THIS CAR ENGINE INCONSISTENTLY DIES, USUALLY IN FIRST OR SECOND GEAR, SOMETIMES WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED (E.G. AT A RED LIGHT) AND SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS SLOWING DOWN (E.G. PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT), OR ACCELERATING (E.G. TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT OR PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT). IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER'S 3 TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM--THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 4,000 MILES AND STARTED DOING THIS SOON AFTER PURCHASED. I HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE 3 TRIPS TO THE SERVICE DEPT. BUT AM NOT SENDING THEM AT THIS TIME. HAS HAPPENED WITH 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE DRIVING THE CAR. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 25 TIMES. (LAST TIME LISTED BELOW). SPEED VARIES BUT USUALLY LESS THAN 30 MPH--NEVER ON THE HIGHWAY SO FAR. I HAVE DOCUMENTED DATES, MILEAGE, AND WHERE IT HAPPENED STARTING IN NOVEMBER--CAR WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST, 2015. *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 Mini Jcw verdict →
