[XXX] was driving the 2014 F150 on a multi lane state road in the afternoon on a sunny and dry afternoon. The vehicle was traveling straight with steady traffic at an intense rate of speed (approximately 45-50 mph) when it all of a changed gears and became difficult for the [XXX] to control, causing the vehicle to hit a guard rail. There was no contributing factors to the accident other than the vehicle's malfunction (i.e. no negative weather, road signals, other vehicles, animal or plant obstructions, intersections, driver error, etc.). At the time of the impact, all of the vehicle's airbags deployed and the driver's seatbelt locked in place. There were no personal injuries - only property damage to the outside of the vehicle, the airbags and seatbelt. Thus far, Ford has refused to replace the airbags, seatbelt/repair the vehicle's property damage despite repeated requests. Ford only fixed the software problem associate with the recall and has taken the position that is the only remedy they are required to do. ( I will locate the police report and provide subsequently if needed) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It is 2014 F150 platinum it has a recall on the transmission. I took it in. They programmed it. I left with it. It was worse. and said that they had to get my truck was there for over a month and a half after the part was put on it. The transformation was worse now it’s back in the shop again for another two weeks. They’re telling me I need a new transmission. Anybody with common sense would know that if you’re driving 60 to 70 miles an hour and your truck shifts from six gear to first gear it’s going to tear something up in the transmission. I got it out and it was hard shifting out of first and the second out of fifth and the sixth and reverse was whining. All I’m asking for is help they want me to pay $6600 for a new transmission that I don’t have I’m on disability. Please help

while driving on the freeway my 2014 ford f150 suddenly downshifted from 6th gear to 1st gear causing my rear wheels to lock up and having the steering wheel jerk to the left. the car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me from behind since the trucks wheels locked up with no brake lights. this has been the 8th time this has happened. each time i take it to ford for them to check it out they tell me they can not duplicate the issue. the wrench light comes on and it throws codes and ford will do nothing to fix it.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ROUGHLY 75MPH THE VEHICLES SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY JUMPED TO 105MPH THEN DOWN TO 65MPH, THEN TO ROUGHLY 90MPH AND FINALLY DROPPING TO 0MPH AT WHICH TIME THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY SHIFTED DOWN INTO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP WHILE GOING 75MPH ALMOST KILLING MYSELF. AFTER THIS OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. ONCE RESTARTED EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD. A COUPLE DAYS OF DRIVING NORMALLY WENT BY BEFORE THE VEHICLE LOCKED ITSELF IN 5TH GEAR, THE ONLY WAY THIS WAS FIXED WAS FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE CYCLED ON AND OFF. A FEW MORE DAYS OF NORMAL DRIVING WENT BY AND THE VEHICLE THEN EXHIBITED SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 5TH ONCE SPEED REACHED ABOUT 5MPH. THIS OCCURRED UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS CYCLED ON AND OFF. FROM MY RESEARCH ONLINE THIS IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME. 2012-2013 F150S WERE RECALLED DUE TO THESE SAME SYMPTOMS, HOWEVER, THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR 2014'S AS OF YET, EVEN THOUGH THEY USE THE SAME FAULTY TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME.

HAD TO REPAIR THE "LEAD MOLDED FRAME & GASKET" ! TRUCK WOULD JUMP THREW GEARS WHILE MOVING AT ANY SPEED. FINAL DRAW WAS WHEN TRUCK DROPPED TO 1ST GEAR WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH ON I-64 EAST NEARLY CAUSING TRUCK TO FLIP OVER AFTER SCREECHING TIRES AND RUNNING OTHER CARS OFF THE ROAD! FORD DEALERSHIP MAINTENANCE DEPT. TOLD ME THERE WERE RECALLS FOR SAME PROBLEM ON F-150'S BUT NOT FOR THE YEAR 2014 AS MINE IS!.. PLEASE NOTE IF IT WERE WET/RAINING AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED TO US, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE ACCIDENT WITH POSSIBLE CASUALTIES...!!!

I PULLED FORWARD ABOUT A FOOT OR SO AND WAS STOPPED BY SOMETHING, I THEN WENT BACKWARDS. I REPEATED THIS FOR ABOUT FIVE TIMES. MY DAUGHTER WAS HYSTERICAL FOR JUST BEING STUCK, I TURNED AND TOLD HER TO CALM DOWN, WHEN I TURNED BACK AROUND I SAW FIRE IN THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR, I TOLD MY FAMILY " IT'S ON FIRE, GET OUT". I OPENED MY DOOR TO GET OUR AND WAS ENGULFED BY FLAMES, I QUICKLY EXITED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I YELLED FOR MY DAUGHTER THREE TIMES, SHE HAD RAN A LONG WAY AWAY FROM THE TRUCK, BECAUSE SHE WAS FRIGHTENED. WHEN I HAD HER IN MY SIGHT I STARTED FILMING. SHE HAD EXITED OUT OVER THE TOP OF MY SON ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL. MY SON SAID HE HEARD A SPEWING NOISE WHILE I WAS TELLING MY 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO CALM DOWN. How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Ford F-150 Supercab Diesel verdict →
