With no warning my truck lost all anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, trailer brakes, and 4x4 capability (computer will not allow 4x4 to engage). This is due to an "abs module" failure. Ram/Dodge has no new units available to repair this faulty part and no ETA on if/when they will be available. There was thankfully no accident with this failure but obviously, it could lead to one. Especially since the part cannot be fixed. Owners are left with scavenging used parts that are still operational. As in my case, my vehicle will have to be "fixed" with an abs module from a wrecked truck! Also, the electronic steering can fail with no warnings. Leading to complete loss of power steering, traction control, and stability control. This failed on my truck as I was driving as well. Thankfully again, no accident with this failure. There is no new factory part to replace this unit either. I had this repaired with a remanufactured unit that failed in one month, then it was replaced again and seems to be fixed for now. These are keystone components to an automobile and it is unacceptable for them to just stop working and have no available parts to the responsible consumer. This leads to owners having a useless worthless vehicle rotting in the driveway or a highly unsafe vehicle on the road to those irresponsible. I want to also shed light to the fact that these issues encompass model years from 2009 to brand new 2026 Ram trucks. There are people with 2025-2026 Ram trucks dealing with this same issue, my vehicles age isn't an iota to molten issues under the surface to Ram owners! No one is asking for a hand out but to merely repair our vehicles.

Check Engine light came on with a code P0463. This indicates that the fuel level sensor is bad. This is a VERY common issue on these trucks. It causes the vehicle to no longer go into "ECO" mode which is wasting fuel. This happens every time I fill the gas tank and does not go away until the tank reaches 3/4 tank. The part is garbage and is known to fail.

As is clearly a very common defect, my exhaust manifold bolts broke and the manifold warped. This is the second time this has happened. RAM knows about this problem. In fact, it is so well known that it is called "the HEMI tick". The fact that such a shoddy part has continued to be put on millions of trucks and other vehicles should warrant a recall.

Electric Power Steering failed, luckily while in driveway. C2217 is the fault code. Could have resulted in significant vehicle(s) damage or bodily harm if this had occurred at normal driving speeds.

At 112,682 miles, instrument cluster warning lights for brake, ABS, and traction control illuminated. Scan of vehicle shows several brake sytem related fault codes, root cause fault code being "C2200-49 Anti-lock Brake Module Internal: Internal Electronic Failure". Called Stellantis Ram dealer service department and was informed repair parts on back order, they have been waiting over a year for parts for vehicles with identical failure, and do not know when or even if repair part will be available.

On the morning of May 26, 2026, I was driving at 30 MPH on a neighborhood road. After a few miles, and while approaching a green to caution traffic light. I applied the brake and felt a definite tug in the steering wheel and immediately, completely lost power steering. While at the red traffic light and a full stop, I placed the truck in park stopped and restarted the engine, and the power steering was restored. It happened again within a half mile again while applying the brake. Although difficult to steer at 25 MPH, it is incredibly difficult to turn the wheel when at a full stop. However, by stopping and restarting the engine it enabled me to navigate typical parking maneuvers for a short time.

I turned the vehicle to park in a diagonal spot, and it would not stop. I had taken my foot off the gas just prior to starting the turn and then tapped the gas in the turn. After I tapped it an physically brough my foot back to the seat and then placed it on the brake, it accelerated. It drove over a curb, through a metal barrier and into a glass door and stopped at the side mirrors while my foot was firmly pressing the brake down. The cops on scene said the video looked like I was accelerating, but like I said I was firmly pushing down on the brake. Only the left rear brake light worked and is hard to see because the plastic cover is damaged. Prior to the accident the vehicle did not have the ABS light blinking, but it was blinking when I retrieved my personal items out of the vehicle 2 days later. There was a woman bending over/ in the corner by counter in the store and had the vehicle not stopped when it did, she would have been hit; when she stood up mere inches from the trunk, this put me, the driver into shock.

Front gas tank strap rotted out and broke causing the trap to carve into the drive shaft.im lucky i had just come off the parkway but drive shaft was looked at as dangerous and could split in half .It is know there is a recall on the straps and an extended repair of 12 years. They emailed me saying they won’t cover either repair. Also saying the driveshaft is not covered but the problem they admit to caused the second repair? I have a repair bill and a number of other people on the internet that have had the same issue from this broken tank strap. My truck was at the westbury dealer a number of times over the years and they never once brought this up to me. Please help me. I am retired 67 years old and I feel I’m being taken advantage of. T. Y PS I could have been serious injured

Yes there is a issue with the ABS control modules in these trucks, and they are nowhere to be found, it causes a safty risk bec you lose control if u need to hard break and possibly lose your steering. Dodge/ram doesnt want to take responsibility for them and its crazy, this could kill someone and i feel it should have a recall, the warning lights are the traction control/emergency break and your abs light. Irs absolutely insane that i am having to even compalin about this when this is a very important part of the truck

The ABS module failed. Replacement parts are no longer being manufactured. My traction control, ABS, and cruise control no longer function as a result. Also getting warnings that the trailer braking system has a failure - these warnings started after the ABS module failed.

