Ford is not providing parts to fix safety recall 25SA9 / NHTSA Recall 25V695. Our backup camera has been displaying “rear view camera is unavailable” for months. Notices went out in October and they STILL do not have parts available to fix it. This is a huge safety hazard for our 16 year old son and it’s ridiculous that they refuse to fix it in a timely manner. NINE MONTHS since we received the letter.

The gear shifter cable became detached from it’s mount located under the air filter in the engine bay and stranded the driver at a gas station after she turned off the vehicle until she was able to use the gear release to shift the car into neutral and start the car. After arriving to her destination the vehicle would not shift into park or reverse even with use of the gear release. This can put the driver at risk in the event the car rolls away when it’s indicated to be parked or when needing to shift the car to reverse out of parking spots or out the way of incoming traffic or hazards. This vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, dealer or police. A dealer was contacted about recalls for this problem and one did not exist for this VIN regarding the gear shifter cable, however there are existing recalls for this same issue for Ford Escapes made from 2013-2019. This is a 2015 Ford Escape.

Transmission rides rough at speeds between 40 to 45 mph when driving in automatic. When in sport/manual shift you must stay in 4th gear. When going those speeds in automatic, it shifts into 5th and makes it a rough ride. I just thought it was cause of winter but not the case.

The rearview camera started glitching last April or May (of 2025). We became aware of the recall around October, 2025-when i googled the problem and then we got a letter stating the parts are not available and that they would let us know when they become available. Its been almost 7 months since the letter and 12 months since my problem started...and still no parts or letter. I am very frustrated that Ford can get away with this. I bought a car with a rear camera for safety, there are a lot of kids in my neighborhood and I rely on the camera that I bought with my car. I feel that my car is unsafe when backing up and need for this repair to be scheduled as soon as possible so we can move on. Thank you.
