This is the 4th time it's happened and also the 2nd time iv almost been killed!! I have a 2014 ram 1500 which iv grown to love. Iv have alot of issues but never complained and just took care of ... yet the gauge cluster display decides to go into a party mode (strobing) and flickering or just flat out going black!!! I have bad eyes and twice now within 2 months driving at night iv gone off the road because of the flashing in my eyes! Iv found this is a common issue but the dealer told me I cannot get it fixed even though it's been recalled under other trucks! This has almost killed me! Please all I'm asking is to fix this for me... I love this truck but I'm terrified to drive it now with this issue let alone get rid of it and God for bid someone else has an accident . Please help a ram fan pile on the miles with a safe vehicle.. thank you for your time, im sorry for the long message but this is very serious and obviously a safety issue . Again, iv gone off the road and avoided a very serious incident that was caused by a faulty part. I completly understand parts going bad and having to replace them out of pocket. NOTHING SHOULD WORK FINE ONE MINUTE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN START STROBBING IN ANYONES FACE . Thank you again

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: UNKNOWN ( ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE REVVED UP AND CRASHED INTO A UNKNOWN TOYOTA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 60 MPH SIDE SWIPED A UNKNOWN SUV, CRASHED INTO A POLE AND STOPPED BETWEEN A HOUSE AND WALL THE CHECK ENGINE AND TIRE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AN INDEPENDENT AUTO BODY SHOP. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,700. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED HIS PET DOG SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. *DT*JB

ON FEBRUARY I DROVE FROM MY HOME SEVERAL MILES TO A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT TAKING AN INTERSTATE ON THE WAY. I USED MY CRUISE CONTROL ON MY WAY THERE AND JUST PRESSED THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE IT WHEN I EXITED THE INTERSTATE. I THEN CONTINUED TO THE DRIVE TO THE RESTAURANT WHERE I PULLED INTO A LINE TO THE DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW AS I MOVED THROUGH THE LINE I WOULD APPLY MY BRAKE TO STOP AND AS CARS PULLED FORWARD I JUST LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO SLOWLY MOVE FORWARD THEN PRESSED THE BRAKE AGAIN TO STOP. I DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THEN SUDDENLY WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE MY TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND RAN INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BEFORE I COULD STOP IT. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE AND I WERE NOT INJURED AND DROVE TO THE PARKING LOT TO EXCHANGE INSURANCE INFORMATION. SINCE THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT I RECENTLY CHECKED FOR RECALLS OM MY TRUCK AND FOUND ONE RELATED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL NHTSA # 18V-332 WHICH COULD BE RELATED TO MY ACCIDENT. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THE RECALL SERVICE DONE JUNE 30, 2018 AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD, THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, THE REAR BUMPER STRUCK A CONCRETE WALL IN THE PARKING LOT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ABRA BODY SHOP IN FOREST LAKE, MN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE CONTACT PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEEDS, DESPITE THE GEAR BEING IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE'S BACK WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE BACK, LEGS, AND ABDOMINAL AREA. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDERS, NECK, AND BACK. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD MOMENTS AFTER THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 30 MPH. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLICKERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

WE WERE DRIVING OUR NEW TRUCK (ONLY 13 DAYS OLD) AND CAME UP BEHIND A CAR GOING 25MPH IN A 50MPH ZONE. WE SLOWLY ACCELERATED THE TRUCK TO PASS THE VEHICLE. DURING THIS ACCELERATION, WE SAW LARGE AMOUNTS OF WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM BOTH TAILPIPES. THEN A BRIEF SINGLE CHIME STARTED FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. BECAUSE IT WAS A NEW TRUCK WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THERE WAS NO SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. WE CONTINUED UP THE ROAD AND THE CHIMING INCREASED IN FREQUENCY AND WHITE SMOKE BEGAN TO COME INTO THE CAB AND FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WE CAME TO SIDE ROAD AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER. WE GOT OUT AND THE WHITE SMOKE CONTINUED TO BELLOW FROM UNDER HOOD. AFTER TRUCK WAS TURNED OFF, THE SMOKE SLOWLY SUBSIDED. WE TOWED THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER ON A FLATBED. *TR