Ram is doing recalls on abs braking systems and trailer hitch problems. I have a 2014 with the same problems and there are other owners complaining bout the same thing on forums. Why are you letting Ram go on with problem and only going back to 2025?. It's ridiculous for them to slide and not repair a problem tht has been going on for years. And Ram dealers want $2300 to $3000 to repair.

I had my ABS Light and Brake light come on in August 2023. My cruise control and my brake controller would no longer work. Took it to a dealer for repairs and they diagnosed it as needing a ABS Contol Modular. It has been on back order since that time. I was first told 3 mo, then 6 mo. Etc. I visited the dealership last week and they told me the part will no longer be manufactured. I have a low mileage vehicle that is worthless to trade in or sell because of this brake issue. The part number is 68228991AD ABS Control Modular.

Steering takes force to turn, making noise and feeling like turns are jolted while maneuvering. While making right handed turn, the truck requires a crawling speed, to ensure steering is on route. With the feeling worsening, the fear is that it will fail to turn at a crucial moment and cause injury to the driver or any other surrounding vehicles.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the ABS, BRAKE, and an unknown warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that approximately one year later, while driving approximately 5 MPH in the rain, the steering wheel jerked left and right continuously, and the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle stopped facing on-coming traffic. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was then taken to a dealer for an oil change and spark plugs replacement; however, after driving away, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the parts were on back order. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

Have a 2014 Ram 1500 that has a ABS malfunction light showing. Took truck in and dealership service department wanted $1500.00 for a new ABS module that has failed. The part has been on backorder from Mopar/Stellantis for months. I am glad I did not give them $1500.00 (+ future labor costs) to fix for something I have been calling the dealership for months on inventory status. My truck has been sitting in their possession for almost 10 months now, rendering me loss of my vehicle use for the entire time of 10 months. Ridiculous. I reached out to Ram Cares and filed a complaint. They have issues with the dealership returning calls as I have. Something is not right here. Again, this is a part on backorder for months that has failed according to dealership and truck is potentially unsafe to drive. I asked Ram Cares to verify if truck is road worthy to drive safely with the failed ABS module as is. Ram Cares still has communication issues with the dealership and even they are getting ignored. I am beyond frustrated and at a loss (literally) of not being able to use my truck for an excessive length of time. I filed a complaint also with the State of California BAR department and they said to file a complaint with you as well. The part number the dealership said I need is: abs module 68228991AD

Any water will disable the abs, traction control. Water shorts out the abs module making abs system inop. I have replaced 2 abs modules. They work great until you drive in the rain. This is a huge safety concern.

This complaint concerns failure of the remedy for Safety Recall Z46 / NHTSA Campaign 22V406 involving the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) on a 3.0L diesel pickup. The HPFP had previously been replaced under the recall by an authorized dealer. About 19 months later, while the vehicle was at a dealership for service, the replacement HPFP failed again during dealer testing. The dealer documented metal contamination throughout the fuel system caused by the HPFP failure. The dealer then replaced the contaminated fuel system components. After those repairs and during post-repair test driving, the vehicle developed new bottom-end engine noise. The dealer later documented connecting rod bearing damage / rod knock and recommended complete engine replacement. The vehicle had been brought in with no bottom-end engine noise, and the dealer’s intake inspection documented oil condition as OK. An independent oil analysis later showed the engine oil was normal and did not indicate long-term lubrication failure. This suggests the engine damage occurred acutely after the HPFP failure and resulting contamination event, not from routine wear. This condition creates a serious safety risk because HPFP failure can cause loss of fuel pressure, engine stall, or loss of motive power, and the subsequent engine damage raises the risk of sudden engine failure or seizure while driving. That could increase the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. The failure was confirmed by the dealer and is documented in the repair order. The vehicle remains inoperable and is available for inspection upon request. I am requesting investigation into whether the recall remedy was adequate, since the recall replacement HPFP failed again and the resulting contamination appears to have led to catastrophic secondary engine damage.

So my truck has the abs module part that has failed on it. Over the time it’s failed we have seen things go out on it that directly relate to safety being a concern. First is the fact that sometimes the brakes fail completely and cause concern that I might hit another vehicle or person. Second is the issue of the truck very rarely accelerating without driver interaction this is a safety issue because the uncontrolled speed could cause additional accidents. Lastly is the issue where the truck will very rarely go into an undesirable gear will driving resulting in immediate action to be taken by the driver. All of these incidents were taken up with multiple dodge dealers and Stelantis motor corp without action taken on their part. All parties have stated that repair is impossible due to lack of availability. When asked to provided assistance to get truck repaired at a different location without cost to driver, driver was told no. Driver was also told no after driver stated this was now becoming an increased risk.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab verdict →
