a year now.

This is related to the repairs, not from an incident. Land Rover does not have a fix for the defective part, they are replacing with a new, yet old design part. Ok, but they are requiring the owners to pay for the parts and labor to replace until such a time that a newly designed part is available. According to them, at that time they will replace free of charge and refund the amount required today. Yet, they have not timetable for above. That is unacceptable.

Front Suspension Knuckle Crack was knocking and ready to break on my 2017 Range Rover. I had to bring it into an independent service center due to the inability of the dealer (JLR Newport Beach, CA) to get me in (I was told 200 cars were in front of me and it would be an undetermined period of time before they could get to me). The suspension and steering were affected and I had to have it repaired immediately by Custom European in Huntington Beach, Ca. He used original parts and it cost me $1,500.00 (799.57 parts, 660.00 labor, tax 60.42). The vehicle has not been inspected yet. When I received the SAFETY RECALL letter from JLR in Newport, I tried to get in for inspection but to no avail. Same situation, 100's of cars in front of me. When I called Range Rover of North America, I was told your computer system has been down for over two months and that I should call back every week to see if it's working (by Jared). Jared told me because I had the safety recall corrected already, this was the only way to get reimbursed but NOTHING could be done while the computer system was down. The SAFETY RECALL letter specifically says reimbursement is available but Jared said nothing is available without the computer system, which as I mentioned earlier has been down for two months. Telling me to call back weekly to see if it's up again is not the resolution I was seeking. JLR cannot inspect because they have no place to log the information since your "computer system is down." This is a classic case of "we can't do anything without our computer" but you can call us back (basically hoping I'll forget and go away). I spent good money on this safety recall and need to be reimbursed properly. Range Rover of North America and JLR of Newport Beach are doing NOTHING to address that situation with those of us that took care of the problem before it was too late. Please tell me how this should end. Thank you. [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving at approximately 20 mph, the front passenger control arm broke causing it to separate from the upper knuckle. This put my wife and other bystanders in harms way and could have caused an accident and or injuries. No warning signs or alarms. There is a Land Rover recall for this issue, but none are available for this model. This should be considered and included in the recall, since this a potential hazard and manufacturer defect.

Both left and right aluminum uprights or commonly referred to as “knuckles” are cracked. This can cause an immediate loss of control at speed and also take out the cars around you. This is a very serious problem. Apparently, other models years have previously been recalled. But the 2017 model year has not. Clearly the same issue and the cracks are in the same place. There are no warning signs of such cracking in the upright. But when it fails, it will render the driver useless until inertia takes over!

I am the owner of a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover (VIN: [XXX] ). I recently discovered a crack in the front steering knuckle of my vehicle, which I believe poses a significant safety risk. This type of failure could result in a sudden loss of control, especially at higher speeds or during turns, potentially leading to a serious accident. I am aware that Land Rover issued a recall (NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-840) for a similar defect in the front suspension knuckle affecting 2014–2016 models, but my 2017 model is not currently included in this recall—even though the issue appears identical. Given the nature of the failure and its similarity to the existing recall, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall should be expanded to include additional model years. I am concerned that other vehicles like mine may be at risk without the owners being aware of this potentially dangerous defect. Please investigate this matter for the safety of current and future drivers. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
