DEF ( WHICH WAS FULL) READ EMPTY DASH LIGHT. ITS AUGUST NOW, I HAVE HAD 6 SERVICE FAILURES, ECU, PCM ,TURBO/SUPERCHARGE FAILURE. UNDER BOOST EGR.SYSTEM LOW OIL PRESSURE FAULT CODES, DEF WARNING ( WHICH WAS FULL). THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME ITS COMPUTER UPDATES NEEDED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. LAST WEEK, MID AUGUST, IN CALIFORNIA- SAME ISSUE AGAIN. LOSS POWER, POWER FLUCTUATION ANOTHER BREAKDOWN. TOOK THE VEH TO 1 DEALERSHIP, NEAR SIMI VALLEY, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT CLEAR CODES. WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP NEAR L.A THEY SPENT A GREAT AMOUNT OF TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THESE CODES CONTINUOUSLY COME UP WHEN ALL APPEARS WELL. THEY FOUND A COMPUTER UPDATE, CLEARED CODES- WE LEFT AND TRIED TO GET HOME TO GA. IN TEXAS SAT MORNING 29 OF AUGUST, HERE WE ARE STUCK AGAIN @ A DEALERSHIP NEAR DALLAS TILL MONDAY. THIS VAN IS A DIESEL VAN WITH AND AUTOMATIC MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND HAS NO PARK FOR THE TRANSMISSION SO THE ONLY PARKING SYSTEM IS THE HAND BRAKE. YOU CANNOT SHUT OF THE VAN AND PUT IT IN GEAR TO STOP IT AS IT WILL STILL ROLL, THIS IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP THIS VEHICLE FROM ROLLING IS THE HAND BRAKE. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE FIRST DROPPED BELOW 30 DEGREES THE PARKING BRAKE WHEN SET WILL NOT RELEASE. THIS IS NOT ALL BECAUSE NOW THE PARKING BRAKE WILL LOCK UP WHEN YOU TRY TO BACK UP EVEN WHEN NOT ENGAGED AND WILL NOT KEEP THE VAN FROM ROLLING EVEN ON A MINOR SLOPE. NOW THE BRAKE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES AND THEY CANT FIX IT. THIS IN ITSELF IS DANGEROUS BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS NO WAY TO STOP IT FROM ROLLING WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE FAILS UNLIKE A TYPICAL MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHERE YOU CAN AT LEAST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN GEAR TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING. MY RAM PROMASTER BASED CLASS C RV HAS A DOOR STICKER THAT SAYS NOT TO EXCEED 9350 LB GVWR. DYNAMAX ALSO PLACED A STICKER WITH DRY WEIGHT 8024 LB, CARGO CAPACITY 1108 LB. THE DEALER FILLED GAS, PROPANE, AND WATER WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I WENT TO DOT SCALE FRONT AXLE 3540 LB + REAR AXLE 5220 LB = 8760 LB WHICH IS LESS THAN 9350 LB GVWR. MY PROBLEM IS MY WET WEIGHT WITH NO CARGO IS ONLY 60 LB LESS THAN 5291 LB RAWR. HOW CAN I POSSIBLY CARRY 5 - 150 LB PASSENGERS OR ADD ANY CARGO WEIGHT TO THE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS OR CABINETS UNLESS ALL PASSENGERS SIT ON THE FRONT AXLE? THEY MAY BE ABLE TO SIT IN THE 4 BELTED SEATS IN THE BACK IF I DUMP ALL WATER, PROPANE, AND GAS BEFORE DRIVING? ALSO, WHEN I CALLED DYNAMAX THEY SAID THEY WEIGHED THE VEHICLE AT THE FACTORY AND THE RIGHT REAR TIRE WEIGHT WAS 2565 LB ONLY 80 LB LESS THAN 2645 LB = RAWR/2. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE MET RAWR DRY AT THE FACTORY WHEN I ADD GAS, PROPANE, WATER, PASSENGERS AND MINIMAL CARGO LIKE CLOTHES, KITCHEN POTS, FOOD THERE IS NOWAY I CAN KEEP WEIGHT UNDER RAWR AND ESPECIALLY RIGHT REAR TIRE LOAD RATING. ONLY THING I FOUND WAS BEING UPRIGHT FOR LONG PERIOD COULD CAUSE THIS. THE VEHICLE IS A COMPANY CARGO VAN WITH A WALL RIGHT BEHIND THE FRONT SEATS SEPARATING THE CARGO AREA. I PURCHASED THE PROMASTER ON 7/17, ON 7/20 THE "REAR DOOR OPEN" MESSAGE SHOWED UP ON THE DASH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND LEFT IT THERE. AS OF TODAY 7/29 IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SAFFORD DODGE IN WARRENTON, VA, THE "BCM", BASIC CONTROL MODULE IS THE PROBLEM. DODGE HAS SENT TWO REGIONAL TECHNICIANS TO TRY TO SOLVE THE ISSUE WHICH IS SOFTWARE RELATED. AFTER THE "REAR DOOR OPEN" MESSAGE WAS FIXED AN "ABS" MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH. THAT WAS RESOLVED (SO THEY SAY) AND NOW THE BCM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE MIDDLE SEAT OF THE DUAL PASSENGER SEAT CONFIGURATION. THEY HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO REPROGRAM THE BCM BUT IT IS NOT WORKING. *JS

THEY REFUSED CITING DODGE CORPORATE NOT ALLOWING THEM TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE FOR POSSIBLE DANGEROUS AND DEADLY SITUATIONS RELATED TO THE RECALLS. THERE ARE NOW FOUR RECALLS = ALL OF THEM LIFE THREATENING RECALLS THAT MUST BE PERFORMED ASAP!! I AM NOW TOLD I HAVE TO DRIVE 2 HOURS 15 MINUTES ONE WAY TO GET SERVICE FOR MY VEHICLE. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME AS I AM ELDERLY AND CANNOT DRIVE THAT FAR. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF DODGE MOTOR COMPANY TO PROVIDE ME WITH RECALL SERVICE FOR MY VEHICLE WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE.
